It turned out that this place was actually a pretty decent size, and of course they happen to have a train that trundles around the pineapple field as well. Oh, and the price wasn't all that bad either. In a way, it turned out to be a pretty decent place to spend some time, particularly while waiting for the bus to come along.

If you wander up and down the Australian coast, you can't lose. But if you had to pick one place…read morethat was reachable and amenable, yet wild and spectacular, you would be hard-pressed to beat the sights at Noosa. While there are settlements at the river's mouth and along most of the coast, this park in between those two areas is a relatively untouched stretch of rainforest, rocks, and beaches that scream "tropical paradise". A trail runs along the water's edge through various small bays, paved for a stretch and then dirt and gravel. An athlete on a mission could probably run through in an hour, but there's no reason to rush, and it's quite easy to spend days here stopping at different sites each time. Separate paths run away from the water through forested areas (which don't have nearly the same views). Some of the water is swimmable (albeit unguarded), but I tend to be most engaged by the peace and quiet of water hitting sheer cliffs. One can't guarantee any particular wildlife will show up, but you're likely to see something interesting. There are wild koalas (though they tend to be sleepy and high in trees, so you have to be sharp-eyed), but also giant lizards, tropical birds, and an array of insects that provide an interesting soundtrack but are thankfully deterred from most of the path by wind. In the water, I've seen sea cucumbers, sea turtles, a manta ray, and more. In season there are reputedly whales to be seen as well. The weather is warm all year round, and you can drive (though parking can fill on prime vacation days) or take transit (which does take a while). Starting from the town of Noosa, you'll finish the hike with extensive views of the Sunshine Coast, needing either a ride back to the town or another walk through the park. The hike was relatively easy, some rocks in the trail and some areas where it was steep, but many of the steep areas had stairs. The views were absolutely breathtaking. We saw a koala napping in a tree as well as dolphins breaking the surface of the ocean near some stand-up paddle boarders.

I was excited to find someone who said they were good with beginners, advertised as no experience needed, however that was NOT the case with Scuba Steve. Upon arrival, he was going back and fourth with the other girls on the boat that they needed to pay more for two dives, as the advertised price was wrong online, he already seemed money hungry from the start. I was literally only able to do 10 min in the water before I found out scuba diving was not for me. I stayed on the boat and kept to myself for the next 4 hours, sea sick and regretful. I assumed that of course he would give me a discount as I was only in the water 10 minutes if not less, I used hardly any air or any of their time once I got sick. He agreed and told me he would discuss it later. When I called him he said he would give me $50 back which was not a lot since I spent 230$. Although I didn't feel that was fair to charge me for two dive sessions, when I hadn't even done one, I just wanted to get back whatever I could. When I called him to initiate charge back he changed his mind . He started to yell over me and would not even let me talk. Saying that there was nothing he could do, and going back on what he had originally said. We both know he could have easily given me back a measly 50$ back, but he refused and accused me of using all the air and said I got what I paid for, what a joke. I have never dealt with someone so unreasonable. How can you go back on your word like that? He made a lot of money on me considering I hardly did anything. I thought he would do the right thing since I did not get the experience I paid for. Steve has no customer service skills. He is strictly there to make as much money as possible. He knows he treated me unfairly and the cherry on the Sunday was being yelled at by a grown man. That is not how you treat customers. SHAME ON YOU STEVE! Also my friends air tank was leaking air when she was 20 feet deep under water... how janky is that?? On a side note I feel as though Mel was professional, patient, and sweet. I hope he doesn't yell at her like he yelled at me on the phone.

You're welcome to swim in the pool below the waterfall. There are two separate entrances to the falls. They connect by a bush walk, but do to resent floods, you are not able to walk through at the moment. The only way to the falls is the Quorn road entrance. There are picnic tables and BBQs at both sites. There is a restaurant at the northern entrance. It's open Wednesday to Sunday. For lunch. I'm looking forward to trying it out. It's a lovely park. Quite and beautiful. Very luck to have a little gem in our own backyard!

Located right on the water (with a private beach) there are many and vast outside areas meaning you'll always find a secluded area for yourself or a large group. On offer are water sports (no not that kind!) and a "circus school". The only meal I had that I know for sure was part of the resort (and not prepared specially for us) was a buffet style lunch. Whilst everything was nice there was no stand out dish. I was told it would normally cost $27 which I guess is reasonable. Whilst the rooms were spacious and clean (apart from the pervious guests survey still left in the room), I found them dated. The beds were very soft (which I like) however its not every ones cup of tea. The door to the bathroom (in rooms) had a shutter panel. Now maybe some people don't mind others hearing others bathroom/shower noises but I was staying in the same room as my boss... enough said. Overall, I would recommend for families or couples.

There are some great things about this place. First, it's a beautiful location with lots of…read moreoutdoors areas for people to relax in, a private "beach" and lagoon, as well as fairly quick access to the ocean. There's also a pool and spa (though they have quite restricted hours and the spa was turned off at like 5pm or something?!), and a variety of watersports (kayaking, sailing, etc) on offer. One of my favorite things, which I'd never seen before, is that they give you credit (I believe it was $15/day) if you don't have your room cleaned. That being said that they have this awesome program, they don't make it easy to use and there are a lot of restrictions (max 3 nights total, but only 2 nights consecutive; said maybe could only be used for room service but then we were able to use it at the fast food counter). You have to call before 5 the night before to "activate" then put out a little card in your door. But they often didn't answer the phone and didn't necessarily give us the credit when they should have, and took the card away at one point...in the end, we were happy to get the max $45 credit and get some free food, but I think we had to go to the desk about 4 times about it, so others may not find it worth the hassle. I guess that illustrates my overarching impression with this place - it sells itself as a luxury resort and it has some great bones for that but really lacks in service and execution. Lots of people had trouble with their key cards and access to rooms. The staff didn't always seem knowledgeable about what was going on (we got the runaround about some things like how to access the kayaks). It's quite isolated, so you're pretty limited food-wise to what is on offer there, which may be an issue if you have special dietary requirements. (I was ok as a vegetarian, but my vegan friend really struggled.) The rooms were a bit odd (like you could only turn on the bathroom light with another light in the main room...not ideal at night when your roommate is sleeping!) and just felt a bit dated. I was there for a conference, and it was really a gorgeous, relaxing spot and we were busy with stuff the whole time, so it was fine. Personally, I wouldn't go there on vacation unless all you want to do is sit by the pool. Or maybe as a family? (I don't know if they have kids activities.) We were excited about some of the things like the kayaks until we realized that it took us about 5 minutes to paddle the whole length of the allowable area and there wasn't much more to see after that. Just a bit limited and isolated, without true luxury or high-class service.
