I love that they placed a willow tree here since they it provides shade. The path is smooth. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy. I didn't see a designated parking area and so I parked on the right side, it's located on a packed street with houses on the left side. I had fun at this place!

I loved most that there were so many folks there: having picnics, learning how to perfect their roller skating skills, and simply gawking at all of the gates covered in artistic, glass, and beaded masterpieces. The live music was a nice surprise, as well as the arena covered in Houston street signs. Every head turn greeted me with original and unique art ond display: speedometers, affirmations of the power of love, and even dancing mermaids and skeletons engaged in intense conversations. I loved it all! Glad that the winters are mild enough to enjoy this park all year long.

Just Talent, Talent, Talent! The performances were…read moreamazing... especially the acrobatics and aerial acts. Every act kept us engaged and the energy throughout the show was incredible. A perfect outing filled with laughter, the jokers made me forget the reality of life and transported me into a world full of simplicity and joy! They had popcorn, souvenirs, and slushy drinks as well!! Kids will definitely enjoy this more than anything.

FLIP CIRCUS!! We…read moreventured out to enjoy the circus on a rainy evening. The performers were entertaining. Illusionists, acrobats, comedians, you name it! The performances defied gravity and often times came close to giving me a heart attack! It was intense in the BEST way! My +1 enjoyed herself and came close to a heart attack as well lol...no worries though because we are both well. Shoutout to the Flip Circus band too, they kept us entertained! The entertainers are very talented and did a great job of engaging with the audience. Now, please note that some of the performers brought audience participants onto the stage and some of them got really involved with water and popcorn being thrown into the audience. Something to consider depending on where you're seated. We were not impacted but it was hilarious to see (because it wasn't me- sorry to those people). The seats were a bit uncomfortable though. All in all, this was an entertaining event. Family friendly as well. We enjoyed our evening! Shoutout to Jando, Yelp Houston, and the Flip Circus band/performers!!!!!!!

although this was a last minute invite, the event was well organized!…read more the day was absolutely perfect for the event style. the weather was phenomenal. some sun, a breeze, and a nice cocktail = perfect way to close the day. they passed hors d'ouevres : lamb chops, tuna tartare, beef something, a mini chicken taco, and crispy fried tofu. they also offered two signature cocktails, but had a mini full bar (just the basics) the layout was open and airy; however, the layout of the art work was sad. i feel that the event staff could have arranged the sculptures to enhance the aesthetic of the event and also.. spotlight the art work. everything was very neat and organized.. but very sterile in terms of aesthetics. i was disappointed to find out that there wasn't any desserts but i realize that at a lot of events no longer offer desserts. so sad. they passed those same hors d'oeuvres the entire event. i was definitely bored after the first half hour with the food, but the people and the cocktails kept me entertained! this was a very professional event, and the focus was definitely on mixing and mingling. i met some really cool people. thank you yelp for working hard to put events together for the elite community! c.

Flash Fun- Last Min ALL-STAR event. This was truly a spare…read moreof the moment, on the spot experience. I didn't read the late night email until the day after, which was the day of the event. Glad that Yelp a was rapid with the response, and I was able to attend, with only a 90 minute notice and reservation. I haven't' been to the Cistern since Farrah was the CM and we held a yelp event here to visit. My Highlight moment! It was a real treat meeting the local artist Betirri who wore this beautiful gold FIFA brooch that he collected from Moscow Russia, in a trade. I have a brooch I will trade with you too. Did you know that Betirri is the artist who designed the 230 feet long World Cup mural? Which is the longest World Cup mural, which take months to complete. It's called the "Gateway Mural". Find it at Harrisburg BLVD. A mural that presents a part of each country united. I can't wait to see it! Drinks and Treats: I was informed that Café Natalie was the caterer. I started with cucumber infused water, which had the appearance of lemonade, and a sweet taste like it as well. Way better and sweeter than predicted. 5/5 for sure. Watermelon pop 3/5 I loved the circler watermelon bites, not a fan of blue cheese. Beautiful presentation though. Chicken Tinga Taco 8/5 I love these baby bite tacos! So pretty & tasty. They were prop up on two lime slices for display. Tuna tartar wonton cone, 5/5 were like a tiny cone egg roll, not really a big fan of tartar tuna, but these beauties look to pretty to eat, and had the perfect deliverance of crisp and flavor; just like the Tinga Tacos. In Minds (2001-2002) by British artist Tony Cragg are two monolithic sculptures that stand outside…read moreof the Hobby Center. It is a fascinating piece of art with a biomorphic profile that changes continually as you moves around it. So interesting to try to make sense of the shifting and distorted forms. As you walk towards the sculpture, human faces reveal themselves and then seem to disappear only to reappear in a different form at a different angle which is classic for Cragg's artwork. Nice to visit the fluid sculpture in Downtown Houston.

