I had the french toast and she had the curry both were fabulous. I also had their decadent chocolate milk that i highly recommend. We browsed through the garden center and gift shop. I bought a water jar, something I have never seen in the US, hopefully it make it back unscathed! The cashier found some bubble wrap and packaged it up quite securely. Every employee in this shop was incredibly nice and helpful. Wish they had something like this in the US.

I am a total addict to Palmers Garden Centre in Plimmerton. I started my addiction to plants and…read moregarden about four months ago when a woman named Kim helped me to vision what it would be like to own a Vegepod. She helped me think about the size, she gave me great advice on the soil to buy, the Perlite to fill in, etc. Her advice was spot on with the Vegepod people's advice. She helped me to think through what to plant, and encouraged me to try out planting potatoes. I have become a frequent flyer at Palmers because of Kim's work and I feel really good about my growing green thumb (and all the advice she gives me everytime I come in - which is, gulp, 2-3 times per week). The Rewards program at Palmers makes up for the slightly higher price you will pay on some things. Then you will find that other things are competitive with what you would pay at Mitre10 and Bunnings. Another shout out goes to Richard, the owner and the other staff who help me diagnose leaf/pest issues with all the things I bring in. Great place that I couldn't recommend more highly. Worth every penny.

This bright, attractively laid-out store is pretty large, with an excellent selection of mostly imported books - anything and everything ranging from popular fiction to cookery, self-help, arts and crafts and cookery books. There are often specials on (a rarity in NZ!) so if you're lucky you might get a bit of a bargain, although books tend to be very pricey in NZ in general. The staff tend to be helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to their products. There's also a large range of stationary and magazines and they'll do their best to order in a book or publication for you if it's not in stock. There's also a customer loyalty card to entice you back into the store. Big thumbs up!
