10/10 do not recommend. I lived here for 2 years in 2 separate apartments. Do you want an over priced apartment that hasn't been updated since 2010, With appliances that barely work and might've been nice when the apartments were built. Carpet so worn it's separated from the threshold with spots where you can see every piece of furniture the previous tenant had. Plastic floor tiles that were put down with no grout. Do you love the smell of stale smoke from years of tenants smoking inside. You'll probably have mold in the caulk of the shower of an apartment you just moved into with cracks in the shower or tub. Breezeways dirty you have to sweep them yourself, handrails so gross you don't use them when going up or down the stairs. Bad communication from the management staff who will take advantage of you. If you even try to get out of your lease one month early, granted you gave over 90 days notice and you paid your rent on time every single month... They will still charge you rent until the day a new tenant moves in, even if their staff is in the apartment "cleaning" and "painting" while you're paying rent on an empty apartment.. even if they told you that you would be good... they'll just take it out of your deposit. Shouldn't have to pay rent while the maintenance crew is throwing a fresh coat of paint on an apartment that needs serious updates and new carpet. I did not have a good experience with this company. But if you like all of the things mentioned above this is the place for you. read more

Despite the other reviews you see on here I really enjoyed my experience living here. The property managers were always nice and helpful. This was 2019 to 2020. Every-time I needed maintenance on my air conditioning they came quickly and were respectful. Didn't have any issues with neighbors. Always felt safe because of the officers living there. I had no issues whatsoever. I hear the new property mangers there are helpful and nice as well, having so many friends that are still residents. read more

Apartments for the age are okay. Management is rarely around, document and photo everything as they will steal your deposit with false charges to clean or fix the apartments if you move out. read more

Lived here since 2013. Leaving as soon as possible! New management since mid 2019 has encouraged my decision to move. Grass is not maintained and when they do mow or trim trees and bushes they leave the clippings and branches on the sidewalks indefinitely. There are currently broken grills and mildew in the pool. There is currently a drag race strip being built on the fair ground property that will run the entire length of the Grand's property. They ha e also given R&L towing full autonomy to tow any vehicle without a current parking sticker, meaning they come out in middle of the night and tow your mom who forgot to put a temp pass in the window Less than 1.5 miles to R&L towings lot and pay &200 or more to get your car back. The management does not call to get these towed but rather have given R&L directive to patrol the parking lot and tow resident vehicles without current parking passes at there discretion. I can't wait to move! Sucks though I use to love it here. read more

Don't not rent from these people. We moved less then a year ago. While the apartment layout is very nice, the management staff however are not. Once you are in the quality goes down quickly. They have no regard for the quality of living for their residents. Most of the time the staff were never in the office. It seems they make their own schedule and come and go as they please. The rules of the complex do not apply to them. They are able to do what they want and when they want when it comes to the pool and guest. If they want to go into the pool at 12am with friends and alcohol they say it's okay because they are management and disregard the residents trying to get a decent night sleep. The property is owned by McClain Barr & Associates out of Summerville NC. Apparently they do not care about the staff either. We contacted them and the response was "Management can do what ever they want"! It's completely up to you if you want to live at a place like this, but I would not recommend this place or any of their properties to my friends or family. We did NOT like our experience in the time we were there. I wouldn't recommend living there. Our washer broke and it took 6 weeks to fix. When we first moved in the bathroom shower spout/diverter was broken and that took weeks to fix as well. Then midway throughout time there at The Grand new management came in. I have lived at The Grand for 6 months. As a retired single person downsizing my life it is perfect for me. I love my spacious apartment. My favorite room is my sunroom. I looked at many Apartment complexes in a 30 mile radius and this had the most to offer for the Rent. I feel very safe here. Many Police Officers, State Highway Patrol and other Law Enforcement Officers live here and their Cars are parked giving a sense of security. I have 2 small dogs and walk them sometimes late at night so safety and security is important to me. They are pet friendly with nice areas to walk dogs. I have found this is a very quiet and peaceful place to live. In 6 months there has never been any loud parties at all. So far all the residents I have met are very helpful and friendly. I could not ask for better neighbors. The Office Manager Lisa has been very helpful and always responds to needs. I have friends that are retirees downsizing their living style many have lived here for years. I plan to renew my lease and I hope to make this my permanent home. read more
