My wife wanted a custom door from home Depot. I asked if we could find an alternative and explain how poor the service was at the store. She said she really wanted that specific door so we went to home Depot. Going back to the door area there were two employees sitting there. I gave my phone to one of them that was on their website with the door we wanted. Well that person was looking up the door or doing whatever they were doing I asked the other person for a price on a door right beside us. The other person said "maybe $600 to $1,200." I asked if I could get a definitive price. She again said "maybe $600 to $1,200." It was pretty apparent she was not going to type the information into the computer and get a price so I gave up. By this time the first person who was looking up the door said they couldn't help me because they were locked out of their account. They printed a piece of paper and told me to take it to the front and the front would scan it and let me pay for it. I took the paper and my wife and I left. Before going to the front we went to the garden area because my wife wanted a Ryobi battery operated chainsaw. Everything was locked up behind cages and there was no one around so I approached the first employee I could find who was on the phone and who appeared to be a manager. As I stood there waiting to be acknowledged another employee came up. The manager told the employee to go check some locks on an aisle and make sure they were all secured and "see what he wants" motioning with her head to me. The employee looked at me but didn't say or ask anything. I followed him to the aisle he was going to which was also the aisle where the chainsaw was located. He never said anything to me and had just walked away. Arriving at the aisle II pointed to what I wanted and said " I'd like to get this please." The employee didn't acknowledge me and began checking locks to all of the cages on the entire aisle. After he was finished he came back and I repeated my request. It was crazy how he acted as though I wasn't even there at first. He couldn't figure out how to find what we wanted at first. He was unable to locate it but eventually he did. He then took the chainsaw and walked away without a word. What was going on we wondered. We were able to figure out he went up and gave it to the customer service desk. He never said a single word nor was he ever to be seen again after walking away with the chainsaw we wanted. Insane. We saw a chainsaw and told the cashier we wanted to purchase that item and pointed to it. The cashier brought it over and set it on the counter and ring it up. My wife then handed the cashier The paper from the door people and said we also wanted to purchase this. The cashier looked at the paper then looked at my wife and said "What's this?" I said the people in the door area told us they could scan that paper and it would allow us to purchase the door we wanted. The cashier showed the paper to the same manager from before and they talked a bit. Then as we waited I asked what was happening. The cashier said they needed approval from another manager because the door was on sale. Apparently we were not allowed to have the sale price as advertised on their website and is also printed out on the paper without manager approval. After waiting a bit I said to cancel the door. I didn't want to purchase it anymore. It was really ridiculous. The cashier said they're just waiting on manager approval. I told them I was not interested in waiting anymore for someone to approve me to make a purchase. After paying for the chainsaw the cashier turned around and walked away without so much as a thank you or a goodbye. My wife was with me so she realized how poor the service actually was and it wasn't me exaggerating. She agreed we would never shop there again and is finding another door. read more

We went here to buy a small battery operated chainsaw. We already know what we want so my husband went to find an associate who can help us since all the equipments were locked. The person in charge of the department instead of acknowledging us, went and checked all the locks if they're locked. My husband and I just looked at each other and wondered if he ever saw us. No way he can missed us since we were standing in the middle of the aisle. So, finally, when he's done, we asked him to help us again. He got the saw that we wanted to buy and without acknowledging us again took it and walked away. There was another associate and we asked her where did the associate who got the saw went. She said he probably went to give it to the cashier. A simple, " The saw will be waiting for you at the check-out whenever you're ready" would have sufficed from the first associate! The sale price of the saw doesn't justify us being treated like poop! This is hands down the worst Home Depot that we've been to. Service's very poor and lacks professionalism. We'll never go back to this location again! read more

Got 4x8 plywood cut into 6" strips. 7 boards total. One board was 5.5" strips x6 then 1 was about 7" so out of 64 only 7 were poor. WAS PLEASED. The gentleman were phenomenal and I told them to place the saw on bottom 6" up and lock it. They thought it was brilliant and was much more efficient and faster. I came back to get new board cut and the guy who helped marked the plywood then looked in the vacuum hole to line it up working his way down. When cutting last 2 strips he said it's not going to be even and blamed it on manufacturer that it's not exactly 4x8. Well I measured his cuts and some were 6.5 and under 6. I explained to him why would you not measure saw from bottom to 6" Up and lock the saw in place so the strips are evenly cut. They are $30 each board. Not even going to bother going back and will take it as a loss. Everyone was very nice but the lack of using a saw for even cuts is mind blowing lol. 5 stars for customer service. 3 for the frustration. read more

