Cute little place at the reservoir. If you are out fishing, camping or just a day trip I suggest you hit this place up for some tasty food. Our waitress was great and kept our drinks well supplied. Can I say.. OMG the fried pickles!! The burger was great but the fried pickles were out of this world. A must try if you are a fan of pickles or even just kinda like them.. if you hate pickles you still need to try them. You might be surprised, these are not your traditional fried pickles. Gooey cheese wrapped in a wonton wrapper give this pickle something it was missing. read more

We were in Fort Peck to fish. Our guide recommended this restaurant. We ate here all three nights, the service and food was fantastic! Highly recommended the cookie with ice cream. Not impressed. The building is gorgeous and it seems like a nice place...until you decide to eat there. Service was slow even though there were only about six customers. I had to get up and ask the bartender for a menu even though there were two bartenders working. Once I got a menu I discovered their prices are way too high. $12 for a mediocre cheeseburger? Sat at the bar. Ordered a drink that was gone in 10 minutes. When she brought food , my beer was empty but never asked if I wanted another for at least 10 minutes. As I write this, we have been done eating and drinks empty for over 20 minutes. have not even acknowledged we exist. still waiting to pay our bill. Worst service and worst food we have ever had. We weren't acknowledged when we came in and sat at the bar even though there were 3 employees standing there. Finally got a bottle of beer plopped in front of me and the waitress didn't take the cap off. Then we were given an old menu that was incorrect and the waitress was rude and told us we read the menu wrong. Don't order the $14.00 plate of "Dam Nachos". They are a plate of stale chips, a few sprinkles of cheese, a few chunks of tomato and a few cold black beans. Seriously... that is it! The menu says they have beef and are baked in the oven. Haha!! Not hardly! No wonder the waitress didn't ask how are food was and avoided us the whole time. Didn't even get a thank you. The Gateway Club was excellent. The new management and chef completely changed the quality and speed of the food! More items on the menu are made in-house and are fantastic. The appetizers are great and in larger proportions than normal restaurants and around the same prices (huge plus). The dinner I had was a burger and it was cooked perfectly! read more

Used to be amazing! Sadly all good things come to an end. Walking in the bar has a great atmosphere and everything looks super rustic and fancy. Everything on the menu sounded so good and the prices make you think it would be. Then you get your food. That's when it all goes to shit. I ordered chicken strips and onion rings. My $12 plate that sounded so good with 4 chicken strips, looked like it should've been on the kid menu. I am super disappointed!!!! Guess all of the good memories of going to Fort Peck and eating at the Gateway will have to just remain memories! I will never go there again. read more

A few years ago, I would've given this five stars without a question. The head cook was AMAZING and I went there all the time. However, times have changed and I have gotten sick from a caesar salad that was left out too long, and had otherwise mediocre food since then. read more

This was a great place to eat! I had the lemon pepper cod special and my mom had the sirloin steak . Both meals were delicious and cooked to perfection! The salads were fresh and crisp, potatoes were awesome - even the Texas toast was irresistible . Great service also. Waited 15 minutes to acknowledge by wait staff, 20 minutes for our drinks to show, 40 minutes for appetizer, at the almost 1.5hrs mark we still had no food we ordered. Disappointing to say the least. A friend and I went there for dinner after the play at the Ft Peck Theater last night. The prices seemed a bit high, but the place was pretty busy so I expected a decent meal. After a 45 minute wait for our food, what arrived was less than decent, it barely qualified for mediocre. The only saving grace was that the server was very friendly and cheerful. For $16.00 I expected the "Country Fried Steak" (chicken fried) to be freshly prepared, instead you could tell it was right off the frozen food service truck, (and then over cooked in the deep fat fryer) it came with one side... mashed potatoes NOT included, and what was served was a less than generous portion. This is the first place I've ever had a chicken fried steak served without the mashed potatoes being included. The gravy tasted straight out of the can. My friend ordered the fish appetizer for $14.00 figuring for that price it would be enough for a meal... Wrong! 5 tiny pieces of overcooked deep fried fish (bordering on burned) add what was a very small portion of french fries for $2.50 and together they weren't even enough to make a decent light lunch. I guess the location has a captive audience with so few places to eat in the area, but I'll be driving to the next town rather than waste my money here in the future. read more

I got a gift card from my boss to here for Xmas. From what I was told it just reopened (I'm new to the area so I had no other experience with it) It was an awesome time for the wife and I! The building itself was gorgeous! And the ambiance was light and fun without being annoying like some other restaurants I have been to (here's looking at you apple-bee's type chains. lol). The service was very friendly, quick, attentive, and fantastic! I ordered the spillway cut rib eye. It was the first time I have ever ordered a steak that expensive before and will be doing so again. The only thing I would say could be improved is for them to get a soda fountain. They brought me a whiskey tumbler and a can of soda for my drink. Not a huge deal, but I ran through it pretty quickly, and having as biig a mustache as I do, I prefer a cup that can take a straw without making me look like a fancy boy. Unless of course I am using the whiskey tumbler as it was intended. Then I strive to make Ron Swanson proud. Making Ron Swanson proud is exactly what this place would do! It's rustic, and has HUGE slabs of beef. It doesn't get much better than that. Unless you wrap the steak in Bacon of course. read more
