We came here for our christmas meal with my boyfriend's family and I absolutely love it!
Great decor, staff are friendly and the food is locally produced and cooked by hand in house. Every time we've come here before it has also been great with a large selection of beers, wines and ciders to choose from!
This time we had a set xmas menu that we had previously chosen. We were shown to our table v quickly and drinks orders were taken speedily!
I had pate to start which was v tasty but which I had chosen the vegetarian starter which was a cheesey tart which tasted absolutely amazing!! Pate was good nonetheless and I ate all of it!#
Christmas dinner- traditional turkey, roasties, stuffing, gravy and veggies! (See pictures) Everything was tasty, the lovely waitress bought all the sauces we ordered to the table and it was just so delicious! The portion size wasn't massive BUT it was exactly what you wanted having a starter as well!!
For dessert I chose xmas pudding which was tasty and served with vanilla ice cream! The only reason I didn't finish this was because I was feeling slightly worse for wear after a party... and rather full from the roast!!
James G had the brownie which was quite dry :( So quite glad I didn't order that!
So all in a all a fantastic pub and restaurant, the new updated place looks beautiful and we will continue coming here for family meals :) read more
