I had the Hangover Burger and it hit every craving I walked in with..... juicy, seasoned to perfection, and just flat out delicious. It came with homemade chips that were so good I honestly wish they sold them by the bag because I'd buy them immediately! My cousin ordered the French toast and it was phenomenal too. The atmosphere was chill with great vibes all around, and the wait staff was amazing and super welcoming. Overall, such a great experience from start to finish. You have to try their bruschetta!!!! Omg they have delicious choices to add to it. I also had the bacon wrapped quail, so very nice! Beautiful place to fo for lunch, but especially dinner. Very open and spacious with a long list of wines to pair your food. I love the ambiance and with the nice weather every now and then, (even in winter) it's great to have a patio dinner with your date or friends. Had lunch here a week or so ago and actually tried something new! The person I met with and I had the same salmon salad. He remarked that he often gets this dish at another location and it was good but they onions on top were more breaded and less lighter batter. I thought it was good but the dressing was a bit heavy. Our waiter was helpful and thankfully brought the peppers on the side even though he didn't think they were actual bell peppers at first, but they were. Been here a few times and every time they have exceeded the expectation. It's that perfect spot to unwind on a Friday afternoon after work. This time we arrived on time for their social hours, which means certain drinks are $2 off. This time we got the ceviche, which was super fresh and just flavorful. The meatball sampler, with the sauce alone, is amazing. The meatballs are a bit on the dry side. I also got the Teja Salad with no protein. It was so flavorful and on the spicy side, but it was an overall great meal. I also tried the spicy margaritas, which was 10/10. Their red sangria was okay, and their peach Rum drink. The prosciutto was also good, but not as good as the fruity ones. I had the migas for brunch and added chorizo, it was very delicious. The eggs, beans, and potatoes all had so much flavor. The setting is lovely with two tree-shaded decks in a neighborhood setting. The crab cakes and bruschetta are top of my list. First time at The Grove on Wood Hollow... we received a very warm welcome. Immediately striking is the airyness of restaurant and ample space amongst tables. Also the restaurant has a modern, cosmopolitan vibe. Vibrant colors, clean architectural lines and a good balance of artificial and natural light are highlights of The Grove. There are several unique wine bottles displays and an empty wine bottle display at the entry. In addition, there is this Picasso-like mural at the entry way of restroom area and eclectic wallpaper. We both ordered the smashed burger. So yummy...this was the first time I've eat a burger when the meat is bigger than the potato bun. The burger was juicy and seasoned well along melted cheese...a welcomed addition. This burger is 5 out 5 with crispy housemade chips. We learned from Ashley, our very knowledgeable and attentive server, this location will be one year old in June. We wondered why we just noticed this location recently. Importantly, The Grove is supporting child abuse prevention. A portion of their proceeds this month will go to the Center for Child Protection. I've been to this location several times and have always enjoyed the drinks and food. Highly recommend the espresso martini. The patio and interior are both very nice and pleasant. The servers here are always nice but the service itself is pretty inconsistent. One of our party had a toddler, but we were seated in an area that became inconvenient for everyone. No shade to the hostess because she was a doll. That being said, if staff are going to ask us to keep a 1 year old seated, please be more prompt with the service. read more

One of their newer locations is easy to get to and much closer to me. The outdoor seating so relaxing and there is a lot of outdoor seating. They had giant fans blowing on you to mimic a nice spring breeze. Staff were attentive and friendly. Parking is plenty with overflow across the street. Prices for brunch are great! Our food was delicious. I just wanted a classed eggs benedict and my friend's loaded toast was even better (lotsa arugula, perfectly tossed in dressing). Enjoyed catching up outdoors. I came back to The Grove after trying their crab cake. This time around, we had crab cakes, Brussels sprouts, and oysters. The food was fresh and we paired our light bites with wine followed by cocktails. The food was a large enough portion to share and we ended up not ordering food because we were full. My lunch order of chicken tortilla soup and a grilled cheese at first came out as soup and salad but it was corrected quickly. The tortilla soup was filled with chicken, avocado, cheese and corn was was very flavorful. The grilled cheese was on delicious grilled bread but fully a quarter of the portion had no cheese - disappointing. Others ordered entree salads. For dessert we ordered both the gluten free chocolate brownie and the crème brûlée and both were delicious. A perfect night out! This was our first visit to this location of The Grove. It was too cold outside to enjoy the beautiful decks and gorgeous oaks, but the inside was beautiful too. I somehow missed the memo that this location was here. I've always been a fan of The Grove and its various locations, just had no idea this one was here. I met up with Julie H and Sylvie G for a ladies night here. There is ample parking, but definitely know that you'll probably have to walk a ways from your spot if you're further into the lot. The restaurant itself has both indoor seating and ample outdoor / patio seating (with lovely trees providing shade and good scenery). The menu has something on it for anyone. We opted to share a pizza, which was perfect for the three of us to complement the bottle of wine we shared too. This is the kind of place that makes you feel like you're at an upscale food experience while also feeling like you're at a comfortable, local spot. I will certainly keep this location in mind for the future as it's central, but also feels like a lovely experience. read more

Finally made it out to one of the locations of The Grove and it really exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere felt lively, fresh and modern with both a very nice outdoor patio area and upscale but relaxed bar/dining space. My party ordered various drinks, the bacon wrapped quail and redfish ceviche for appetizers, and then an array of entrees. Really everything I had I can't think of any critiques for; they were really dishes that were put together very well. Very balanced, fresh and flavorful. They were also very good about allergies, accommodating my avoidance of gluten, dairy and eggs. When I asked about specials and heard that the daily was a salad, I initially didn't take it very seriously -- but once she described it in detail, I was already changing my tune, with it genuinely sounding like a great salad. I ordered it, and would easily order it again. It was substantial, had high amounts of chicken, was a very balanced and healthy meal, and the flavor was on point. I'd say the highlight was actually the tortilla strips sprinkled in. They were heavily seasoned with chile and lime, really providing constant bursts of savory flavor in every bite. This is a beautiful new location and has outdoor seating as well as a large indoor area and bar. Came here for brunch with a large party and we got the wine room. It was beautifully set up and there's lots of natural lighting from outside. They have a great brunch menu and some interesting drinks. Our service was quite spotty actually and felt very disconnected. Food came out Intermittently and was handed off to the wrong people.Or they did not know who got what. We asked four things and it took a while to get our requests met. Although. Everyone was very friendly.I would say the staff wanted to do better.They just fell short as far as serving a large party smoothly. Food was okay not great. went to the grove over easter weekend for the first time. the service was ok, the waiter checked on us a few times but felt a little rushed although there were only 6 tables around. the pizza was amazing, we got the hot honey sausage one. the wine was also very good. we sat on the patio which was very nice and they had good music playing in the background. would recommend for a date night out, it's also very close to the bars if you wanted to grab a drink after! read more

As of this writing, there's less than 10 reviews and really nothing in the way of complaints other than high prices. I came here with some coworkers on a Wednesday at 6 PM and already every single parking space in the spacious lot was taken. They do have an overflow lot across the street, and I was able to find a spot there. Walking in, you find the place (especially the bar) to be quite the hive of activity. I found the bathroom situation to be quite unique with one communal sink outside with just one family bathroom and three women's restrooms. For you wine fans, you'll be very pleased to know they have a very extensive wine menu and even sell flights of wine. If you're coming here with a large group, there's only one area off to the side that is semi private, otherwise you'll be seated in the loud dining room or there's lots of shady seating outside. I have to admit the food here is very good and the service is very much on point. We tried a variety of their appetizers along with their pizza and it was all between four and five stars. By in large, they're quite capable of handling a packed restaurant and bar efficiently. It's a great place to enjoy drinks with friends and dinner, just expect a full house. Lunch here many times but first time for Happy Hour. We sat in a booth which was the bar area (we thought) separated by a small wall one side and half wall the other. When we began to order the "starter" happy hour menu, we were informed we were not in the bar area, that only the high chairs and bar stools were "the bar area". We were all seniors- can't climb up chairs and practically have to slide down! Noticed there were not many happy hour patrons! Maybe because older people cannot be accommodated there. read more

