Stopped in at The Great Outdoor Grill food truck today and had an excellent lunch. We had the Steamed Vegetables, Grilled Seasoned Dark meat Chicken, over cooked Brown Rice with Teriyaki Sauce and Sesame Seeds. The Steamed Vegetables were perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of crispy goodness left in them; although it doesn't show in the photos, under the steamed vegetables is a very generous portion of perfectly seasoned and flame grilled dark meat chicken, under that is a generous layer of perfectly cooked Brown Rice. I call the meat perfectly seasoned because it was not overcooked and it was not overly seasoned. The Brown Rice was perfectly cooked in that it was not sticky or dry and it had a nice nutty texture. The Teriyaki sauce, Soy sauce and Sera-chi is available on the counter to be applied according to one's taste. Although I have not tried it the owner of the truck offered my wife and I samples of the curry sauce they offer, which is available over the same offering that we had, it was one of the best Curry sauces I've tasted. He informed us that it was made with a coconut milk base. He also informed us that they're offering Special Tacos on Tuesdays, we are looking forward to returning for that next Tuesday. They have a variety of soft drink offerings. There are a few shaded picnic tables that make for a nice place to enjoy the meal or you can do like most of the hospital employees just grab it and go. If they had a higher than five star review I would have given them a higher review. read more

We're always on the lookout for healthy, delicious options so we decided to give this food truck in East Medford a try. Michael ordered the chicken and said it was good, which I tastes and agreed. I ordered the grilled tri-tip salad. Taste od the tri-tip was good but it was cold rather than hot off the grill. The serving of both meats was generous, which we appreciated. My tri-tip salad had good ingredients but the lettuce was room temperature and wilted rather than chilled and crisp. If it's possible in a food truck to serve the tri-tip straight off the grill atop a chilled salad with a homemade dressing this would be da bomb. read more

The chicken didn't have much flavor, but was hot off the grill. The veggies we're incredibly fresh and tasty and the rice was cooked perfectly. Not a fan. Maybe I was unlucky as the reviews seemed generally good. My experience was not. Service was good. Options for a food truck were to be expected (limited). I had the chicken bento. Service was prompt and food came out quickly. Brown rice was the only option. Not a rice fan in general but I really don't like brown rice. Having the option of rice would have been nice. The chicken wasn't great. It was grilled on the back of the cart but I had small particles on my chicken that resembled grill gunk. It was more than one tiny piece. Huge turn off. I actually didn't finish the bento because of that and didn't care to haggle. The sauce was okay - more sweet than anything. I just didn't care for it. Given the grill gunk, it probably would have been better. The biggest turn off, came from the guy preparing the food. Can we just stop with the politics? Whoever the dark skinned fella was, he was wearing a ban CRT shirt. Stop with the politics. Just stop. Serve food. Consider serving white rice (or not). Clean your grill better and leave the politics for the pub or legislature. read more

My husband and I ate at The Great Outdoor Grill when it was parked at the Craft Brew Festival this last weekend. We hadn't eaten all day, and were super glad there was some type of food at the event since there was tons of beer! We picked this food truck over the other one that was there (a cheese steak place) and we were really happy we did! The food was great, good portions, and a good price too! They had 3 offerings for the brew fest: Chicken teriyaki, teriyaki veggies, and thai veggies, all with brown rice. I had the teriyaki chicken, and my husband had the thai veggies. Both choices had a good amount of food, and were $6 each. I was really impressed with my chicken teriyaki! It was really good, and they had this great sweet teriyaki sauce to put on it that was stellar! I don't typically order teriyaki because usually the chicken has too much gristle, however here the chicken was really lean and had great flavor as well! I would definitely order the chicken teriyaki again. The thai veggies were good as well, however the vegetables were a bit on the underdone side. That being said, the thai curry sauce was good, and my husband seemed to like it as he ate the whole thing. The guys that worked here were super friendly and fun to talk to as well, so if I go to another event where they are parked, I won't hesitate to come back! read more

Seriously amazing bento. The words that came to mind while I was eating it were "healthy Thai comfort food." The menu is very simple -- one or more combinations of brown rice, veggies steamed to order, teriyaki chicken and amazing coconut curry peanut sauce. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are quite generous. Gets busy around peak lunch hours but the wait times are pretty minimal. The owner seems to rock the food out pretty quickly and I've never had to wait for more than about five minutes. read more

With all the food they cram into the box, you can get 2 meals out of the 1 order. Most bento-style places give you a lot of rice with a little meat and veggies, but not here.
