It's definitely not one of my favorite venues for concerts. I hear they host a lot of other types of events there too, so clearly music isn't their only moneymaker (which is good, because the sound kinda leaves something to be desired. The Good: The place is relatively big, if a bit nondescript. Although I can see how you could decorate and jazz it up a bit - could be a nice, urban-style backdrop if you were willing to bring stuff in. There's a parking lot about half a block away that fits a decent amount of cars. Sometimes there's a guy there making you pay $5, sometimes there's not. I have yet to figure out if he's just a really smart scam artist making people pay, or if he's hired by the venue. The Bad: Holy sweltering heat. For such a big space, they had ONE vent blowing cold air. I literally thought I was going to expire at one point. I didn't pay $10 to go into a sauna filled will un-showered teenage boys. *shiver* The sound...is not great. I heard quite a few of the bands complain about the PA, or lack thereof. Again, isn't not a "concert" venue, so maybe that just comes with the territory. They. Ran. Out. Of. Beer. I'm not sure I have to expand on that any further. The front door faces the Live Oak Lofts (or one of the buildings over there), so they don't let people stand and mingle outside. Generally I get that, but may I remind you it was about 125 degrees in that place. It's not the worst place that I've been to, but as I said before, just not one of my favorites.

On 4/3/21, my husband and I had our beautiful wedding at Stonebriar County Club.  Blake was our…read moreflorist and day of coordinator.  He kept us informed of upcoming deadlines and was always very creative and flexible with our ideas.  In the beginning, I had (too) many ideas of what I liked although I knew which flowers I wanted.  We met a couple times (Zoom) leading up to the wedding to discuss bouquets, table arrangements, and décor and each time he was timely and helpful.  I was able to show him pictures I had found and he was able to turn my inspiration into reality because he is so passionate about his job.  Also, we decided to make floral changes after the bridal portraits bouquet was made because some flowers just weren't white enough for our ginger jar theme.  Blake was very understandable and send a new vision board to us.  We decided a month or so before our wedding we'd also have Blake do the day-of coordinating; it was no problem to add that on later.  A week before the wedding, my (now) husband met with Blake to provide all of our ginger jars for the center pieces.  Unbeknownst to me, my husband was also handing over a very sentimental scarf that he had requested to be included in my bouquet.  On the day of our wedding, Blake arrived at our venue early with TJ and team to ensemble the areas of the country club.  Upon its reveal to us, everything looked exactly how we envisioned!  Blake and team checked on my husband and I throughout the night to ensure we were fed, quenched, and happy.  At the end of the night, we ended up having the BEST time with Blake after everyone had left and we were sneaking off in our get-away car.  Blake had packed up the car with my veil, hangers, gifts, sign in globe, and even a box of leftover to take back to our hotel!  We've stayed in contact with Blake after our wedding and actually attended HIS wedding as guests.  Blake is a professional and sweetheart that we are so thankful we had on our wedding day.

Unfortunately, we were wrong to make that assumption. So this review really only pertains to their in-office elopements, as I can't speak to the rest of their services. Getting in touch with the owner, Blake, was relatively easy, at first. It was easy to pay online, and he thoughtfully sent us a questionnaire, which was simple and painless to fill out. But after this, at times it was a little difficult to get a response from him and/or the officiator he assigned us regarding our wedding vows. Nothing major, but there was a span of a few days before we received a response in our last correspondence. But it ended up fine. Most of our disappointment was with the office. It was located in a dingy, old building that smelled musty and odd. It seemed like they rent at least two rooms for their business in this building, and both doors were open when we arrived - one was the room where elopements are held, the other I assume was their normal office. We saw Blake (the owner) sitting at a desk in the normal office, but he made no effort to step out and say hello, introduce himself or welcome us, etc. He didn't even wave. We never spoke in person. He looked our way and then turned back to his computer monitor. It was not very professional or kind. Our officiator (who was fine, no complaints there) promptly noticed our arrival and walked us to the elopement room next door. And this is where it got worse. Terrible, SUPER dim, yellow fluorescent lighting. Outdated (Green, I think?) carpet. That same musty smell. The archway we stood under looked pretty half-assedly constructed. We were debating hiring a photographer to come along and help us commemorate the moment, but now we're glad that we didn't - there was no helping that setting. We now wish that we'd asked to see a picture of the office first. I'd post one here but the pictures turned out so terrible that we deleted them all already. We kept a Polaroid that disguised the setting a little bit (with Polaroids not being super hi-res and all), but that's it. The short version of this - if you care about the setting of your elopement, DON'T DO IT HERE. I'm sure they might be wonderful at conventional wedding planning, but this was a total bummer. It's a good thing that we weren't crazy invested in a conventional wedding anyway, but we want to help another nontraditional couple avoid this unpleasantly surprising situation! We did receive our marriage certificate back insanely fast (a week), so they were very prompt about sending it out for us.

