Seems like they were all going out of business with the rise of Amazon, etc. Hubs is really into this so we stopped in after eating at Little Snitch on Sunday. What a cool set up! Didn't end up purchase anything yet but let me tell you what a cool place. Their inside rock crawling track was awesome to watch, they had a competition going on. They were able to answer all my questions and help guide me in the right direction if I ever do get into the RC sport. Great selections from beginner to advanced, plus everything seemed to be priced somewhat reasonable compared to what was online! Such a huge selection too it was awesome! read more

The reviews on here are simply not fair. Travis @ the Hobby Garage is amazing. There are many R/C stores in the valley. Each has pros and cons. Travis has always shot me straight. Never over sold on anything. Tells ya straight up, this model is meh, this model is bad and this is why, etc. I used to live 15 minutes from this store. Now it's an hour. I still make this trip simply for one reason. Travis. Don't be fooled by the random 1 star reviews. It is weird it's 1 or 5 right? Hobby Garage is a true asset to the hobby. If you don't like "grumbling" or "sarcastic fun", go shop on Amazon and buy things that you A,) don't need or B.) will break because you read it was cool on Reddit. They have something for all skill levels. They have most items in stock, and if they aren't they are just on backorder. Hello, as most of you know RC stores are over priced. This specific rc store was short staffed and way over priced. I wanted 2 ( 2 s battery's) and they didn't have NOT ONE in Stock! I asked for a battery charger 2X and the employee was rude and pointed behind me, saying it was right there. I went up to the counter and I asked him how much it would be and the replied with 160$!!! I told him it's 120 on Amazon and he replied with that's Amazon, if you're not going to buy it get out of my store. I purchased my first ever RC car yesterday and simply wanted to get into the field with my uncle and this is a horrible welcome, first time walking Into an rc store I was horrible treated by the employee ! do not recommend this store BUY ONLINE !!! read more

