There is a newish bar called the dugout and it stays open until 12am, this is ideal to be as i would recommend booking a taxi for your journey home as it can be a bit quiet outside the stadium. There is a huge car park but it would be worth leaving the car as it is a reasonably priced round. There is a restaurant which is a set menu and is a bit school dinners eg steak pie, chicken in a basket etc but it was packed last Saturday so you should book a table rather than turn up. There is also a snack bar which will do you chips n gravy, burgers, tunnocks tea cakes and rolls etc. I prefer going in the summer as its nice to get a seat outside, also its a good place to come for a few pints before moving on into town.

Banners along the streets marked that the critter skeleton was in town and observable at Kelvin Hall from 18 April 2019 through 31 July 2019. I was a little confused as the exhibit hall looked to be part of an indoor sports arena. It was a wee bit of culture shock for me, and I was like - am I in the right place. Sure enough, a worker at the front desk pointed me towards the exhibit. The T-rex was pretty neat and had a lit-up informational display approach. Is it glow in the dark ink or an electronic display, or just really bright ink... Walking around in the exhibit was easy as the floorpan was well designed for human bipedal locomotion. A gift shop by the exhibit hall exit provided physical offerings to remember one's experience(s) by.

I was all set to give Kelvinhall three stars - partly for being such a beautiful historic building…read more(from the outside), and partly for the nice staff who work there. That was until last night, when I discovered that the water in the taps in all the changing rooms is apparently not fit for human consumption. W-w-w-w-hat?! In a sports hall? Where there is no access to water that is ok for drinking (apart from in the gym). I visit Kelvinhall twice a week and have been drinking the tap water for around a year ... I was horrified. You'd think they'd put up a sign at least? Apart from that, Kelvinhall is closing for refurbishment sometime this year so don't expect anything flash at the moment. Here's hoping they do something nice with it for it's reopening (and sort out the water!)

I think the original building burned down a few years back so the new place is modern and fairly trendy (by usual golf club standards). I've no idea about memberships or anything but the prices at the bar were very reasonable and the barmen poured a very good pint of Guinness.

Gailes lies in the heart of Scotland's Ayrshire Golf coast with several celebrated courses within easy driving distance: Royal Troon - 5 miles Old Prestwick - 8 miles Turnberry - 35 miles. Also nearby, the Loch Lomond Golf Club has recently opened Dundonald Links. I liked this course a lot, the layout wasn't as much fun or interesting as some of the other links courses we have played in Scotland. That said, I thought it was a really solid test and well maintained. The greens were in excellent condition. Greens fee also included a bag tag as well as a very nice 2 course lunch.

The staff are also on the wrong side of 18 working for pennies and are as enthusiastic as you would expect. You also have to go over 11,000 speedbumps to get there. On a warm day, there is also a 70% chance of being robbed. The indoor complex is decent, with good bowling, a pool hall and loads of arcade games. They also have a really good crazy golf. It's in Strathclyde Country Park which, on a good day, helps alot. Worth going to, but it's nothing worth taking your camera for.
