Enjoyed a 2 night stay at this delightful, quaint little hotel, with pub and restaurant, in close walking distance to the waterfront, the Old Dockyard, Gunwharf Quay, Spinnaker Tower, and a short, convenient bus ride to City Center, Clarence Pier, Portsmouth Cathedral, Old Portsmouth, the Millennium Promenade, and the Southsea shore-front Esplanade, all very worthwhile attractions. We were warmly welcomed and our room was very comfortable and quiet. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, (as are the pub patrons and most of the city's residents!) Each of the 10 rooms is unique and the common areas throughout this historic building are attractively appointed with maritime photos, pictures, artifacts, and books celebrating the city and its shipping industry. The restaurant provides a very hearty breakfast and in the evening, serves delicious English fare. read more
