My friends and I came here one afternoon for coffee and dessert after reading all the good reviews…read moreonline. We walked in to a completely empty place, with just the owners sitting at a table eating food. No greeting whatsoever, we decided to seat ourselves. We sat down and waited for the menus while the owners continued eating their food and talking quietly to each other while staring at us. After about five minutes it was clear they were not going to to serve us, so we left and they didn't even acknowledge us leaving at all. They didn't even say hello, offer us menus, or tell us they will be with us soon. I'm guessing because we were a mixed ethnicity group. This is not the first time I've experienced this kind of anti-immigrant behavior from Antwerp businesses. It's not even cozy in there, but rather very dark, old, and stale. Do yourself a favor and go to Popoff around the corner instead.

Seriously, I tried to order three different choices before they actually had something I wanted! I cannot believe that on the third item when I asked "so, then do you have [this 3rd item]?" the waitress responded with, "yes, of course!" Of course my ass. And it's not even what I wanted to eat, it was just something to eat. If you don't keep a regular stock of items listed on your not particularly lengthy menu of mostly SANDWICHES then don't advertise it!!! The somewhat hilarious thing is that what drew me in was false advertising. They had a card on all the tables that said "various soups" and when I asked "so what kind of soups do you have?" "Tomato." "Anything besides tomato?" "No." Geesh. If I had been here at the end of the day, ok then, but this was the middle of lunchtime on a weekend day... Lastly, the drinks. They use a generic button push machine for coffee but the prices suggest they actually pull their own espresso. Ordered a water instead --- it was a 33cl plastic grocery store bottle and they charged 2,40 euros for it. ... My guess as to how this place stays in business? IT'S A TOURIST TRAP. AVOID at all costs. Such a sad affair, the rest of Antwerp and my experiences were lovely.
