The food was good. Whitefish looked great and was said to be very tasty. The Cuban was really good with great bread. The fries were fresh and delightful. The cheese curds were excellent. The only issue was the service was slower than molasses. Almost two hits for dinner. The view was excellent though and a good time talking and connecting, so while very long waits to get food, it wasn't totally bad. read more

Once inside and seated...We ordered the basket of cheese curds and I got the fish tacos with a side of chips and salsa and BF got the fish sandwich w/fries The wait staff worked their butss off the entire time we were there...no complaints at all. Food - 2.5/5 Mac burger and Bison burger were decent. Fries are quite possibly the worst French fries we've had, they are nothing more than warm potato slices....or underdone fries. Chicken fingers for the kids were awful, hard and barely any chicken. Service - 0/5 after receiving my drink the server didn't come back to check on us for nearly 35 minutes and by that time we were irritated. Food didn't come for nearly an hour for 2 adults/1 child. Server wasn't too bothered, barely touched base with us, blamed the wait on his two larger tables - that isn't an excuse to give us a very poor experience. I gave it a 4 just because we had to wait as they're only open in the patio. The food was outstanding. I had the cluckin waffle which was chicken and waffles w a baked potato. The only negative was the oil on the outside of the potato tasted old, however inside was fine. Husband had fish tacos, best he's ever tasted. Also had vampire bread, my husband loved I thought it was ok. It was cooked perfectly but depends on your taste buds - lots of garlic. Our waitress was phenomenal - she was busting her butt all over the place. She was very attentive and deserves praise. The place was okay, friendly staffs. they are busy but we got lucky we did not wait that long. My husband food was good, mine was so so..I had Asian Shrimp and the japanese citrus soy dressing was too much. Also, the shrimp was salty. The price is pretty reasonable. read more

Very "beach bar atmosphere type" place, great and friendly service, clean, and nicely decorated. Just what we needed after a long drive and an empty belly. The food took a bit to make it to us but it was definitely worth the wait. I can tell it's the place to go around here since it got crowded right after we made it in. Short wait for a table at 8:30 pm on a Tuesday night. The hostess didn't tell us they were cash only because their new machine wasn't working. Good thing we had cash but just make sure when you visit. Things of note: Only outdoor seating, which means the mosquitoes will come for you at dusk. They close at 10pm on weekdays in the summer. The creole white fish dinner is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. The fish is fresh, huge and perfectly grilled in a creole dust with crispy edges but not breaded. Wow!take a jacket if you get chilly but THEY HAVE AIRLINE BLANKETS! I took a chance and asked, as this is common in LA area for outdoor restaurants on the water. The blanket took the chill off and helped keep the mosquitoes at bay. Love love love this place. Hubs promised he take me again tomorrow so I could have it again before we leave. Our Waitress was very nice and attentive. Beer list had a great selection and very affordable. Don't turn your nose up at the house wines. It's a drinkable brand. We had lunch at the Gangplank Saturday afternoon. Pseudo outdoor seating, protected by plastic that hangs down over the sides. Beautiful view of the harbor. Service was friendly and prompt. I had the shrimp BLT salad. Marinated cucumbers, crumpled bacon, greens, amazing blue-cheese dressing on the side, and a half dozen shrimp. The shrimp were basted in a mildly creole like rub which made them very tasty but a bit messy to remove the tails. There were good and not-so-good things about this place. The seating is all outdoors and the view of the water was great. The service was pretty good. My husband was going to get ribs, but they were out, so he got an order of wings. He said the wings were more fat than meat and reminded him of the frozen ones from the grocery store. Stopped in for Take Out on a Friday night, maybe 7:30. Yes, they were pretty busy and people were waiting. So when I tried to order take out, they refused my request. Greatly enjoyed my dinner here. Was a recommendation to visit and everyone in my family enjoyed the food. I had the BBQ ribs which were fall off the bone good. Surprisingly they came with brussel sprouts which were also very good and well cooked. The kids has the usual chicken fingers and wife had a sandwich which she said was very tasty. We stop here every time we're in the area, even crossing the bridge just to come here if we're staying in Mackinaw City! The whole restaurant is just a patio, so I have to imagine this place is only open seasonally. They do have plastic covers to enclose the patio, so don't let yucky weather stop you from coming, though! The food here is outstanding, and so are their drinks! I've never had a bad meal here. People who were seated after us were getting drinks and food before our table. When we did get the food, we had no silverware and had to ask for it. He then got my friend's dessert order wrong. It's like we had to tell him how to do his job and even then it was mediocre. We decided not to tip because of all the hassle. He didn't like that and in front of the whole restaurant he said, "go to McDonald's next time.". Maybe he should be working at McDonald's. He then had further words with my friend and screamed at her in front of the entire restaurant, "You f...king fat bitch." And the male hostess asked her to leave. What happened to customer service?
