They have thousands of items to choose from. You are sure to find at least one thing you love here. This small market is very nice and is always busy. They have everything from fresh meats and cheeses to seafood. They have a great hot/cold salad bar and a wonderful selection of high end items. It truly is the perfect spot for this upscale market. The sandwiches are freshly prepared and they are out of this world. They choose only the finest quality so you get what you pay for. They have an array of specialty items that you will not find at a typical market. If you have high standards and want more than just your average store, then this is your place. I was charged $15 for a very small plate of food, because the cashier charged my entire plate under tilapia. The cashier failed to tell me that he was going to charge me this extended amount until after I paid. As you can see, I had two very small pieces of this fish-so charging me $15 for my entire plate was a little excessive. I hope that in the future the cashiers will tell customers about separating the food groups before overcharging. read more

This place is a small local grocery store but also has lunch options. You can go to the deli counter and order a sandwich or plate some of their hot food at the buffet style counter. The food here is good can't complain about that. Their sandwiches are made fresh to order and taste very good. They are also decently priced for lunch. On the other hand, their buffet style counter is charged by the pound. So today for lunch I grabbed some pasta and some shrimp. It definitely weighed about a pound but pasta is heavy. They charged me almost $20 a lbs! My medium sized lunch ended up being $19. I guess you live and you learn but jeez this was supposed to be lunch not dinner! Cool Local Deli / Farmers market Always busy, Excellent selection of good products that are not available at the local supermarket. I ordered a truffle burger from here and I can't stress this enough, it was the WORST burger I have ever had in my entire life for that price. First of all, they ran out of truffles so they just dumped truffle oil on it, which I didn't find out about until I picked up the burger. The cheese was not melted at all and the bun was soggy from the truffle oil. The fries it came with were also extremely soggy, undercooked, and on top of that, cold. The whole meal fell apart in my hands as I tried to eat it and I had to finish the mangled remains of the burger with a fork. They didn't even give me ketchup to help scarf down the bland fries. This happened about 3 weeks ago and I was willing to give them another try, but I saw the burgers they were making and immediately left. Its a small farmers market in Key Biscayne, the food selection and deli area pretty good and from time to time they have Free brownie samplers at the register. Who knew this place was even here? Visibility from the street is awful. It's waaaay in the back of a strip mall on Harbor Dr. the first right once you arrive to Key Biscayne. If you see a 7-11 from the street, this is the same strip mall...you just need to go all the way back. It's kind of like Key Biscayne's Whole Foods or Fresh Market. Obviously, it's a lot smaller, but they have some nice things. Olive bar, bakery, wine, etc. Not a bad option to grab a bite or some groceries here. read more

I stopped in on a Sunday morning following a long jog up and down the Rickenbacker Causeway. I was searching for a place to eat breakfast and stumbled upon this place. It's a quaint and smallish version of a farmer's market with a gourmet grocery section, as well as deli and bakery stations. I ordered a French Ham sandwich from the deli, with cheese on whole wheat, which was pretty good. It isn't by any stretch a huge sandwich, but nonetheless delicious. I inhaled it pretty quickly. Its grocery store has some of the gourmet items you would see at larger farmer's markets, such as Boy's in Delray and Bedner's in Boyton Beach. While the size of this place pales in comparison to those places, it's a perfect size for Key Biscayne. It isn't often that I travel to this section of South Florida. Typically, it'll be for two reasons: I took out-of-towners to the Miami Seaquarium or I attended the Sony Erickson tennis event, which I love by the way. The array and variety of food products is unbeatable in the KB/Brickell area. I find everything from dried buttermilk to Beaujolais wines, to rare spices such as for peppernødder cookies. The fridge is stocked with different sodas such as French Lorina lemonade. It seems like a farmer's market with all the different and fresh produce. Many different dairy products to choose from, great creamy yogurts and cheeses. The aisles are euro-centric but well so. Their chocolate selection is excellent as well (not including the French candy wall at the entrance, merveilleux!) Carmichael the cheesemonger knows well how to pair you with exactly what you need and has a large variety to choose from. Good pairings are right in front such as jams, truffle honeys, and crackers. The deli and sandwich part is very good as well, there is definitely a sandwich for everyone. My personal favorite is the summer with Brie, mango chutney, apples, and ham. The salad bar and prepared foods is fresh and the menu changes daily. Prepared foods is very good and definitely a choice from everyone (there is always a choice of beef, chicken, fish, and pasta). Salad bar is also extensive. The bakery has a selection of Zak the Baker products as well as their own. The desserts are not very good and often too sweet (with the exception of the alfajores). But the tequeños, empanadas, and cookies from the jar are great, especially for an afternoon treat. Love their OJ machine and selection of teas. The service is always poor and they seem to not care very much because they have a monopoly on the Key! If someone opened up a place that actually cares about customer service they would bankrupt this place! Today was the last straw for me. I went in to get a sandwich and when I was paying the woman cashier didn't speak English. I told her I don't speak Spanish she began barking at me about "this is Miami and I should speak Spanish" not only with an attitude but with some unsavory words. I guess she didn't know I may not be fluent in Spanish but speak enough to hear her foul mouth. When I went and complained to the manager his only response was "our regular cashier didn't come in and I had to move her from her other non customer related job to cashier" As far as I can remember even though the Key has become very Latin, the fist language of the area is English and if you don't speak it then you should not be working out in front where there are still a few of us English speaking only spending our money! read more

Today I went to get coffee at this place which I do not know very well yet seemed very nice. As I was waiting for my turn to be waited on another man approached the counter and asked the lady for tea. I interrupted and said I was here first, yet the woman kept on waiting on this man and very rudely said to hd on. I could not believe the lack of customer service culture in this place. Ran into a very rude manager named Harold he claimed to be the operations manager today. Although I understand their sign on the door stating no rollerblades, I come from BRICKELL into the key and back and always stop here for a drink. The manager was very rude and chased me out. What bothers me at this store is the lack of customer service from the cashier! I gave it another opportunity today and it is unbelievable! They do not greet the customer, they take your money, give you the change or the receipt to sign, and not even a thank you! NO EYE CONTACT with the customer, they talk to each other and they totally disregard you. The food they have is great. Stuff they do not have anywhere else on the island. But the service is awful. We ordered Christmas dinner with all of the trimmings! The Beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection! The sides were delicious and the pies, key lime and pecan were delectable. I drove over from South Beach because I wanted a gourmet, bespoke meal for my family. Having been a long-time customer of Epicure I was delighted to discover The Golden Hog. Used to love this place. I give it 3 stars because the bakery is great! I love the Vietnamese steak sandwich but they don't consistently have it..I used to go there often until a few months ago. There was a young guy working there with a beard. I asked for a toasted sandwich. He made the sandwich and gave it to me in toasted. I reminded him it was supposed to be toasted..he rolled his Eyes turned his back and proceed to toast it and wrap it up. When we got home my sandwich unwrapped the sandwich and proceeded to eat it..he found a hair..he opened the sandwich and it was covered with tons of little hairs..I have no idea why it had so much hair (the young guy had a beard) but it was very gross.
