I came to Maque after seeing so many great reviews on TikTok and Yelp and was really excited to try…read moreit for lunch. It was surprisingly empty for a Monday, so we thought it would be a great time to visit. We were seated and placed our order at 1:21 PM. Our drinks didn't arrive until about 20 minutes later, and our food took nearly 50 minutes. The timing was especially frustrating because there were very few people dining at the time. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the food was actually really good. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the experience. During the wait, none of the staff checked in on us, apologized for the delay, or gave us any updates. Instead, several employees were sitting on their phones while we waited. To make matters worse, another group that was seated after us received their food in about 15 minutes. I'm not someone who usually leaves negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt it was worth sharing. I'm hoping this was just an off day because the food has a lot of potential. As it stands, I'm not sure I'd recommend it or return the next time I'm in Mexico City.
