I was torn between 2 or 3 stars. This, incase you don't know, is one of those immersive mystery shows which are quite popular. Its a cross between a series of escape rooms and a play of sorts.
The venue is large, if not particularly attractive (based in an industrial estate) and there is a bit of a walk and many stairs to navigate before you actually get into the "Hollow Hotel". The actors are in character upon arrival and it doesn't take long for the show to begin.
Once you are lead to your room the game/show/event begins. There are some clues to figure out in your room that, hopefully, lead you to a way out and then you begin to interact with other participants and actors.
I guess this is where the problems begin, it all felt a bit rushed, it states that the experience lasts an hour and a half, i'm not sure it does. If the group you are with are not moving quick enough the actors begin to push you along, in order to get the entire game/show/event over to their schedule. I think they need to not book so many shows and have longer sessions to allow people to actually complete the puzzles themselves.
The narrative for the game/show/event needs a bit of a tidy up, perhaps some bits to read upon arrival or on the long walk up to the 'hotel' reception area.
I think the idea is good but it just needs some fine tuning, especially for the price they charge for tickets. read more
