No, not that kind of money. Clean money. Anyway... The staff here is super friendly, the atmosphere fits the area, and the place has some charm. It looks like the prices for the sandwiches are very fair, but I got a bagel, and the price for one bagel is too high. However, this is more of a sandwich and coffee shop; it's not a bagel store. Nice little coffee shop with lots of variety. We stopped in during a road trip and parking was easy. It is next to the Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum, so stopping here after a visit would be super easy. There were plenty of specialty drinks on the menu, and they trended towards the sugary direction. There were plenty of families enjoying the space, and options for kids and adults. My drink ended up being sugary-sweet and I probably would have asked them to dial it down if I had realized. On the plus side, they were able to get drinks out pretty quickly, in spite of there being quite the crowd. The space was clean and modern. Also, the bathroom was clean and very much appreciated on our road trip. I probably wouldn't sit and enjoy my drink here, due to the high traffic (at least when I visited). For a quick stop in, it's nice. I'll be sure to order better next time. Solid spot! read more

I wish I could move to Wytheville just for this coffee shop! Or maybe move this coffee shop to my hometown in NC. Passing through Wytheville and needing a pick me up so bestie and I swung by The Grind for some coffee and breakfast. We both ordered hash brown patties (crispy and fresh), muffins (blueberry for my bestie and double chocolate for me), and a macchiato for me. The muffins came out fresh and delicious, definitely some of the best muffins we've ever had. But the iced Caramel Macchiato with Salted Caramel Cold Foam totally stole the show as it was not only beautiful but well balanced and delicious. This will now be my go to drink anytime I'm in Wytheville for travel! I loved being able to place my order on a screen, and then being told that they received my order by the staff and that they'd have it ready for me shortly. Super friendly staff and considering how busy they were and how much we ordered, they were very quick! read more

I was driving through the Wytheville area and stopped at a couple of stores but was in desperate need of a coffee. This little coffee shop on main Street done the trick. I ordered the caramel macchiato with caramel cold foam and it was delicious. As soon as I opened the door I was greeted by friendly staff. They weren't busy but a small rush came in after we ordered. The prices were reasonable, the staff was super friendly, and my coffee was delightful! I definitely recommend stopping in for a cup of Joe. read more

My second time in Wytheville with the Sprinter van and I love it because the city has set up power outlets across the street so that I was able to charge up the van's battery. And while doing that, I'm returning some to the local economy with coffee here. The Grind has set up touch screen kiosks for ordering - like McDonald's - and you can customize your drink and food order without having to explain it to a human. Fairly good coffee, 7 out of 10 nice store but automated ordering is terrible and be prepared to wait a long time. Takes forever to get coffee. Staff is not friendly at all. And it's expensive for the quality. Oat and almond milk are extra charge. Pushing $6 plus for a 12 oz. Really hope they get these things fixed. read more

I stopped in town mostly only to see the giant pencil (it was down for repairs when I was there in Oct 2022) and decided to take a walk up and down Main Street. I found this gem and had a great coffee and bagel sitting at the tables outside. I was a little confused by the touchscreens at first, but they were easy to figure out. Wanted to be able to leave a great review! Tonight a friend and I drove half an hour out of our way to stop at The Grind. It turned out to be the town's Christmas festival and the block was hopping with activity. We arrived fifteen minutes before closing and the barista told us "I'm sorry - we are closing up for the night." I explained that we'd driven thirty minutes to get there and their hours listed them still open. The shop was abuzz with activity! She said, "sorry - we have lots of orders and it would take twenty minutes." Then when asked for a recommendation, we were told there were food trucks on the street. End of story. Another customer overheard and apologized outside the shop for how we were treated, suggesting S-bucks down the road. The thing is, we didn't want to support a corporate store that gives funding to immoral organizations - we wanted to support a small local business. And I get it - I've worked in coffee shops for years. It stinks to be busy at closing - yet it's our opportunity to take good care of customers. It seemed pretty poor customer service to refuse visitors on a night that was already hopping with activity - during open hours. We wish we'd had the opportunity to actually try the coffee! It seemed worth mentioning how it felt to an excited would-be customer. read more

Yeah, you'll get better treatment at Starbucks. Waited for my sandwich for 45 minutes so just decided to leave. Every time we asked the barista, all she would say is, "there are still orders ahead of you." I should mention we were one of four people in the cafe. Gross customer service and $7 wasted. read more
