The main draw of this place for me is the massive terrace out front, with huge tables and loads of space, so you can sit and relax with friends on a sunny day in the city centre and people-watch. It's very stylish inside, and spacious, taking up most of the main foyer of the Colston Hall. The restaurant continues on upstairs, too.
On my visit, my friend ordered an iced coffee and was presented with an extravagantly frothy, decadent thing in a tall glass. Like a chilled cappuccino! Not what we were expecting - but it was definitely impressive. It was £2.50, so, not cheap, but it's a swanky bar, so I expected that.
I haven't sampled the food, but the menu looked very elegant indeed, with some very tasty-sounding options. This isn't really somewhere to just pop in for a cheap, quick lunch. Be prepared to pay a bit more, enjoy posing in the grand atmosphere of the renovated hall foyer, and luxuriate. read more
