    Apple cobbler (vegan). (Special event)

This was my first time at Phoenixville's Great American Pub. It was many local guests' first time on their 2nd floor too. I have been to Conshohocken's twice and I like how they attempt to have delicious creative food combinations offering some quirkiness but the dishes I had didn't really fly for me. A special vegan event lead me to the Phoenixville one and I felt the care placed into the food needed to be written about. A vegan friend told me that this particular location offers more vegan options than other Great American Pubs. I have a tendency to try to avoid writing reviews for special events or events through work, but I've decided it's actually appropriate for me to write reviews on the vegan event series I attend since I am paying for the meals myself. However, I have to consider that since it's not only a personal dining experience, but also a personal dining experience under an organization that requests special accommodations for said venue, I aim to try to be careful not to ruin the relationship between said organization and the respective venues. In this case, after the meal, we were given a brief, heart warming story of how the owner's wife is vegan. So, he has an interest and skills in making vegan food. For the cauliflower soup, he used coconut milk slightly to make it seem creamy, I believe a vegetable soup base as well. The "crab" cakes, I cannot remember what he used and there was liquid leftover from making the soup that could be used to make the vegan but creamy "hollandaise" sauce. There was also an accompanying "cocktail" in which I am not sure how it was made nor remember the ingredients for the crab cake proper. It reminded me of the Mind Blown crab cakes you can get from frozen, except since everything is fresh, it's even better. The asparagus with the crab cakes was fresh. It felt like it was from the farm. Soooo on-point!! Last, but not least, the cobbler had a vegan and GF crust. The ice cream was made of oat milk. I want to say he said he used Oat-Ly, but I could not tell what brand he was saying for certain. The apple was reasonably warm with the cold ice cream. What a treat!! All of the items are off-menu. So if you really want what you see, you would have to special request it. I would suggest 1-2 weeks in advance if you wish to attempt this courageous feat. I feel lucky to be a part of the special event and the community.

I was looking for a chill place to grab dinner after a day of running errands and this definitely hit the spot. Very relaxed, chill atmosphere with great service and solid food. For an appetizer, we split the Bavarian pretzel. Queso wasn't my favorite but honey mustard was good. I got the herbivore sandwich which was huge. Difficult to eat, but fantastic flavor. Husband got the cheeseburger which he liked. The chips that came with both of our meals were good. Recommend if you're looking for a relaxed bar vibe.

Not pizza? More like not good

Hotter than hell wings were about as spicy as my grandmas thanksgiving turkey, straight up false advertising Fried pickles were very mediocre. Batter was solid but pickles has absolutely zero pickle flavor and could have been just plain cucumbers for all I know Bavarian pretzel was actually two pretzels and again both were mid. Pictures of the old pretzels looked awesome. Cheese sauce and mustard were delicious though Outdoor space is nice and spacious and live band was good on 6/27 so vibes were good but food was nothing to write home about Also would not recommend the not pizza (iced tea). Tasted like the stuff we would make in college with Vladimir vodka and dollar iced tea

Awesome outdoor area. Needs heat lamps around though. We stayed for part of the game and sone wings which they only offer half dozens, but left when it got cold after the sun went down.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA: as were were walking around the town, we were ready for lunch and spotted Great American Pub Phoenixville! What caught our eye was the very fun look to their outdoor patio. The first thing we thought of was a restaurant like at Great Adventure with themed decor. We sat at a table on a raised platform in its own little gazebo-like structure that has an awning, which was fun! Leashed dogs are allowed anywhere in the outdoor area and your server can provide a water bowl. The menu is American with also very nice vegan options. There are drink specials and entertainment throughout the week too. We really enjoyed the food and vibrant atmosphere.

    Pierogies

My friend and I recently went to Great American Pub for drinks and apps, choosing to sit at their outdoor bar. We decided to order the pierogies and Nashville hot chicken nachos. The pierogies were good. They were cooked nice and crispy and paired with a flavorful kielbasa. The addition of the caramelized onions brought the whole dish together. The nachos on the other hand, fell short of expectations. Chicken lacked the desired crispiness and there was not enough buffalo sauce, leaving the dish somewhat bland and lacking in flavor. In terms of the service, the bartender was friendly and the food came out in a reasonable time. I would consider going back to try other menu items but I'm not in a rush to return.

File this one under "places I keep walking past and have no idea why don't go in." Lion and I decided one cloudy afternoon to go in, and we're glad we did. It was an off time, in between brunch and dinner on a Sunday, and so it was relatively uncrowded. The restaurant occupies the first floor of a historic building that was once a hotel. Instead of one big dining area there are different rooms, two in the front, then you pass through to a large airy bar/dining area that then opens up to a patio with a fountain. I can imagine that patio being a popular place in spring and summer. We were seated in a comfy booth in one of the front rooms, with a bar across from us. Everything was clean and there was a good mix of modern with vintage/antique, a very cool vibe overall. We were given our menus quickly and then our drinks. Lion got the hamburger, which he declared quite good. I took our Yelp community suggestion and go the Fayetteville Chicken Sandwich, which is definitely out of my usual and was quite tasty. I generally avoid chicken breast sandwiches as most restaurants don't execute them well, this one was definitely an exception. It wasn't the very best I've ever had but it was tasty and not either very dry or so moist it's dripping. Our one off note perhaps was that service was somewhat uneven, we were in between the usual lunch and dinner times, however it was disconcerting enough to flag someone down, and while I am reluctant to ding on service, there were folks standing around and the bartender could see us, so, sigh, one star off. It hurts a little to do that. We'll go again, for sure.

My experience here was definitely impacted by slow and poor service. They caused me to miss a memorial service, even though i mentioned on numerous occasions from the get go that I needed to be gone in 45 min... and was assured it was not an issue. Sorry but tipped appropriately in this case. The burger was above average, but since i had to inhale it I can't say I enjoyed it all that much. The outside seating is is nice - but the weird self contained, covered "rocker" tables for 4-6 folks are not necessarily comfortable. We'll see if another visit turns things around.

Fried Mozzarella $10 for 4. Pricey but delicious!

Not a bad place to have a meal. The service was friendly but a little slow. I recommend the fish tacos.

Great drinks and very cute patio, but not my fave food or the best service experience…read more We ordered two of their October special cocktails. They were great and very cute and Halloween-y. We split chicken nachos, I ordered the Impossible burger with a Cesar salad, and husband ordered the bbq brisket Mac and cheese. The good: portion sizes were massive. We both took home enough food to be an additional meal. Salad was also very fresh. Unfortunately the chicken and brisket were very dry. Mac and cheese was super oily, like sitting in a bowl of oil. Service was also very slow. I would come back for a drink on the patio, but probably skip anymore food.

It pains me to write this as a longtime resident of Phoenixville and fan of Stable 12, but the…read moreservice has really gone down hill this past year and I hope with some awareness it can be turned around. The food is still very good, but the past three visits service was very slow for us and it has taken almost an hour to get our food. Our appetizers and meals have come out at the same time. What really jarred us was what occurred on our most recent visit a few weeks ago. During this visit our server/bartender gave me a second cocktail with an orange slice that someone had taken a bite out of (and it was not me ). So, he had clearly dumped someone else's older drink contents into another glass and gave it to me with the Old Fashioned mixture or he bit the orange himself. I was halfway through my drink when I finally noticed or I would have said something right away. Yikes!
