We came here for dinner a month after they opened. We are so rooting for this place but we found the food to be incredibly expensive for the taste and portions. It was like $30-$50/dish entrees which is fine but the food has to be great and it just wasn't great. Service was off too - we had entrees coming out shortly after our salads were served, etc. Love the outdoor and bar atmosphere though and the breakfast to go area is convenient! This is my "come here for coffee/light breakfast and an occasional drink at the bar place" not let's go for lunch or dinner spot. Especially in today's economy, if you're going to charge premium prices the product has to backup and often exceed the prices with taste value and unfortunately the Henry doesn't have that zest. read more

I have grown to love The Henry. My friend and I were excited to try the new location. We went for breakfast. When we arrived, we were told they were only accepting orders through the coffee shop area for breakfast hours then we could come inside and sit. Unfortunately, on this day, it was a little busy and they only had one person taking orders AND making drinks. He was doing his best to keep up. We waited in line for 15 minutes behind 1 other person. The wait was mostly because the poor young man was making so many drinks at one time. There were 2 other staff behind him talking but not helping. He let us know we could grab silverware on the way out and that our drinks and food would be brought to our table. We went inside and seated ourselves. We were supposed to grab our silverware on the way out from the coffee area but of course we forgot and the server had to bring us some after she brought our food. The inside of the restaurant was very nice and there were quite a few people seated. There were several staff standing in the front just talking so I was confused about why we wouldn't just sit in the restaurant and order our food. They did not look short staffed. Our food didn't take too long to come out. It was hot and made perfectly. My friend got the flower child scramble which she enjoyed. I got the 2 eggs plate with bacon, potatoes, and wheat toast. My friend got a matcha latte. She thought it was good, but I thought it was watered down. I got the butcher latte and it was not good at all. The milk had dissolved from the top and it looked like a drink that had been sitting for a while. I asked for 2 cups of water to go and the waitress looked at me like I had 2 heads lol it was weird but maybe she was having a moment! I would only come back because the food was actually good. We visited The Henry this weekend and left full, happy, and seriously impressed. From the moment we sat down, the experience was smooth, flavorful, and genuinely enjoyable. Alina, our server, was a standout--warm, knowledgeable, and refreshingly honest with her opinions on the menu. She guided us through several of our choices with confidence and care. It's rare to get someone who knows the food that well and still keeps it real. The only suggestion we didn't follow was dessert--solely because we weren't in a citrusy mood, not because her recommendation didn't sound amazing. Now, on to the food: We kicked things off with the Braised Beef Potstickers, and they were phenomenal. Easily one of the best I've ever had. Perfectly seared with a delicate crisp on one side, tender and juicy inside, and topped with fresh cilantro that really brightened each bite. These are a must-order. Next came the Brie Toast, which was warm, creamy, and satisfying--but felt like it needed a little more sweetness to balance the richness. Maybe a pop of fresh fruit or a stronger preserve would elevate it. Still tasty, just not a show-stealer. The Korean Skirt Steak was absolutely unforgettable. Each bite was as good as the first--perfectly tender, boldly seasoned, and bursting with layered flavors. This is one of those dishes you think about long after the meal. If you're a steak person (or even if you're not), don't skip it. We added a few sides and had fun comparing notes. The Crisp Japanese Sweet Potatoes were exactly as Chris described them: "moist, crunchy, comforting, and warm." He loved them. I appreciated the creativity but wouldn't reorder personally--just a taste preference. The Asparagus and Snap Peas were fresh, vibrant, and offered a really clean contrast to the richer parts of the meal. Service was fast, but not in a rushed or impersonal way. Came hear tonight around 7:00 PM having been to other Henry location many times and the hostesses told us there were no tables were available even though 1/2 of the tables were empty and all we could do was sit at the bar. Watched for people coming in and almost no one came in. Food and service at the bar was great just hostesses were rude. Arcadia location much more accommodating. Won't be coming back here. read more

