The Hive is a fun place to kick back, relax and enjoy some above average and tasty bar food. Clearly some thought has gone into the Menu, food prep and plating, all which makes it special to come here. Btw, the Mixologist is fantastic! See attached photos. We came here one Thursday afternoon around five for HH. It was a mild low eights with a cool breeze, so we sat outside. They had several TVs both inside and out, tuned to some east coast game. There was a mix of folk stopping off for something cool to drink after a long day, along with parents and their kids. Our server Megan stayed on top of everyone outside and always seemed to be nearby. Since it was HH, they had some well drinks they were featuring. We also ordered their Pulled Pork Sliders $18.50 and their Hatch Chili Burger $21.00. Both were very tasty. Our tab ran us $70, before taxes and gratuities. 2022.06-19/SUN_noon: Food Server/Nessa Our experience was excellent from the time we walked in to the time we left. The staff was incredible to watch and I love their uniforms. What I loved about this place was the ambiance. It really was a great feel walking in and the outstanding hospitality. Nessa was absolutely fabulous! She had really great suggestions! She was dead on! I felt like I was back home at one of my favorite local joints. This would be my favorite place for sports because for every angle of the restaurant, there was a TV you can watch! We can't wait to be back already. It'll definitely be on the agenda each time we visit Grandma! We actually took Grandma! She even ordered a Painkiller cocktail (suggested by our beautiful, no rockin' server) which really was a doozy! We started with the the Hive House Disco Frittes. That's a mound of fries, fried cheese curds, bacon crumbles, Parmesan cheese with Sriacha Aioli. Holy moly, it was delicious. The cheese curds just did it for me! Flavor explosion! Just great comfort food. We ordered the Chicken Sandwich, the Fish and Chips, and the Cheezilla Burger. Each entree was carefully assembled and presented. The portions are great! Everything was piled high. You will have leftovers if you order an appetizer! You've got to be hungry! The entrees are unexplainable! You would have to see my photos. All entrees were just gorgeous. They were delicious. The Fish & Chips were fantastic. I swear they brought out the entire fish! So succulent and juicy with not much breading. It wasn't greasy and dense! Looks can be deceiving! It was light on the tummy. What will knock your socks off is the malt vinegar based dipping sauce and I LOVE that they topped the chips with malt vinegar - that's my favorite touch that was added to the whole entree. But the white malt vinegar house dipping sauce will pack that awesome punch and it compliments the fish! Wowsers!! The Cheezilla Burger was another ultimate favorite! The burger was extremely juicy. What will get you is the presentation. It is served with fried cheese! You heard me right! It had a blanket of fried cheese on it!! It was absolutely delicious. Like I said, it's super juicy!! The Hive was great with a capital G! I have been waiting to go here for a while and now I regret putting it off, all the gastric adventures to enjoy. The place was full even at 4:30 on a Friday. Despite that we were seated immediately. Can't say that people arriving after us were that lucky. I had a mule and it was poured well and had good flavor. Ordered the cheese curds...not a mistake, Yum! Shared some wings, perfectly done BTW and the tri- tip. Now I am going to say, I like steak and I can cook it like no ones business. This meat was PERFECTLY cooked medium and the combination of arugula, cheese and chimichurri made such an impact on my palette that it can only be described as delightful. I am a week late in my review as myself, wife and son visited around 8PM the day before Valentine's day. The restaurant was almost to capacity but we were happily seated as soon as we stepped in. We are once a month visitors and have tried the gamut from their menu. Their food has never disappointed along with their selection of craft beers and mixed drinks. I just want to give a special shot out to Keaton. We have been lucky the last few times to receive her service. She has recommended menu options and drinks in which we are happy to try and later enjoy thanks to her. Because of Keaton I am happy to post this review with 5 stars. So this morning we had a reservation for Finch, however when we arrived there were No TVs to watch Sunday football! We came into The Hive for your first time in hopes that there was some kind of game on... there absolutely was! There's over 10 different TVs to watch any game from, we have never been here before so we were unsure if they'd have good food... Boy we were pleasantly surprised not only with the AMAZING food we also had the best customer service experience. It's