It may actually be considered a part of the campus since the Norfolk General complex has been completely "built out" on the original side. The Fort Norfolk location is quite easy to access from most areas in the Southside. Having nothing to do with the building but appealing to my love for history, the area is named for the neighborhood's fully restored War of 1812 era original fort that's still sits overlooking the Elizabeth River as it enters the Harbor. Fort Norfolk protected the Norfolk side with Fort Nelson protecting the Portsmouth side. The latter sat on the current site of the Portsmouth Naval Hospital. Sadly, that fort no longer remains, History lesson completed. This is a quite convenient building for those of us who can't walk long distances from parking areas to medical building entrances. The attached parking garage is free if your ticket is validated at the medical practice you are visiting. On each level there are a few Handicapped spaces directly adjacent to the glass enclosed elevator entrances. Seating is available in that area. I've never had a problem finding a space in the parking garage, which offers a picturesque view of the Elizabeth River. The building is filled with medical practices & support facilities. Most offices that I've seen are Sentara practices, I've had wonderful care at Sentara Cardiology Specialists, Sentara Advanced Imaging Center & Sentara Sleep Center. This Medical Center is quite convenient & affords easy access to both parking and elevators. I would highly recommend choosing a medical practice located in this Fort Norfolk Center.

I made a reservation with Angels' House after it was recommended by Sono Bello for my unique…read moresituation. After explaining to Sono Bello that I was mom to a 10 year old and caretaker to my elderly parent, she told me about AH and told me that it would in all likelihood be a great solution to my quandary. I called AH, explained SonoBello's referral, told them I had a 10 year old child and an elderly parent that I was unable to leave the child with, and was directed to make my reservation online. So, I did. $493. Fast forward to the day prior to the procedure. I called AH to make pick-up arrangements for myself and my son, and was curtly informed that the child was not allowed. "I had not disclosed that information, and there are women wandering around who have had procedures" etc. I was dumbfounded. First... there must have been some wires crossed somewhere, or maybe the owner was in too big a hurry to get me off the phone, because I did mention my child. Apparently she assumed the second guest was my father. Second... "women wandering around"? I was under the impression that this was not in the nature of a private home that was in any way informal or with public areas, but rather that I would have private areas to myself and the second person I had paid for. I informed the owner that this meant I would have to cancel my procedure, and she really did not care. So I did so, asking her to cancel the reservation, obviously, since she was denying my second party admittance (and thus me, since I kinda come with him). Fast forward a month later. I notice that the $493 has not been refunded to my account and call. Her position is that it's not going to be refunded because there are no refunds. Um. Seriously, epically baffled by this. Angels' House tells me I can't come because they misunderstood something ... but then refuses to refund my money? I SMELL A RAT. I'm in process of contacting the BBB, and have also contacted Sono Bello to alert them about the shady business practices being conducted by this business.

This review is for the Dermatology department and specifically Dr. Williams. They have multiple…read morelocations in HRVA. The downtown Norfolk location is directly off Brambleton Ave. However, the building faces Riverview and the parking garage is also off Riverview. It's a nice five to six story building. Parking was easy and happen to be no charge, good timing. Check-in for my son was easy. The lobby is spacious and comfortable. Everything was spotless. If there was a parking charge they do not validate. My son was called back in less than 15 minutes. He was first seen by the assistant, then Dr. Williams who we have seen for over a decade. Her bed side manner is wonderful in a quiet manner. She did a pre cancerous screening for moles since he swims outside year around. She was very thorough. She suggested a 80 SPF sunblock cream, then apply spray after. The cream is much better than spray to use as primary base. If there is a negative it's the appointment side.,there were stumbles on even getting an answer. I hear they receive somewhere around 12 referrals a day. Once I did get Dr. Williams nurse they process was smooth. I would recommend CHKD Dermatology. Dr. Williams is booked up to 6 months, her partners and PA's are excellent too!

This is the worst doctor I have ever been to. The place is dirty and has an elevator with broken…read morebuttons. I had to wait for over an hour past my appointment time. The doctor was a young guy and needs to learn compassion. He was rude and talked down to me. They treat you like cattle with no respect. Please find another place to go. I will drive to Norfolk. These guys are not the best choice. Did I mention that it's very dirty !!
