I have to admit, I was a bit on the fence when I decided on a whim to go get a tarot reading at this cozy spot right by my house. I'd never had one and had always been curious. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly, and they only take tips for the coffee - and it was yummy! Going into the tarot reading I didn't tell her ANYTHING about myself whatsoever, (I've heard that a lot of tarot readers try asking you a lot of questions before hand and that's how they do their reading, but she didn't do that at all. ) I just wanted to see what the cards said, and I will just say that the 30 minutes or so that I was back there gave me goosebumps. I love new age and metaphysical shops, and it is a dream of mine to open such a business one day. However, I would not likely model it after Goddess and the Moon. I was really looking forward to visiting the place, but was highly disappointed! First of all, the staff barely acknowledged my presence when I walked in, they just sort of smiled, but never asked how I was or if I needed any help finding anything... even though I was the ONLY person in the tiny store. The lighting was so low and dark, I could barely see anything and had to squint my eyes to read. The selection was greatly lacking and there is really nothing there as far as actual merchandise. What products they do have for sale is set up really oddly so that it's hard to get through the store or find things. Stuff was also really overpriced. :( Although I can't vouch for it, I suppose it would be an okay place to go for readings/healing/etc... However, as far as crystals, jewelry, books, etc., there are far better shops in the city. read more

But the one that got me writing a review was the fact that they are the only business in Nashville (quit possibly Tennessee) that still offers oxygen to outsiders. Came to town for a weekend getaway and I was really excited to visit this shop. When I arrived, there was a sign on the door that said they were doing readings and would reopen in 30 minutes. I came back an hour later and saw two other women walking in. I try to go inside and the door was locked. Confused, I stood there for a moment while a blonde woman inside just stared at me. I'm about to turn around when she opens the door and lets me in. She says that all the staff were in back and she didn't know what to tell me. A brunette woman walked up front just announces to everyone in the room, "I'm doing readings." She seemed irritated that she had customers. I told her I was from out of town and just wanted to shop, the other two customers desired hot tea. She didn't respond to any of us, just stood there with an unpleasant look on her face. I asked her if she wanted us to leave and she said nothing, just scowled. I suddenly just wanted to get the hell out of there and left with all the other customers right behind me. If you're closed or busy, then just say so. I would have been understanding. Attitude isn't necessary. Allow me to divine your future, Goddess and The Moon: Out of Business if you continue to treat customers with such rudeness and ridiculous mind games. It's interesting, first of all, that Google reviews are mostly negative. Hmmmmm. Also, this merchant books readings on its website and accepts payment via Paypal. I booked an hour reading and then. . . nothing. $120 and no acknowledgment, no call, no response whatsoever. I called Paypal and was told that they don't refund money for "intangible" services, but they did flag the business and took a complaint. I called the merchant and, in theory, obtained a refund. Very bad vibe about this merchant's reliability and professionalism. Don't care if Tish is the Oracle of Delphi. Getting ripped off is still getting ripped off. read more

I'm sure Tish is super awesome, but let me give you my experience as a customer who went in there to shop/explore/potentially get a reading while she WASN'T there. First, the kitchen which is right in front of your face was filled with trash and dirty dishes. I was confused as to who would want to purchase food/tea/coffee from there or why they thought that was acceptable. Secondly, the prices of their merchandise is ridiculously expensive. I understand for some it must have to be, due to the authenticity but I kid you not, there were picture frames that still had the hobby lobby paper in the frame and they had knocked the prices up to 40-65 dollars for a picture frame they clearly got at hobby lobby for $10 or less. I was in utter shock and it made me question the authenticity of the store. Finally, professionalism. When running a business that is so important. There was a child sitting on the floor of the kitchen on her phone, and the lady running the place was rude. I just would NOT recommend this for anything else than readings- as I cannot speak for that because Tish was not there when I was. read more