a little small for the crowd it commands. I couldn't find any purse hooks at the bar. That is the extent of my complaints. Everything was very good! CHELSEA was my bartender and we made a little adjustment to one of the drinks on the menu and it was stupid good like I couldn't believe how good it was! I got the fried pickles and they were a little too much batter like some thing you would get out of a sushi place. I'm used to the corn bread type or lighter. We have been here 3 times and it keeps getting better. We had Star as our server 2 times and she went above any beyond for our large party. She was extremely friendly and was super accommodating as we have a child with extreme food allergies. An added bonus was seeing the employees being free to show off their tattoos. We had the cauliflower, steak, fish n chips, and finished the night off with the churros. I placed a pickup order of friend pickles. They tell me 20 mins and I arrived in 15. The place was insanely slow for a lunch hour on a Saturday. The bartender that first noticed me saw me but ignored me and don't approach me. The second one then came out from the back and asked if I had been helped. I told him I had a pickup order. He went and looked and came back and said it wasn't quite ready and took my payment. I then waited another 10 minutes before I was asked if I was helped again by a young man. Another 15 minutes and a server brings out my order and tell me to pay . I told her I paid the man at the bar and she was confused. I shower her the receipt and left with my order. We get to the car to eat the fried pickles (I am judge fan of fried pickles we drive to places to try them out all over California) and they were like Chinese chicken fingers with all the extra breading and no pickles. Between the whole order there was maybe half of a pickle tops spread between 10 pieces. It was awful I mean the worst ever. If I put this kid if for our I'd be ashamed. This past Saturday me and my beautiful wife celebrated our 9 year Anniversary and decided to try out the Hive. We have to admit this was such a lovely experience because the staff was amazing, our waitress was prompt and friendly. The whiskey cocktail was crisp and refreshing. As for the food; we definitely recommend coming to the Hive, the Angus Tri-Tip was juicy and melts in your mouth and the garlic compliments the dish. The salad was a tasteful choice to pair with our meal. As for the restaurant itself it was very simple, the bar area was full and gave a homey vibe that made you feel relaxed as you ate. Been here twice and both times great food and great service! The chimichurri that comes on the trip tip is sooo good. The onion rings taste like they are cut and battered in house. They are crispy and delicious! Same with the French fries too - they are crispy and really good. The pulled pork sliders were good and surprisingly pretty filling. They were stacked with pork and coleslaw. I will say I don't like a ton of bbq sauce and the amount on these was just right for me. If you prefer lots of bbq sauce, make sure to ask for extra. We have passed by this place so many times, and I've had drinks here once... finally came in for dinner! Im going to start with ALL the good because there is so much of it! We started with Buffalo Wings and fried Cauliflower. Both were damn good. The tempura batter on the cauliflower was perfect. Light. Not greasy and the sriracha aioli was the perfect compliment. The wings, cooked well, crispy skin, ranch was yummy! Not spicy. My friend ordered the Fish and Chips. It was the best fried fish I have ever had so far! The fish wasn't fishy and the beer batter was light and no greasy! And it was HUGE! Probably 9 inches long! My GF and I got the Charred Tri Tip and some cheese curds. The cheese curds were good. Not the best I've ever had but by far not the worst. They were fried so much there was no more squeak. That's about my only complaint. The Tri Tip was ordered medium rare... it came out medium well. That was a huge bummer but it was pretty tasty. Could use some salt. But the accompaniments made up for it. I got a salad with balsamic plus it come with chevre cheese which is my favorite. The hive use to be one of my favorite places to eat we literally go there all the time, until this last visit, now I honestly feel just grossed out. Please see my video to believe it. First they brought my burger raw and I sent it back. Everybody at my table was done eating so I just asked if they could please box it. I ordered fish and chips, nephew ordered a burger and BIL preferred beef tips. Their food was delicious but I had the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Thankfully our waiter removed it from the bill. My whole order was really cold. It wasn't warm it was cold, like they mage my fish and chips then made the rest of the orders for my table.