They just opened at this location and it's fantastic. The servers are all really nice and fast and the food is so good. I'm so glad to have a Henry right near my house now! The menu is delicious and they did such an amazing job getting rid of the Applebee's ambience and turning it into the Henry. What a great addition to the neighborhood. Yummmm! Edit: I would not come for the breakfast though because you have to order around the corner and then walk yourself to the table and get your own utensils and water, so what are you tipping for? That's odd. I didn't really like that part of the experience. But I love the evening food and I've come 4 times now for lunch/dinner that, and the girls have been very nice. They do dress a bit like scottsdale which is a smidge out of place and not what you may prefer/expect for this neighborhood, but whatever, they look nice and they act nice. read more

My wife and I were invited to a holiday party at The Henry on Central. The servers were excellent, but the main course was very disappointing. I orded the skirt steak, medium rare. It was nearly inedible. Large pieces were full of gristle and tough connective tissue. It was extremely chewy and impossible to swallow. My wife's medium rare hamburger was way overcooked. We both thought it was not appropriate to send back our orders. We did enjoy the appetizers and dessert and that's why I gave it 2 stars rather than 1 star. read more

A couple of great friends and I randomly decided to hop into The Henry after pedicures at Aria (also a great spot)! I'm so glad we did. We sat at the inside bar looking out to the beer garden and loved the atmosphere.... The place had a nice crowd and a happy buzz in the air for a Friday afternoon. We were greeted and treated like old friends by our bartender, Alijah, who took great care of us and made outstanding drinks. The espresso martini is no joke...A+!! My friends loved it, and I was delighted by the custom B and V martini that Alijah whipped up for me. The "H" sprinkle in my drink quickly became an "A" - we loved that our Friday outing was all about exhaling (AHH...see picture). The atmosphere is a pleasant combination of relaxed and fancy with a little of a 70's decor. The food was tasty, done well with good flavor. The appetizers we tried were brussel sprouts and pot stickers. Both were very good although they came at different times and we waited a long time for the pot stickers (20 minutes). The wait staff finally told us our order had been delivered to a different table. Entrees of filet, short rib, and skirt stake were cooked and seasoned well. The horseradish potatoes are a bit overpowering and less pleasing to the palate. The reason for the star reduction is service & kitchen planning. The staff from hostess to manager need additional training. We checked in for our reservation and were told to wait a minute while they cleaned a table. Fifteen to 20'minutes later we check in again to be told they forgot about us and were finally seated. Between the hostess situation, losing track of our appetizer, not providing steak knives for our entrees and being delivered food that was meant for a table next to us when we were settling the bill, the staff seemed unorganized and confused the entire experience. Almost at the end of our meal, the manager brought over a soda we didn't order and walked around confused about which table it was meant for. ... Not ours, sorry dude. The last final disappointment was when we were ordering and learned the kitchen had run out of scallops and chicken. Two entree dishes we preferred were unavailable. Very disappointed!!! I can't say I would recommend this Henry. It seems the planning and organization is subpar and if it wasn't a comedy of errors we could laugh about, I would have left super angry for dropping almost $300 and getting inexcusable service and a kitchen that was not prepared for an evening service of customers. Disappointing first impression at the new location. I was really looking forward to checking out the new location, but unfortunately, the experience was soured the moment I walked in. The hostess gave off an immediate vibe of rudeness and disinterest, as if simply greeting guests was beneath her. Her attitude was dismissive and cold, making it clear she has little interest in working in a customer-facing role. First impressions matter and this kind of behavior is not typical of Central Phoenix, where hospitality, friendliness and warm, genuine interactions are the norm in this area. This was my first time at "The Henry". We ordered the crab cake and being from Maryland and knowing what crab cakes should taste like this was on point, very satisfying. We also had the Seared Tuna Chop and that was delicious as well. The highlight of the night was the Braised Short Rib, originally we couldn't get it with the mash potatoes (I believe there was an issue with the texture). The manager Milo and our waitress Nadia were so kind and accommodating in finding another option for us besides the mash potatoes. Honestly, I much prefer the Arcadia location--they're way more down to earth over there. The HOSTS!! Gah! The hosts here threw me off right away with the whole Scottsdale-style attitude and over-the-top outfits. And a three-hour wait for a table of three... on a Thursday at 4:45PM? Wild. The food was fine, but nothing special. I'd much rather go somewhere nearby that offers a richer culinary experience and treats you like family. If I wanted the full-on Scottsdale scene, I would've driven to Scottsdale. At this point, just bring back Applebee's! read more
