I always felt good about leaning my son in their care. If your thinking of enrolling, do it. I feel so very lucky to have found the Goddard School for my two kids. They both have great memories of their time there and were so well prepared for kindergarten. We had a wonderful 2.5 years at Goddard. I think our son learned a lot and is well ahead of where he needs to be going into kindergarten. I absolutely love this school and couldn't imagine taking my daughter anywhere else. The teachers work together to create a fun, safe environment for children in every age bracket. I've watched my daughter learn and grow weekly! It's amazing what happened with her language skills, playing with friends, using silverware, potty training...it's really a wonderful part of her day. Our daughter who is 14 months attends The Goddard School. Every morning when my wife and I drop her off we have complete calm and 100% confidence in her teachers and the staff as a whole. I have never written an online review but thought this was the one time it was worthy of my time. Our daughter is the most important thing in the world to us and we couldn't be any happier with a daycare. Goddard was a great choice for our family. We moved our son to Goddard from a different school and it has been a terrific fit for him. We are two busy working parents and Goddard has been able to accommodate all of our shifting schedules. Socially and academically, he is shining. We are thrilled with his academic growth since he started Goddard, but the win for us is when he pops out of bed smiling asking if it is a school day. This is what happened on my 1 year old daughter's first day at the SK Goddard School: *A lead teacher in the room struck my child in the head with a door with such force my child was knocked to the ground. The impact of the door caused a large bruise on my child's forehead and she is showing head trauma/concussion symptoms. *No one called me or my wife to inform us of the injury *My wife arrived for pick up 10 minutes after the accident, and the lead teacher who caused the injury had already taken off, again without calling either of us and letting us know what happened, let alone remaining onsite to tell us in person. *My wife received limited information about the injury when she arrived and was not immediately told what had happened. *My child will not be going back. We asked for our deposit for the month back, and did not get it. When things go astray, as in my case, you learn the true character of an organization. We spent that night in the hospital, and my child will not be returning to the SK Goddard School regardless of the status of my deposit. If I could give it less than 1 star, I most certainly would. read more

My daughter started at the South Kingstown Goddard School when they opened their doors in 2006. She was six months old then and graduated from Goddard in 2011. I was working full time and trying to finish up my doctoral degree when she was first enrolled. The owners and staff treated my daughter like she was family and did much more than just babysit her, but taught her how to communicate and learn through sign language and play at such an early age! This was so important to me, especially at that time when I was worried I couldn't give her enough of myself and we had no family in the area to help out. The staff was incredible, always giving detailed reports on her daily activities, feedings, diaper changes, and any accidental injury no matter how minor. I felt like I was getting special treatment, but I know they treat all of the students and their parents that way because I witness it every day. Since those early years, I have finished my degree and had a son. We enrolled our son when he was six months old as well and he is now almost 5 years old and will be graduating from Goddard this year. I am amazed at how much both of our kids have learned at such a young age. My daughter was reading small words and with help and encouragement she could sound out and often spell most any word you gave her during her last year at Goddard. She excelled in kindergarten last year, thanks to the wonderful staff and curriculum at Goddard. Our son's learning is progressing just as quickly if not faster than our daughter's learning. Our daughter has spoiled us with her good behavior, but our son is "all boy" and as rambunctious and ornery as they come. I have been very impressed with the way the staff has handled his excessive energy and occasional aggressive outbursts without being negative and providing him with positive reinforcement. I have often asked them for advice and successfully used their techniques at home. One of the best things about the owners and staff at the South Kingstown Goddard School is the commitment they have to their students and their communication with the parents. Anytime there is a perceived issue, they address it head-on and openly, making it a non-issue before it ever becomes a real concern. I highly recommend the South Kingstown Goddard School to anyone wanting to provide their children with an excellent early education and a safe nurturing environment to learn and grow. read more
