What a great little find in Dalhart! I had the guacamole burger with a side of onion rings. The patty was massive- the staff said it was a 1/3 lb., but it seemed like a 1/2 lb. Burger had a white cheese slice, good guac, and BACON strips. Bun was buttered and toasted, the way the good Lord intended. Onion rings were sliced thin and batter-fried - sooo good! Tip: try to get there before the noonday lunch rush - restaurant is on the small side and fills up quickly with the locals. Five stars for The Grill - check it out! read more

I did an experiment where I ordered the same thing for a week and the price was never the same, it fluctuated from 14 dollars to 7 dollars just for a taco dinner. and the burger buns are always soggy and makes a horrible mess everywhere. read more

This is the Valhalla of burgerdom. When you hit the pearly gates, St Pete gives you a free pass to this little slice of heaven. The restaurant is so clean I threw away my basket and ate my meal off the floor. The waffle fries will make you punch your mother square in the jaw they are so good. If the burger was any more fresh, you would end up on a PETA commercial just for eating it. If you find yourself in or near Dalhart, which is probably not often, this is joint is a must. I had to convince my family to ignore the exterior appearance which could hardly look worse. But the burgers are great. I had the guacamole bacon burger with jalapeños - delicious. Passing through Dalhart and needed a meal. The Grill was recommended by our hotel so we tried it. If you are picky about appearances don't go there, but if you want the best tasting hamburger, belly up to the counter. It's small inside and fills up fast. I had the Reuben sandwich which wasn't that great, and fried pickles that more than made up for the disappointment of the sandwich. The booths are small, and the menu is kind of hard to see if you're not right under it but the waitresses are friendly and the drinks, while made of styrofoam are big. Beer battered onion rings!!! The green chili burger was hot and tasty. I deducted one star for the length of time it took to get my order. I'm not sure why the drive- thru customers continued to be served before dine- in customers. This place has great burgers in a small diner-like venue. We had the green chile cheese burger and the pizza burger with fries and onion rings respectively. Both burgers were huge and yummy, so we had leftovers. The onion rings left a bit to be desired, but the fries were nice and crisp. High chairs are available for those who need them. Passing through town and stopped by based on the reviews. It is what you would call a "hole in the wall" restaurant (typically these are great). This is definitely one of those. The burgers are HUGE and yes, they are greasy, but very good and filling. Onion rings were very good - crisp onion and tasty batter. If you want a small, neat, "classy" burger don't bother stopping. Visiting family in Dalart and we were treated to hamburgers and fries last night. I had a bacon pepper jack burger. Would give a 5 star but the meat was very dry. Other 3 family members said the same. Must say it was fresh thick ground beef and not frozen soy patty. Had a variety of burgers, tacos, quesadilles, chicken, steak or shrimp baskets. Will definitely go back, but will order medium well burger. read more