This was a great experience even though the start was a bit rocky. I took my daughter to have a…read morelittle bonding time. It was her first circus experience and she loved it. All the acts were really good and there were plenty of oooos and ahhhhs Apparently their generator went out when we were there so it got really hot really fast. At first they didn't say anything so when getting snacks and drinks they kept telling us 5 minutes till they would have sodas. Well 5 turned into 10, turned into 15, then turned into 20. They finally had someone come in and let us know it was out and that a new one was on the way and asked us to be patient because "the show must go on" and it did. Several people left but I'm glad we stayed. The looks on my daughter's face made it all worth it. The seats are uncomfortable and really close together. They fold down and I'm a larger person so i was scared it would break but i didn't. That coupled with the fact there was no ac in the Texas heat is what took one star away.

I returned to the box office a second time to wait 15 more minutes at the box office window itself. I do not know why it took so long. The line grew that much more because I was at the window for such a long wait. As we entered the tent we immediately felt the warm temperatures which was strange as I noticed the box office was comfortable in their AC trailer. On top of the warm temperature, tardiness of the show, and box office issues, there was no security presence nor was there a medal detector at the entrance which made me feel uneasy. I did not feel safe with the amount of people crammed into their carni-made tent sitting on bleachers that over-looked down onto the parking lot pavement. At 7:27 we decided to leave since the show had not stated.

I figured this movie was a comedy given the title: "Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass". I can relate since if you're in a relationship, the topic of celebrity sex pass has come up which reveals which celebrity you would commit adultery with as you're in a committed monogamous relationship. I probably should've gone in with the mindset of not taking the movie seriously. Basic plot: A woman named Gail Daughtry decides to go to Hollywood to have sex with her celebrity crush after certain events transpire between her and her fiance that compell her to do this. Spoiler alert: Her celebrity sex pass is with Jon Hamm. Good choice obviously. There's a ton of randomness in this movie with plenty of random cameos and namedrops of pop culture references and people. I'm not familiar with the main actress and there were a lot of cheesy dialogue that did not land with me. Admittedly, I did not enjoy the movie while watching it but after thinking about it a few days later, there were some parts I remember that now make me chuckle. It's best to watch this film with the mentality of not taking the film seriously as the movie is silly, wacky, random, and definitely unrealistic with the plot. I do give credit to the actress Zoey Deutch as she had quite the performance here. I'd be open to watching this again now that I know what to expect with it. Getting in and out was pretty smooth and I appreciate the cleaniliess of the theatre. Thank you Yelp team, loved the event (even though I wasn't crazy about the movie). I thought it was very ironic that Jando brought world's cup theme Yelp swag on the same night USA team were playing in the World Cup. No I don't follow the World Cup games, but it was major talk on 97.9 the box, (who was at previous Yelp movie night for The Mummy). Plus I never seen Yelp swag at any Yelp movie night. This was perfect! Thanks Jando! Jando dropped off the swag and bounced out quick. I noticed this was my review #999, but the number didn't update when writing my next review afterwards, so I change it to review number 998. (Otherwise Yelp movie and The Magick Cauldron both were 999. Yelp and their glitches, iykyk) I really like the story line this film, this film isn't something I would've watch. But it's also something you cannot predict, which I did appreciate. Expect the unexpected just like the Big Brother show. Overall it was a cool corny comedy. Almost like the hangover. But the hangover is a film I'll watch repeatedly and even find myself quoting. "But did you die?" **Even when I try to write this short, it still comes out a bit lengthy.**

The owner was so sweet and hilarious actually, she plays all day lol. They served us an array of samples, including sugarcane juice, mango tea, and chicken, tofu and pork banh mi. My favorite sample was the egg rollsssss, delicious!!! I tried a few of their menu items (popcorn chicken and mangonada boba - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) but what I really enjoyed about this experience is that it was Yelp-ified (yelp bags, swag, napkins - so cute!) and that I was able to connect with and talk to Jando, Mary and so many others in Houston that are apart of the Yelp Community :))))) Excited to be able to connect again! Fun time!!
