Kaeli's steady and warm presence puts children at ease and inspires a playful and curious attitude. My son, who was apprehensive at first grew to love the joyous and consistent rhythm of the class. With each class his participation and level of comfort increased. By the end of the session, he exclaimed that it was the favorite part of his busy and active day. My daughter adored Kaeli and how she infused music and story into the yoga class. She would often request songs from class at home and eagerly awaited her beloved yoga class with Kaeli. My first introduction to Motion Center was through the prenatal yoga class which at the time provided much physical and emotional relief during my pregnancy. My husband and I took the contemplative birthing class 5 years ago for the birth of our first child. The class empowered us and prepared me and my husband for the birthing experience as well as the postpartum stage. Kaeli was also our doula and helped us navigate the birthing experience. She was our steady and gentle guide on the birthing journey and for that we are forever grateful.

Informative, empowering, respectful, approachable, individual, caring, encouraging. But, at this point I've had my baby. I had a natural (no epi, no pitosin, etc..) birth at a major hospital. It was an amazing experience (seriously) and I owe that in large part to Zina's teaching and guidance. This is how Zina's classes helped: 1. My husband and I had learned what was happening at different stages of the birth process, and could make informed decisions once we got to the hospital, we didn't feel like we were being told what to do and instead were an active part of the decision-making process. 2. I felt confident and excited, instead of apprehensive and scared (if left to my own devices, I'd just feel scared). This made such a difference. 3. Probably the biggest difference was that when the time came, my husband and I were a team. It's natural for a partner to want to help, but oftentimes it's hard to know how, especially with how birth is portrayed in movies. Zina's class gave us a 'toolkit,' and having those options and ideas at the ready for when you don't really have time to think was key.

These 5 classes just flew by and I did not expect to learn this much. I feel prepared and empowered to help my baby come to this world. And this is not just me, my husband absolutely loved this class and feels like he can really help and that we can do this as a team- all three of us I highly recommend this class, Zina is a great teacher and overall an amazing person. I feel so lucky to have found this class and if I have any issues with breastfeeding I'll know who to call!

Through a combination of techniques we worked gently through some spasming muscles and tension in muscle groups I hadn't realized were all connected! The session was unhurried and she gave me a vocabulary for describing how things felt and techniques to maintain the level of relaxation we'd achieved. The pain was so reduced that that night I got my first full night of sleep since the injury!

In our…read moreconsultation she not only talked about her perspective and qualifications as a doula, but also took the time to really get to know me as a person, what I wanted and needed from a doula, and what my fears and hopes were for my birth. I felt like I was talking to a friend rather than having a consultation for services. Jesse also went into detail about specific strategies she would use in labor in my pursuit of a VBAC, demonstrating her wide skill set, and showing me that not only is she emotionally apt, but also highly qualified in the physical aspect of what she does--unlike many doulas, she is not just there primarily for emotional support. That combined with her lovely personality made me feel confident in choosing her to assist my birth. During active labor, Jesse beyond exceeded our expectations. She had a strong intuition about what my body needed and when, clearly developed over her training as a doula and massage therapist, but what is also an obvious innate talent. She pushed me to try strategies outside of my comfort zone as well as respected my limitations and needs. She was a source of both comfort and strength, helping me work through every contraction, repositioning me to get my sunny-side-up baby to spin, making sure I was hydrated, involving my partner, massaging and applying gentle touch, and so much more. She stayed with us throughout my labor that lasted the span of two days, an unwavering touchstone. My daughter was successfully born by VBAC, and I don't know if I could have done it without Jesse. I heard multiple nurses comment on how great a doula she was, and also one said to me directly how lucky I was to have her, because she was one of the best she'd ever worked with. After birth, Jesse stayed with us for longer than an hour to make sure we were settled, and then arranged to get us food from our favorite restaurant to feed the ravenous post-labor hunger, which was quite far away. She absolutely went the extra mile for us in every way. Also, Jesse was willing to work with my husband and I on price. She believes all people should have access to a birth doula, and it is so deeply appreciated. I wholeheartedly recommend Jesse to any laboring person and couple. Her dedication and care just make my heart burst with gratitude.

Lindsay is seriously the best thing that's ever happened to this world. I don't know how I would have had either one of my babies if it weren't for her constant love, support, and encouragement before, during, and after labor. For my second time around, I decided I really wanted to make it my goal to try and make it without any pain medications or interventions. Lindsay supported my husband and I through the entire process. She spent time massaging my back, helping me get into different positions to keep labor progressing, feeding me words of affirmation, and just empowering us as a couple. Her love is like no other. Having her in the room with us was so seamless it was like she'd worked with the midwife and nurse thousands of times before. Even they couldn't believe how incredible she was and what an inspirational environment she helped create for us. We also worked with Liz both times while I was having trouble breastfeeding. She's the most knowledgeable and encouraging LC you'll ever get the privilege of working with. She will support you no matter which direction you end up going and is just so warm and loving, which is what every postpartum, tired mama needs! Hiring Lindsay & Liz will not only help you gain all the education, love, support, and empowerment you didn't even know you needed, but you'll also have two new best friends because that's just how amazing they are!

