I have never experienced such terrible customer service over the phone. I called their number that is online and someone answered after about 5 minutes of waiting and asked what department she could transfer me to. I replied with the garden center. She 'transferred' me, but was then on hold for another 10 minutes. Another lady answered the phone and said the exact same thing: "what department can I transfer you to?" I was calm and stated that I have been on hold for a total of 15+ minutes and I just wanted to know one question that pertains to the garden department. Then she said that someone in that department was right next to her and she would ask him. Places me on hold again for another few minutes. By this point- I am already on my way to look myself because nobody could seem to get their shit together. I made it to Home Depot and had found exactly what I was looking for before they were able to answer me with an untruthful answer. Step your customer service skills up, I'm heading to Jerry's. read more

Good selection, and I appreciate their self check out. Quite often hard to find help when needed, and picking up lumber requires loading it onto a cart, and then having to transfer it to your truck. I did however receive excellent service in the paint department. read more

I would rather drive the 15 minutes to the other Home Depot on green archers then 3 min down the road this store! This the worst Home Depot I've ever been to. I walk in the other day to get a sample of paint for my wife and the lady behind the paint desk is working as I'm looking for the paint, I find it walk up the counter and she says " sorry going on break" and walks off . "My replacement is over in appliances." I start to walk over there and ask someone, they are already helping someone so I decide to wait by the paint counter. I'm sure he will call someone to come help he just busy right? NOPE! I wait for about 5-10 min with a four year old no less and I can't find seem to find help. I'm walking with my kid all around paint looking for someone ( thank god she was behaving). Then I see a women and I kinda yell to get attention and she comes over with a smile and I ask for just a few little samples and she had enough attitude to roll her eyes at me. I'm sorry am I putting you out by buying a few samples? Got my samples and GTFO of there ASAP. I wish I could remember there names. read more

About the only thing I like about Home Depot (HD), this one included, is the store layouts are similar. If you have been in one HD you can go to another and intuitively locate what you are looking for. This is a good thing, because it isn't likely you are going to get any help. I find it humorous the staff walks by and asks what kind of day I'm having, but not a service engaging question about what I might be looking for. There aren't many better alternatives in the "big box" category. Jerry's has slightly better service, but I find the product selection at HD to be a little better. It's a wash. Pick whichever one is closer, unless you need real service, then seek out a smaller more focused retailer in Eugene. read more

Horrible. Turn around and go to Jerry's. I'm writing this from my half carpeted house going into a holiday weekend. We received quotes from all over and chose this one because of their installation offer. We chose to pay slightly more because their quote included removal of old carpet. At no time during the measure were we instructed that we may have to remove some of the carpet. There were detailed discussions about electronics and closets. Today Romanoff Renovations shows up. Late. Walked through entire house with me. They carpeted 2 rooms before telling me they have to leave and can't finish because we didn't remove our downstairs carpet "as instructed" and this was the first we'd heard of this. The only documentation that was shared with us says "homeowner MAY be required to remove carpet in xxx room" and again we were never told about this at ANY time in spite of an in person measure and email reminders about furniture moving and preparations. Absolute nightmare. The one star is for the very first person who helped up pick out our carpet. Everyone else is a nightmare. read more