The lighting package is worth it (chandlier, uplights, overhead string lights)- really, it's all you need to highlight the gorgeous brick interior. Photo package- our engagement pictures were excellent. Neither my husband or I would be considered "photogenic" but he really captured some great shots. Alex started taking pictures of us at 9:30 AM during the Vietnamese tea ceremony and again as we got started getting ready at 34 events around 1 and through the wedding until it ended. He had 2 other assistant photographers there capturing the party. Alex's style is photojournalistic and he is a ninja at getting shots without you knowing. The photo booth was a big hit and they let it run an additional hour or so. We did not go with the caterer through the venue, we needed a very specific ethnic multi-course meal that Alex allowed us to bring our caterer of choice which a lot of other venues do not allow. We also got the beer/wine package and our guests took full advantage. Alex was really easy to work with and always responded promptly. Our wedding was stunning and we had a good experience with 34 events.

We hosted both our ceremony and reception there for 150 guests, and it couldn't have worked out better. One of the biggest advantages of 34 Events is how much is handled in-house. From linens and flatware to special lighting, catering, and the bar, so much was coordinated through the venue, which made the planning process incredibly easy and stress-free. The food was prepared on-site and was delicious. We received numerous compliments from our guests. We also utilized Hope's Day-of Coordination services, and it was worth every penny. Hope is simply amazing. She made the entire day feel calm and effortless, allowing us to truly enjoy every moment. We are so grateful for her care, organization, and attention to detail. Our ride there took an extra 10 minutes because even after we arrived within a few blocks of the venue, we still had to drive from one shopping center to the next. The rooms inside are super cool. Rather than being just one big venue, this spot has several cooler small rooms that have varying themes. Perfect for a bday party where you want different spots for your guests to gather. There is also a larger front area where you can get everyone together for food or cake cutting type events. The bathrooms are well kept and accessible and the acoustics are great for having your own DJ. I am unsure of the catering set up because I am pretty sure there is no kitchen so ice and heating things could be a challenge. All in all, a cool venue in the design district!

We had a vision for an initial speakeasy lounge feel with jazz band, dinner and tribute video, following by champagne toast, cake and a full club party with DJ, dance floor, casino games and a mobile cigar lounge in the back. We were drawn to MHH becasue of it's flexibility with staging, multiple rooms, intimate setting and prior experience with Vintage Great Gatsby/Roaring 20s parties. From start to finish the Owner/Manger Collette embraced our vision, through multiple meetings, reiterations of the layout, and negotiating with multiple vendors. Her customer service, flexiblity, and anticipatory guidance made the planning phase seamless. The day of the event she went above and beyond, adjusting decor last minute, providing valuable insight for party flow, dance, flow, food service and bartending area which she turned into an amazing focal point. What I appreciated the most was the way in which she embraced our vision, even checking in mutliple times during the party to make sure everything was going okay, to remind me that I had late night snacks and cookies I wanted to be put out. Making sure I was ready for different experiences like the Mobile cigar bar lounge and casino to be open as she knew I had a time frame. We pulled this party off in 2.5 months for 100-110 guests with multiple layers, a vintage, car, a band, a DJ, a casinon and a mobile cigar lounge. On top of that her Great Gatsby Decor provided an elegant cozy feel and then our additional layers of vintage photos of my husband all over the venue, custom poker chips, money, a dessert bar and separate area for the BBQ buffet knocked it out of the park. We looked at several venues before choosing MHH the layout was perfect but Collette was priceless. We look forward to having another event there. I have taken my children to parties there and to the open bounce time on Fridays in the summer. The play area can get pretty stuffy, but they try to keep it coolish with a portable AC unit and several fans. My girls usually start to complain after about an hour about the warm air, but go of and keep playing anyway.
