We came to The Galloping Hen before church while visiting a friend who was preaching, and wow, it was fantastic! The service was friendly, and once we were seated, everything came out quickly. My husband and I shared the chilaquiles, and the portion was more than enough for both of us. Our son ordered the Mickey Mouse pancakes, and they were surprisingly delicious! The gravy was heavy on the flower and had a weird bouillon aftertaste with no sausage in it whatsoever. So that really kills the enthusiasm. The corned beef and Hash came out of a can so it was bland, but the hashbrowns were fried upon request and came out really well. For some reason, paying 4 dollars for a cup of coffee or $3.50 for a glass of iced tea just was not tempting. We wanted to try a new breakfast place so I found this one on yelp. It was easy to find and when we got there, it wasn't very crowded. But when we left around 10, it was extremely crowded. You can sit outside during the summer, but everybody was inside eating. The decor is non-descriptive, but it was clean and comfortable. Everybody was very friendly and our server was Angel. We didn't want leftovers so we picked some items we thought would work. Ha ha we ended up having leftovers. My husband had the ham and cheese sandwich with a side of fruit. He said it was very good. I wanted a waffle with fruit and bacon and that's what I got. Everything was good including the coffee. Also, the prices were very reasonable. It was not packed when we went but somewhat busy. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our drink orders were also taken in a timely manner but it felt like a while before we actually got the drinks, hot coffee and waters. I ordered the biscuit breakfast and paid extra for gravy. It came out at a fairly reasonable time, but my plate of bacon and eggs came well before my biscuit so my eggs were cool before I got my full meal. Overall the food was good and the service was friendly. I think the timing with receiving food and drinks was off, but it could have just been a fluke. With the space and the quality of food I'd say this is a place I'd take my family for brunch since there seems to be something for everyone. read more