The best part about Home Depot on Seneca is their return policy is pretty good and most the time the sales associates are most helpful. I've spent wayyyyy too much time at this particular Home Depot store, due to all the renovation I've been doing on my home. Too many store trips. Auggggh! For awhile it seemed like I practically lived there and was on my way to knowing all the floor people, and service desk people on a first name basis. It was almost embarrassing. In general I think the place is underrated and gets a bad rap. Of course no big-box store is going to be perfect, There is the occasional headache, like an uninformed worker, or an item t that was returned and re-sold. You have to use your head and double-check things and shop around and sometimes check to be sure you're getting a new item. But problems are rare and good deals and good products are typical and if you have a problem, they work with you to resolve it painlessly and quickly as possible. My experience tat that store, is that they have some top notch people working in key departments there. I've gotten copious amounts of superb advise on tiling, flooring, various construction issues. I've gotten some great deals on tools. All the Rigid tools (Home Depot brand) have been reliable and are good performing and nicely engineered. People are generally quick friendly and knowledgeable. They have great store hours and that can be a real life saver to the home fixer-upper. They also have an excellent return policy. They can e-mail receipts to help you keep a log of what you have. They have pretty good stock of commonly needed items. If you're really trying to go high end or specialize you sometimes have to find other sources. They try to keep everything at a very affordable/good quality price point and generally succeed at finding a good balance. I prefer the 'vibe' of the Seneca store to the Greenacre store, but I'm also just used to it. My main warning is, be astute about whose advise you take, and check your information through multiple sources as much as possible and use your common sense. Most of the time you'll find the HD folks will give you top-notch advise and save you a lot of time and money and come up with great ideas you'd never think of. Occasionally you'll get a well-intentioned ninny, but that is life. We all get to be that person and encounter that person now and then. Most of them are friendly. read more

So we ordered a new kitchen appliance set, new washer and dryer as well. The dishwasher needed a separate installation company then they provided so they said we had to go back to the original Home Depot we bought the appliance package from to make that happen. That was the Walla Walla Washington Home Depot. Fortunately I was there over Christmas and brought in my paperwork and took a picture of the sign that said they didn't do Oregon installations. So Yep back to the Eugene store. After they figured it out they sent us to the cash register to purchase the installation. Upon which time they said they couldn't do that and sent us off to the special services desk. Currently were going through our paperwork and showing them that the guy in the kitchen section just set it up for us and we needed to pay for it. Ridiculous hassle on all fronts. That was just the installation issue with the dishwasher. The Home Depot in Walla Walla also ordered a white dryer when everything else is black stainless steel. Doesn't seem to be a reason for this he just did it. So we of course had to get that fixed before our delivery date as well. I guess I should be grateful that the delivery for the Black Friday installation couldn't take place till January 25 so they could get their shit together. read more

I'm only giving one star because I have to and because one gentleman was very helpful in the flooring department. Other than that this was the worst Home Depot experience I have ever had. No one knew where anything was, we were pointed in different directions and never taken to the product when clearly we needed help finding what we were looking for. The employee who "helped" us cut our wooden pole for our closet was unfriendly and when we asked his thought of how long we should cut the wooden pole for our closet his reply was, "well I don't know what hardware you have" in a mumbled voice. We left and headed to the flooring aisle for the hardware for the closet pole and were told we had the wrong pole and we needed to get the one in the flooring department not the wood department. This pissed me off because we were sent to the wrong department in the first place by two different employees who didn't take the time to ask about our project and were quick to get back to what they were doing. So then we were told the only poles that will fit their hardware they sell are located in the flooring section. So we grabbed the right pole to fit the hardware and then when we went back to get it cut to size we were told to do it ourselves manually because no one could find the wood department employee and honestly we couldn't find anyone to help us except for at the front of the store. My boyfriend had to saw the pole manually by hand and then we finally got the hell out of there. read more

My wife took back an Exide car battery that was leaking somehow around the top seam. It was about one-and-a-half years old. Without any receipt for the old battery they gave her a brand new one. I have an Exide battery in my other car and have never had a problem with them in the past but my post is really about expressing my appreciation for promptly dealing with the return. read more

I was new to Eugene and H.D. looked like a good place to shop for our home remodel. Everyone is very helpful and almost too friendly. We began with buying some new carpet.. ..big mistake! Once the sale is made for flooring, doors, windows and anything that requires installation you are automatically turned over to a contracted company(Romanoff Co.) for flooring and you are totally on your own. Our one day carpet installation turned to a 3 month ordeal and H.D. kept giving us the friendly run around. We finally got some results by contacting their customer support at the home office. There is no compensation for damages and bad installations are just salvaged. I would never recommend H.D. for any serious home remodeling. I have canceled my new H.D. credit card and am very thankful I didn't get any doors or windows from there. read more