Soooo......I've been an RC guy for over 30 years. I remember bringing my kyosho ultima home in 1986 (Da Bears one da Super Bowl) . I sat at the kitchen table for 24 hours straight, squirming and holding myself when I had to pee because I couldn't walk away from it until it was done. I broke the drivers front control arm 30 seconds into the first run and had to suffer for 3 days till my mom would take me to the hobby store. 30 years later , From This place I have purchased 2 xmaxx , a 6s and later the 8s. An erevo 2.0, all the batteries, chargers and accessories for each of them, and felt good about the place. I found a traxxas slash 2wd base model ,in like new condition except for a$3 part. posted it on offer up as lost and found and no one has claimed it. I started tinkering with it . I'm over $600 in parts in 2 weeks and have not put a battery in it .could have just bought a top of the line but what fun is that. I called for a part and MICKEY answered and said " yep I have it!" and she added another part I didn't ask about that I was pretty sure traxxas didn't make , so after I got off the phone I looked it up to verify that traxxas didn't make the part , and called back to make sure we were on the same page before I drove down from Care Free. Husband answers , "Nope don't have the part."MICKEY TOLD ME YHEY HAD, wewh! Saved me 2hours round trip. I tinkered for a bit and thought of another part, I called again and got MICKEY, I asked her for the part and "YEP I HAVE IT!" "Hey Mickey could you double check and make sure we are talking about the same part because I almost drove down there a lil while ago over a part you said you had and when I called to verify your husband said you didn't have it. " She immediately became argumentative "THATS NOT WHAT YOU ASKED FOR" Well "that is what I asked for" "NO ITS NOT!" "LOL why are you arguing with me , I just want to double check before I come" " that's not what you asked for" this whole thing is on speaker phone so my Wifey chimes in with " that is what he asked for I've been sitting here the whole time, let talk to your boss" I quickly tell Michelle that this is the owners wife or co owner. And then wife said " I can't believe you own a business and treat your customers like this" MICKEY HUNG UP ON ME.... I call back and (Tyler I believe ) the husband answers and I tell him the short story of what just happened and he said "yeah there's not anything I can do about it." From his reaction immediately I know who wears the pants, and obvious isn't him. I guess in a tough spot like her parents lent them the money or she's a trusts fund kid or something ( I'm sure I'm not far off, I mean for him to act like such a bitch and not even apologize and for things to go down the way they did.... yeah I'm pretty sure I'm spot on )so he says" hey man, I gotta go, the store is packed with customers" I said " yeah man , I get it , business is good, take it easy" and he hung up. Now this whole thing seams pretty trivial . And that's how I felt as a customer like my business is no big deal. I get it things are in an up tick for that market demographic. The days will come soon when store is cold and empty. I'll still spend money if I want to , but it will not be there Tyler and Mickey. Was driving by noticed the sign and swung around into the parking lot. 1-way parking lot very strange to get into... Anyways we went in and were barely greeted by the one and only guy working. It seemed as in inconvenience that we walked into the store. I said hi and he kinda grunted something. I asked if he had any race parts or just bashing. Once again he kinda grunted. I walked around looking while he rudely starred at myself and my girlfriend. They did have a cool rock crawling course which I mentioned out loud but once again no response from him. If I was him I would be happy to have someone new stop into my shop especially in the area he is in as its off the beaten path. I have been in the RC industry for over 40 years now and I have to say this is one store not to spend your hard earned money in. I went hear to fix my tacon soar and with the reviews was hoping for a lot. Instead I payed a lot($40) when I already bought the Motor. Hey have a nice environment and nice people but they didn't do a good job only got 1 run with it and the esc fell off so they didn't put that on correctly so hoppfully they will re fix it with no fees and do it better!! Excellent customer service! I originally purchased a Traxxas Slash 2WD Pro truck from them through their Amazon.com store, but I found they sold a slightly different version of the Slash that I preferred. I called them up asking if they could switch the order for me. They made the change on the spot, and even though the one I wanted cost a bit more compared to the one I ordered, they charged me the same price!!! They shipped it the same day, and it arrived at my doorstep in two days even though it wasn't through Amazon prime. It was perfectly boxed and shipped, very happy with my purchase through them. I honestly couldn't ask for better service. I wished this store was local in San Diego county, but definitely be purchasing more from them online. read more

My go too place for all my RC needs , a great selection of crawler parts , and parts for almost any RC car

I really dig this place and its a 5-10 minute drive from my house. These people are organized and know how to run a shop for hobbyists or possibly even people that may need a little more help than someone with a bit more RC experience. Even after the holidays when they were slammed they spent ~15 minutes with me walking me through some common failure mode replacements. When I was a kid I had RC cars that hooked up to car batteries. I remember distinctly having a Frog, something else, and 3 Wild Willy's that I salvaged for parts until they eventually all were busted. I really loved those Wild Willys. WISH THEY WOULD BRING THEM BACK :) I've had my Slash 4x4 RC car for about a month and a week or so ago, it stopped moving. Last week I spoke with Brian OTP and he had said I could come in and he would show me how to replace a couple parts. Unfortunately my wife nixed my schedule, so I had to come in today. Brian wasn't in, so an individual named Lucas helped me and spent 10-15 minutes with me showing me the details of how to repair the a few common failure modes myself (so I don't have to bug em every time I need help). He even fixed the car not moving problem and showed me why/how it wasn't working. I bought a few of the common failure mode parts while in the shop. I did manage to break a rear stub axle carrier today (groan). I think they do full service but for me its a hobby, so I'll be replacing those myself. I got the impression they also fix cars for people less technically inclined (I'm an engineer by trade). I hope they happen to have Aluminum stub axle carriers or can order them so I don't have to mess around with replacing those every time I run into something at 40+mph. read more

This place is amazing! My sons RC always breaks down and we need somebody to repair it. The first time we went there I called them and the customer service was on point. When we dropped the truck off they were very nice and when we picked up I was amazed at the price for a part were other RC shops would have charged two times the price.
