So many nautical nods in the decor-rustic coastal-in sort of an 80s/90s way (love). You can almost taste salt in the air-you expect the Gorton's fisherman to walk in. Yes, I could settle in here for a while. And I did. There are chalkboard drink choices on the walls-and a large menu. Happy hour and daily specials add to the options. I asked my friendly and helpful server to help me choose. She was spot on. The onion rings basket was a thing of true beauty. That batter is incredible-so light, so melts-in-mouth good. I'd go back for them alone. (and to try the hush puppies and fried green tomatoes) But then came the main event: a gorgeous piece of fried haddock that hung wayyyy off the bun on both sides-and loads of tasty fries. I swapped out coleslaw for green beans. What a feast! This is a lot of food! And every bit of it was really tasty. The haddock was huge-and so well cooked. It was tender-flaky-with another light batter, that complimented the fish perfectly. I ditched the bun and ate it with a knife and fork. It was just yummy. The fries had a good crunch to them and the bowl of green beans was deep. This is a massive value for money! Oh! And the margarita was good, too! A little tangy-I like that! (There's a full bar area, if you care to belly up) My sweet server was easy to talk to and super efficient. She knows the menu inside and out-and reads her customers well and early. The restaurant was cozy and comfy-it's a casual spot, but well tended and very clean. You really do forget that the busy world is right outside the door. There's tons of parking, but beware on super rainy days-there are low spots in that lot. The water came up fast while I was there and another server warned us to check our vehicles and move them, if needed. We were highly recommended this place since everyone knows we love the great catch in Zeph. The service here is super friendly, the drink specials are a great option however we went two weeks ago and the onion rings were frozen but their menu said fresh?! I was confused. I took this place off our list. We attempted to go back again yesterday because my uncle wanted a lobster roll and wanted to spend time with the family. He ordered the lobster roll that was $50 then he was charged extra for side dishes that the menu already said came with them. I questioned the server and they said they asked whoever was in charge and they told her he said it was known as premium sides. These are basic sides and their menu no where listed premium sides as an option. I understand a soup maybe more but he ordered sweet potato fries and a potato, the soup was a third choice for this roll. $54 for a foot long lobster roll is insane and then to be charged for 6-8 fries and a small potato as premium sides. Please stop changing the menu. My husband wanted to ask for a manager to complain but we just left. We will go back to Zeph where nothing has changed. It's located in a strip mall and definitely has a bit of a "hole-in-the-wall" feel, but don't let that fool you--this place is spotless. I was genuinely impressed to see a staff member deep-cleaning tables between guests. I have a gluten allergy, and the staff were great about helping me find a safe option. I ordered the jumbo mahi taco with no tortilla as a modification to avoid gluten. There was a $.99 upcharge to substitute the side to avoid gluten which felt a bit silly, but the meal was delicious and well worth it. My husband ordered the shrimp basket, and it was excellent--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Overall, great service, extremely clean, and really tasty food. The fried shrimp were fantastic. Light and crispy and cooked in fresh oil so the breading didn't overwhelm the shrimp. My wife had the lobster bisque and crab cakes. The flavor of both the lobster and the crab came through. Prices were great for 2026. Or waitress Tiffany was courteous and very attentive. Server was cold and was basically like a robot took our order brought our food. Saw an Instagram post about this place so decided to check it out. The restaurant is located inside of Avay strip mall. The website indicated that reservations were recommended so I made a reservation online. When we arrived, there was no need to utilize the call ahead that was done because seating was available immediately. The restaurant is spacious and clean. One note on the bathroom the soap dispenser was broken and the floor was a bit sticky. Our waitress was friendly and professional. We placed our order for drinks, appetizers, and entrées at the same time. That was probably a bad decision because our food was not timed appropriately by the kitchen. We received our appetizers and within 2 minutes we received our entrees. This caused us to rush through our meal to try to eat it while it was still hot. However, my baked potato was just warm. Also, the lobster bisque was sent back because it was too salty. That was taken off of our bill. The green beans and seafood casserole were under salted, but that is better than being too salty. We had a wonderful experience here! We walked in and were seated immediately with no wait, which was a great start to the evening. To begin, we ordered the fried green tomatoes and fried gator, and both were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. For my meal, I ordered the fried shrimp dinner--wow! It came with a huge portion of shrimp, and the batter was perfectly seasoned and crispy. My son ordered a burger, my husband had the grilled grouper, and my other son got the lobster mac & cheese. My husband said the grouper was very fresh, and the lobster mac & cheese had large chunks of lobster and was another very generous portion. It's sad when a great restaurant becomes an average to poor one. I gave 3 stars for the Clam Chowder. It was creamy, flavorful with nice size calms. We were a table of 3, each ordered the Haddock with baked potato dinner. Haddock was nicely fried but small portions for dinner plate. The baked potatoes were cold and tasted reheated, perhaps from yesterday. The restaurant temperature was so cold that the food got cold very fast. The temperature was uncalled for, no reason to freeze the customers. I could hear other customers complaining about temperature and nothing was done. When I came in i waited just a couple of mins for the waitress to come back up to the front. She seated me right away. Not too long after I was seated my male waiter came over and asked what he could get me to drink. I just wanted a water and he walked away so quickly I had to almost pause him so i could put in my order of calamari. I was a little shocked because it was my first time there and in most cases the waiter will ask you have you been there before, before telling you a little about the menu and I didn't receive any of that during my experience. There