I really didnt have a vision of what I wanted the invitations to look like, so she walked me through various options, step-by-step. She helped to create a vision for me. She was willing to give ideas and suggestions while still staying focused on my preferences. Kari designed several initial invitation proofs and then would change any little detail to suit my style. We went back and forth until it was absolutely perfect. They look extremely high end, while still being affordable. She was always professional, kind, and willing to do anything to make the customer happy. I would definitely recommend Kari for any invitations or paper needs. She was wonderful to work with and creates an outstanding product that I was proud to share with all my friends and family.

For my daughter's wedding invitations and other paper needs, we were looking for a Chicago-area…read moreartist who would use his or her own artwork as a motif to provide continuity throughout all of the paper pieces. We found many wedding paper people who help you look through what's available but are not artists themselves. The ones who do incorporate their own artwork tend to lean toward a casual line-drawing look, whereas we wanted something pretty sophisticated. So we didn't have many people to choose from and were about to hire someone when we found Kari Kileen, who works out of Decatur and whose prices were significantly lower than those of the first person we considered. Kari's website showed just the type of thing we were looking for, so we asked her to work with our ideas and colors and see what she could come up with. She did all of that at no charge. To keep the price low, instead of having her create a design just for us, we opted for a motif that was her own design but she'd used before. Kari was so gracious and accommodating, plus she was really speedy. She responded immediately to email, and we also had a few phone conversations. When she shipped us the paper pieces she made sure they were protected. One of the boxes ended up sitting in the rain until I got home to bring it in, and all of the paper stayed dry. We had Kari provide my daughter's pocket invitations, wedding program, menu, place cards and thank-you notes. She also did our calligraphy. It all turned out beautifully. The only negative was that there were some typos, so we had to carefully check the pdfs of the various proofs and also the addressed envelopes. Again, though, Kari was gracious and immediately replaced the envelopes we needed done over. I would maybe drop the rating one-half star because of this issue, but I don't think it's right to drop it down to four stars. Kari provided a lot of value for the price. I think she'll soon be in so much demand that she'll raise her prices. I wish her the best, because she's efficient, talented and a nice person.