This place is beyond horrible and doesn't deserve even one star. Every time I go there they don't have the thing I need. If I have a question about a product the employees don't have the answers. They have zero expertise and I mean ZERO! I just used some glue that the null-knowledge Home Depot employee told me was water proof and would work on rubber. It is NOT water proof and/or it does not adhere to rubber. Thanks for the crappy information. Now I can take 3-4 extra hours to redo what I already did. I honestly feel that this place owes me a huge refund for all of the cost in time and money that I've wasted here. I've rated the price range for this place as ultra high and it should be obvious why I rated it such. Let me start by saying that I normally don't write reviews, but my experience was so bad that I feel it is necessary to do so. On June 22 we ordered a new sliding glass door. Danny Dunn, the salesman assured us that the door would be measured in 5-7 days and installation would be completed in 4 weeks. We paid a 600$ dollar deposit and eagerly awaited our new door. Time was important to us since the existing sliding glass door was coming off the rails and was extremely dangerous for our 6 and 4 year old children. While we waited for the job to be done, we had to lock the existing sliding glass door in place so that there would not be any possibility that our children would knock it off the rails. Approximately 5 weeks later and multiple phone calls to Home Depot, and they finally sent someone out to measure, which took a total of 1 minute. Another 2 weeks went by before they called and said that the earliest that the door could be installed was September 1st. This was 3 times the length they promised that the job would take and all the while we can not use the door since it is a hazard and locked in place. The day before the installation was to take place, Eric H. called me to tell me that they had to cancel, but don't worry, he would call me back and get someone out the following week to install the door. Two more weeks passed, and still nothing. Multiple messages were left for Eric H without any returned calls. I called the Installation Manager Danny and he assured me that he would "take care of it". That was the last that I heard from him. I called him no less than 5 times and left messages for him to call back, without any success. Finally, on September 21, we decided to cancel the job and ask for a refund of our 600$. I was able to reach Allen Hacke who said that he "reviewed our chart and could not believe that this had happened, and that Home Depot did not do business this way". he promised that he would expedite our refund so that we could get someone else to install our door. The very next day Eric H called and profusely apologized for "dropping the ball", and hoped that we did not blame Home Depot. so now, 12 days have passed since those conversations and still no refund. Home Depot just called and said that they are coming to install the door today. I told them that the job had been cancelled, and promptly called Allen Hacke back to see why he had not cancelled the job and refunded our money. When I talked to him this time, he said that he had no recollection of talking to me or any knowledge that we wanted to cancel the job. I am just amazed that a company of this size would treat consumers in this manner. I urge anyone who is contemplating using Home Depot to reconsider and use someone else. They are the most dishonest company I have ever dealt with. I will never book a job or frequent their store again, and will make sure that everyone I know is informed of their poor customer service. read more

Home Depot did the roof on my very small house. Two bedroom Manufactured home in a gated comunity. They charged 6 thousand 600 dollars which I thought was outrageous , but my dad wanted to help me out.. Well first rain of the year happened on Friday october 12. Roof leaks... in between the house and the shed. But it shouldn't leak. not for 6600dollars. My dad called the guy who was in charge of the job and he said he would send some one right away. Well today is Monday October 15. pouring down rain and no show from Home Depot... Would I recomend them NO WAY!!!!!!!. If they can get this message. and I hope they do... I am seriously disappointed with the service... NO CALL NO SHOW.. UNACCEPTABLE... I would be fired from my job for such performance. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING. read more

Horrible customer service! I will never buy anything from this place ever again. When I tried to purchase at the store and once employee would send me to another & they would send me to another I should have known better. Nope, tried 3 times on different days. Even tried to order online for two consecutive days without luck. I tried to place my order on multiple computers at different locations. I talked to someone on there instant messenger and did not feel comfortable texting my payment info so I had to call. Waited on the phone with the customer service rep for 45 minutes! Ridiculous. Got my order place but missed my ideal delivery window. I was going to pay to have it shipped quicker, nope almost $50.00 per item!! My order was already over $1000.00! But for my inconvenience they wanted to give me a $20 gift card. I told them to keep it because I will never buy anything from them ever again. Never Again!!! read more