was several times where i would go a long time without seeing him. The second time he came around he asked me if I wanted to order food. Mind you I hadn't even received my calamari yet. I politely declined and told him I wanted to wait until after i received my app. By now I was starting to feel some type of way and ready to leave because it seemed as if I was being rushed or he didn't want to service me. But since I was already there i went ahead and ordered my lobster roll. Soon as I finished I immediately asked for my check because I didn't want to spend another min in there. Some of my other observations I noticed is that the floors were filthy, looks like they only clean the table tops and not underneath when they turn tables because there was all kinds of leftover food, straw wrappers on the floor and not to mention how sticky it was. And my last observation was that they sat myself and 2 other black families all in a row, im not sure if this was coincidence or because of anything else, but it kind of made me raise my eyebrow while also observing who i think was the manager circle around to certain tables to check in on their experience and not all the tables. All in all I'm not sure if I would come here again just on the customer service alone but the food was good so if you like seafood you should go for that. read more

I opted out for the lobster meet scampi over linguine with garlic bread. First I had to ask for my garlic bread it was brought to me one slice of regular bread toasted. Disappointing. Secondly I had three pieces of lobster in my meal, my pasta was not hot and it was clumpy. I told our waitress I knew it was not her fault however I did expect something to be done about it I gave her back my my plate and she said she would tell the kitchen. Course nothing was said and nothing was done about my meal. I received my bill of $45.17 of which was just ridiculous. I will not by any means suggest anyone going to this restaurant. My husband saw an ad on FB for, The Great Catch by Taste of Boston, and decided to take us there for lunch. I was a bit apprehensive when I saw the place. A smallish entrance in a not to nice looking strip center. ( never judge a book by its cover. Lesson learned) The atmosphere was nautical themed. Lights down a bit made it very cozy. Several large screen TV's were playing different channels. Everything looked clean, a bit old fashioned, but very nice. We were seated by a very nice, cheerful waitress named Alayna. The menu's have seen better days but were easily read. Alayna took our drink request and hurried away. People began arriving, filling booths and tables. I only saw Alayna taking care of the guests. She was very quick attending everyone, yet maintained her cheerful attitude. She returned with our drinks, took our orders and headed away. I will admit, I was taken aback with the prices. Yes, they were a bit high for lunch but we were even happier when our huge pile of food arrived. I ordered clam strips. They were very lightly covered in a thin batter that didn't disguise the flavor of the clam strips. The meal came with a hefty amount of fries, also lightly coated in a tasty dusting of flavoring. The meal came with coleslaw too. My husband ordered a hamburger...a monster of a burger! A pound of meat, with lettuce, tomatoes and other additions. He couldn't even fit his mouth over it! We also ordered crab bites which were ok. We ordered French onion soup too. The soup was fantastic! None of that greasy stuff or fake tasting stuff used at other places. I ordered grilled basa with a baked potato and cup of lobster bisque. the lobster bisque was thick and tasted weird not at all like I've ever tasted and not a piece of lobster in sight. my grilled basa was swimming in grease and was like a salt lick, same for my husband and my baked potato was raw. We had been to this restaurant a couple of other times when they were in their old location down the road on our trips to Lutz. It was always good and they were always busy. Our first clue should have been that they were not busy on a weekend during the dinner hour. The staff was friendly and very efficient. The food was okay, nothing special. Expensive for the food that you get. We had the seafood casserole, the shrimp basket that was the "special", and the crabcake bites. No drinks. Our dinner came to $80. The shrimp basket, we could have gotten at Captain D's for a 1/3 of the price and it would have been just as good. The seafood casserole was good, but not worth $29! Being from New England, we were truly looking forward to this! We were met with kindness and cared for equally throughout our visit. Prices were market prices, as expected. I want everyone to try this place because my pallet is super particular when it comes to clam chowder and whole belly clams. The side in this Caesar salad, though, was a disappointment because it was like bagged lettuce with bottled Caesar dressing on top. They lacked any flavor that an onion would have. My fish resembled a cold chicken tender and the texture was rubbery and dry. We were the only person there besides one other table & the host/waitress/manager didn't check on us for over 25 minutes after our food arrived. Cute place in a strip plaza. The food was very good. Service was also spot on. Atmosphere was about what you'd expect, clean & nothing fancy. From what we could tell, the seafood was very fresh & hand breaded. That was a great surprise since so many of the times, clam strips are the frozen kind that are dumped out of the freezer and into the fryer. These clam strips had a very nice crispy batter-like breading & were delicious. The same breading was on the onion rings.... Light and crispy. The fries were also done perfectly; soft inside & crispy outside. The Buffalo shrimp were very tasty as well. The only thing that I wasn't crazy about was the fact that the plastic containers containing the tartar & cocktail sauces were left on the tables at room temperature. Mayonnaise at room temp for any length of time is a big no-no, so even though I wanted it on my clam strips, I decided against it. This is probably something they should address. read more

Picked the great catch based on yelp reviews and it showing up in a foodie list. We had a party of eight, and we're very happy with the service and all of our dishes. My wife had the foot-long lobster roll and was very impressed with the quality. We live have the year in New England so getting a good lobster roll is important. I tried the catfish dinner and it was great. The fish was cooked perfectly, and my sides. We're all prepared well. Two of group tried Basso Fish? First and foremost, the service was disappointing. The staff seemed indifferent and inattentive, making us feel like an afterthought rather than valued customers.