Went to HD in Danville on 12-22 TO purchase a dishwasher. The two men in the department were sitting behind the desk talking. After waiting for a while we finally got one of them to rise and help us. We picked out a dishwasher, the salesman went back and returned to say it was not in stock. We picked out another, he left and came back with the same story. Then he told us that they kept none in stock but would deliver one for an additional charge for delivery since the one we had selected was under the minimum. We told him delivery was not necessary since I had brought a truck and would just take it home. He told us they had none in stock and he could not sell the display model. Very disgusted by now, we bid him and HD adieu, went to Lowes and with absolutely no problems of any kind purchased a new dishwasher that WAS in stock. I'll know where to go next time. Customer service went from so-so to terrible. The last two times I have gone there the people that I tried to get to help me were rude and did not want to give even a little customer service. No wonder the parking lot is always empty. The other thing I find hard to believe is that in the middle of a pandemic I only saw one employee wearing a mask. Do NOT use Home Depot to redo your kitchen or cabinets of any type!! They did a halfway job and have been a pain to get a hold of to have them come fix their mess! They contract the job out to the lowest bid and go with that! We are missing a cabinet door. The side paneling has huge bubbles in it. The laminate under the cabinets is not sealed properly. The siding of the cabinets are coming off! The kitchen has only been "done" for 2 weeks. It has been hellacious to get a hold of anyone to come fix the kitchen! I'm about to go crazy! Go to Lowes. The Home Depot in Danville, VA is a joke. My experience with them was over about a 2 week time frame, so it's too much to type out. Kim, the store manager, and Stephanie, the assistant store manager will lie to cover each other's screw ups. I do not recommend ordering anything through this store. It will be a nightmare. Absolutely awful customer service. We went to the garden department for landscape bricks. The girl did not know what they were, did not know what "hardscape" was, and refused to call anyone to help us. When we finally found what we wanted on our own, we could find no one to help us load them. We are not young, and it took nearly an hour for us to get the bricks onto the cart. There we two young people in the checkout "cabin" which was much cooler inside, but only the girl was checking people out. We asked for help, putting the bricks into our truck, they said no one was available. I have never been treated so poorly. I will no longer go to VA for anything. I made a special trip, lots farther from me than my local Lowe's, never again. read more

I would give this Home Depot zero stars. My husband and I went in to talk to them about a refrigerator. We were told by the appliance person that they only delivered to our ZIP Code on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We went to customer service to talk to them about getting a delivery on Friday and were told that the manager, Susie, would need us and appliance to talk to us about delivery issues. After waiting for 15 minutes and no one showing up we left the store. This situation has impacted our perception and opinion of Home Depot and will affect our purchasing anything from this chain in the future! read more

We traveled 45 minutes to come to this store because the app said they had the items we needed in stock. We found them on the very top shelf so we asked customer service to call for assistance. No one came after 10 minutes so I asked her to call again. Again no one came-so disappointed. We will never come baCk to this particular store. Headquarters needs to do a little investigating as to why this store has such a lie rating. The store manager should be ashamed of him/herself. The parking lot was rather empty for a Home Depot. Me and my family haven't been back to The Home Depot since they first opened. About a year after they first opened we decided to take a tour you may say of Home Depot. As long time Lowes customers we were expecting top notch customer service with semi good prices. Unfortunately we aere met with what seemed at the time; an empty store. We were looking at Halloween decorations and most items were out of place or sold out. Pricing items became really difficult as items were not in the right places. This was no big deal at the time as we thought we could just ask a sales associate. Again; unfortunately there were no sales associates around to ask anything. Surely someone was at the registers. Nope; it was a ghost town inside of Home Depot. Thats when my wife had enough and we just left and took our business back to Lowes. I do not know the reason for an empty store and lack of employee's but I do know that this was not a fun experience especially for a newcomer to The Home Depot. This is my family's first and only experience at The Home Depot. read more

Do not buy appliances from Home Depot they can not get the order correct after a number of tripes to store and phone calls. Nobody even manager knows what is going on with my order so confusing I do not where I stand with the order ( refrigerator and washer) am I going to get it yes or no ???