When we encountered some challenges with the 2 to 1 nap transition, Ellie was the only person we wanted help from and once again she was exactly the resource we needed. We also felt SO supported by Ellie as a birth and postpartum doula for our second child. Using zoom, email, text, and phone, Ellie was like an expert big sister in the weeks leading up to the birth, as well as in the beginnings of labor, and most especially in the early postpartum period. The birth escalated so quickly that there wasn't time for zoom support, but honestly the postpartum support alone was invaluable (and thank goodness for Ellie's nudge via phone for us to hightail it to the hospital-- our son was almost born in the car). Her expertise in sleep and lactation along with being a thoughtful and experienced mom of three... I truly can't speak highly enough. As a mama who utilized the standard medical system for three births before finding Vanessa &…read moreTrinity Midwifery, I can say without a doubt that the care I received with Vanessa was the absolute best care I could've imagined. Not a single appointment was ever rushed; my questions were answered and I felt informed and empowered at every step. The attention not just to my pregnancy but to me as an individual was beyond compare. I have never felt more seen or heard during a major life event than I did with Vanessa's care. My fourth pregnancy had sudden complications at the very end and Vanessa was quick to pick up on my need for a hospital setting, without ever casting fear or doubt my way. She then operated in a doula capacity in the hospital, helping to facilitate a wonderful birthing experience despite it not being my dream home birth. Vanessa prioritized my health and safety as well as that of my baby by sending us to the hospital, and I'm grateful for that. My fifth pregnancy went "post dates" and Vanessa kept me grounded in those long days of anxiously waiting. She checked in on me frequently, offering so much encouragement and support. When the time finally came, Vanessa's calming presence helped keep my labor running smoothly, and led me to the most amazing home birth. She was sure to include my older kids as much as they wanted to be, which made the entire experience incredibly special for our whole family. It's hard to even describe how highly I recommend Vanessa & Trinity Midwifery. Vanessa has had a positive, lasting impact on our family and we are exceedingly thankful for the care she provided for us!

But after that, I knew I wanted to home birth for any future kids. I used Trinity Midwifery for two home births after that, and if I have any more, they'll be the ones I call. Vanessa, Jessy, and Olivia are absolutely incredible to work with. I also had the pleasure of having a guest Midwife Ranee on board with my second home birth. The team at Trinity Midwifery is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and caring. Consent is a staple in their care and they will ask consent before touching you or taking vitals. Informed consent is very important to them and they will make sure you understand every option, medication, procedure, etc in full, including any risks and benefits before you give consent to them. They will not persuade or coerce you in any way, the choice for anything is yours. They are highly trained and can tell where you are in labor just by watching and listening. They know where baby is at just by palpating your belly and know if baby is mal-positioned and know maneuvers to put you in to correct it. They are extremely intuitive to you as a birthing mom and can tell if something isn't right and believe in you as the birthing mom to know your body and baby and listen and believe you if you think something intuitively isn't right. They are there throughout your labor as physical and emotional support. They will make you food, drinks, prepare your birth space, get you cold or warm compress cloths and use them, help keep the pool water warm, give counter pressure for pain relief, suggest positions and movement for labor, whatever you need. They will help direct dad if he's catching the baby. They are highly respectful of your birth space and make sure you are comfortable and everything is perfect for you. Music, lighting, aromatherapy, candles, they'll help make your birth space your own personal paradise. Your postpartum period right after birth is yours to direct, whether you want to wait an hour or two to cut the cord, or want to do placenta prints or want to do heel prick a week later or not at all, whatever you decide, they'll honor and respect it. Their mannerisms are calm, quiet, and gentle. Their support in labor is incredible and they'll remind you to breathe, relax your body, have low vocal tones, hold your hand, and keep you grounded in all of your moments of birth. They'll remind you with gentle affirmations that you can do this, and you are doing it. They are also there for support and education prenatally and postpartum. Even my prenatal and postpartum visits are a world of difference in care and expertise vs when I used to use an obgyn or even hospital based midwives. Overall, this team is the only one I would trust with my births, and I believe that every family deserves the incredible service they provide. My labors and births with them are the highlights of my life and I thank them for such beautiful birth experiences. I felt safe, cared for, supported, educated, and loved. I have included 2 pictures each of my two different home births. Perfect moments surrounded by an incredible birth team.
