Great service! Chai was good. Banana bread was amazing. Quiet and quaint cafe, kinda hipsterish.

Came here on a Sunday morning and it was fairly busy with people coming in and out. The service was great and fast. My friends and I did enjoy our drinks. I wouldn't go for any of their specials that they have posted up outside the cafe, better to go with staples (my friend wasn't the biggest fan of their specialty drink that she got). Though, I think there are other surrounding cafes that you can go to for better food. The cafe itself is nice and in the back of the cafe there is an area with windows and beautiful lighting, would definitely love to come back here and chill and read a book sometime.

This place is right on the line of being a great coffee shop. I got the cafe mocha and it was decent, nothing special. The staff was very friendly and the overall space was really great for working. Wifi was generally pretty fast (was free, just had to ask). Also liked that the bathrooms were gender neutral and kept pretty clean. Overall it definitely did aGREE(N) with me.

This is my local coffee shop and I love the time I spend there. They have amazing iced teas that I often get in the summer, and make a killer mocha and chai tea latte for when I have a coffee craving.I like that this location has ample seating so there's usually a place to get work done. Also, the jerk chicken sandwich with the Sriracha ketchup hits the spot. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming!

Environment: Great place to get work done. There was slightly limiting seating but fortunately it was a nice day and they have outdoor seating as well.. Inside is cozy and an intimate place to talk to others, kick-back, do work, and grab a drink. Service: Definitely very attentive when giving you a drink. Please remember to tip them even though it's just a coffee/tea~ Drink: I'm not much of a coffee drinker so I'll speak on behalf of the teas. I've only tried their black teas once and I wasn't a huge fan. My usual is either Sencha or Jasmine. If you like very floral-smelling teas, this is definitely a good buy. It is very fragrant and even the hot water re-fills will probably maintain the flavor 3 times fully steeped. Price: For about $2.50 with a $1 tip, I absolutely love this place.

We ordered our drinks on the walk there and we hoped they would be ready when we arrived. When we walked in the time changed to add about 15 min on which was a bit annoying however we were not in a rush so we calmly waited. I got the hot matcha latte and it was really good. I like only a drop of sweetener bc I like to taste the matcha. I like it served temperature hot (not warm)- and this drink arrived exactly the way I like it. Would def come back for another one. My bf got some kind of coffee w cardamom in it (sorry I forget which kind - I'm not a coffee drinker and they all sound the same to me ha). He really enjoyed his drink. He had a BOGO coupon so we each actually got 2 drinks. I planned to take my second one home but the drink was so good I drank both of them ha. Will def be back again.

What…read moreI appreciated about Haraz on the day I visited was the late hours they kept, I visited on a Saturday night and it was buzzing. It's the fanciest looking coffee house I ever visited, there's outside seating which is nice and the inside is lit up with warm yellow lighting throughout, very spacious with tables and wicker like chairs. It seems like a great spot to meet up with a friend or to visit, find a corner read or work. It looks like a family establishment, as I noticed there were children behind the register, a young man, maybe 10 years old took my order and did a great job doing so! Bravo! I purchased a vanilla hot matcha latte and a pistachio milk cake, the total was about $21!!! This price was expensive, visiting establishment like this often is not feasible to my budget but there's so much more I need to try so I'll be back. The matcha was amazing, actually the most authentic I've tried!!! And the pistachio milk cake was delicious, being a person who literally puts milk on cake lol, this was amazing!!! It wasn't too sweet and the pistachio gave balance! The slice is enough to share or split for 2 servings, which is what I did. Bottom line, I'll be back! I'd love to try their coffee and another pastry and possibly sit outside on a nice day. Please visit and enjoy!!!

Avril 50 was a regular stop in my patrol days and I loved walking into the shop. Always the wonderful aroma of brewing coffees and chocolate dancing with other exotic smells and the smells of fine papers and magazines. It always felt to me like stepping from West Philadelphia into a magical pocket of Europe. As it looked exactly the same, I wondered if anything had changed in the past 22 years and as soon as I crossed the threshold, I found that it was the same - like stepping back 22 years, yet somehow I was that much older. The proprietor was still there, still the same and looking no different - something that confirmed my belief that this was a magical and wonderful pocket paradise tucked away on a small West Philadelphia street. A brief catch-up chat, a shopping bag of fine teas and a perfectly brewed double-espresso to takeaway later; I stepped back into the bright Fall sun of West Philadelphia. I found myself smiling as I sipped the espresso, happy that one of the best things for me in that neighborhood has remained unchanged for others to enjoy and to continue to discover. It will not be another 22 years before I make my way back - that is for certain.

I'm still not entirely sure what the shop is supposed to be but it was an experience going there for sure. The coffee is self serve and there are several different selections, each with a short description up on the wall. My boyfriend and I each got a medium (I believe it was $2.25 per) and loved our coffee. Both were tasty and exceptionally strong. I'm not sure if they do anything fancier (lattés, etc) but I doubt it. Nonetheless, if I were a student at penn and needed a coffee this is where I would go.