The food, service, and atmosphere were great. What really impressed me was the care they took of people with food allergies. First, their menu was clearly marked. I and my companion both had different food allergies. The server asked us about allergies before we could even volunteer. Hmm, what to say about this Grove Wine Bar + Kitchen location? Ultimately, I'm not impressed. I've eaten at other locations and enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance. Here though, not so much. I office around the corner and frequent this location for both personal dining and work meetings. I've eaten here at least 10 times, and there's always something "off." Something has come out cold, or a waitress has forgotten to ring in an item from an order, or the restaurant is understaffed. I haven't been too quick to judge or write a review because I assumed this new location was working out the kinks, but tonight's irritation was my last straw, so here we are. It's 4:47pm and I'm sitting in the restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner. The hostess asked me if I'd prefer high-top or low-top, and I selected low since it's better for my decrepit lower back! I noticed that there were drink options on the happy hour menu so, though I was not here for happy hour, I inquired about whether there were food happy hour options. As I thought about it, I vaguely remembered hosting a work happy hour here, treating constituents to a rather sizeable food/bev tab during happy hour.... which, my waitress confirmed. Sort of. She informed me that while drink specials were available throughout the restaurant, I would have had to sit in the bar area for food specials. I informed her that I had not been made aware of that and she asked if I would like to move top the bar - where, as I mentioned - I had elected not to sit at a high-top due to back injury. I told her "no, thanks," and shared that since I had no happy hour menu and wasn't actually here for that, I had no understanding of whether it'd be worth the move. I shared that the whole thing bothered me a bit. Then she offered to ask the manager for an exception, which I gratefully accepted. I figured it was a done deal! When she came back to tell me that it wouldn't be possible to order happy hour food from this table (about 1ft from the back of the bar area and 10ft from the bar itself, mind you) and that the purpose was to promote bar business I said "okay then, I'll write a review about it and just order from the regular menu." I ordered my forbidden rice bowl. She asked me if I'd like a drink and I said, "Oh, no, definitely not... just on principle." Then I requested the internet password and here I am, penning this essay instead of doing the work I expected to do while sitting here and before returning to the office. He told us the specials of the day in a loud voice so everyone could hear him, and he answered several questions about how the dishes were prepared. He also went out of his way to bring us a second umbrella to provide shade for those at one end of the table, and he directed one of the large fans our way. I anticipated giving this spot mid reviews simply because the prices were high and couldn't possibly be justified by what I observed of the menu, which seemed a little aimless and froufrou. Perhaps living in Austin too long has made me expect a menu to have a "point of view." But I'm happy I ignored those instincts and gave this place a chance on a whim. The food is refreshingly well made, without weird chef-y flourishes. I will absolutely log this as a great weeknight option when I don't feel like cooking but don't want to try someplace where I have to go on a culinary adventure with a Top Chef runner up. We got the crispy chicken sandwich and the Cuban press and both were flavorful. The pork was moist (nobody likes a dry Cuban), and the chicken was crispy with a slaw that added the perfect creamy tang. The house made chips had a subtle squeeze of vinegar over them, and it's these little touches that make you think that whoever is behind the menu just wanted to give the people tasty food. No more, no less. Granted, I came here on a Saturday around 3, so it was near empty. I hope the food doesn't lose this attention to detail during busy hours. I should also mention that the entrees and sides are generously portioned. The substitute Caesar salad we got instead of fries was both delicious (clearly homemade dressing) and easily shareable between two people. Sandwiches were also huge. I'm happy to pay a little more if I'm guaranteed leftovers. I've been waiting for this location to open, so I was thrilled to see it so busy during their first couple of weeks. The ambiance is great! The patio is spacious and under some beautiful oak trees.
