All checkout is now self-checkout. The cashiers stand and observe and only get involved if needed. When I was there Sunday about 11:30, most were simply standing around. The checkouts are close together. The customer next to us let 6-ft 2×6's slide off his cart and they crashed just a couple inches from my husband's feet. He was wearing sandals, so this could have been a real problem. And the cashiers just watched. Many aisles are littered with boxes of products not yet placed on shelves or overhead. Sometimes there are rolling racks filled with product boxes while shelves remain empty. I understand that businesses are short of staff, so trying to cut them some slack. But it was truly a mess. Only a matter of time before a customer is hurt from tripping over something or other mishap. read more

I would give most Home Depots a 4 or 5 star rating. The one in Georgetown is a pathetic joke. I tried to purchase a Ryobi Bandsaw Tool today. It took 20 minutes to find someone available to unlock the wire cage so I could have access to it. I get it, there has been a lot of theft of tools walking out the door. Then they had to bring it up to the front for me to the contractor check out. Okay, still understanding no problem. I was about to purchase about $100 more small stuff (about a $275 total purchase) to along with it for a job that we have in the area. There's two lines operating out of three for contractor checkout. Then after waiting in the first line for about 15 minutes, they announce the line I'm in about 8 deep is for phone in credit cards. I'm like, ugh. So I walk over the second line where you can actually pay yourself, I'm 16th in line. After 20 minutes the lady finally checked out the first customer, she is obviously not real good at what she does. Seriously? So I walked up and asked the cashier, "is there another way I can pay for bandsaw?" Her response was, "No, this is the only line". My response, "Guess I'll go elsewhere" and left my stuff in the cart and walked out. I'm sorry, I don't have three hours to hang out in Home Depot. This process could have been avoided by having someone educated in what the building materials are at the contractor check out, so every item doesn't have to be looked up and by opening up the other vacant line. I wasn't the only that walked out at that moment. This particular store is poorly ran and is not contractor friendly at all. They didn't even have the metal studs I was looking for so I had to travel 10+ miles to Hutto anyway to get the additional materials I needed. What sucked, is Hutto didn't have the bandsaw so today was a waste of my time with Home Depot. There is no wonder this place only has barely at 3 star rating. Overall I would recommend Home Depot. They are not all the same with customer service or products as a warning. read more

I have a love/ hate relationship with Home Depot. Most of the time I can find what I need. They have a large inventory of everything. Which can cause a bigger problem. This problem is connectivity. I cant find something, do I try to pull up their app to help. Well, it's kinda hard to use the app when you have no signal and usually no wifi. I've also had issues with the site saying items were available and get there and in actuality they're not. I've placed orders on that assumption and then had orders canceled with no warning until I get there and told by the customer service help. They best thing going for them is the people. When I find staff, they're always helpful and courteous. When things are missing, they can use their handheld to see if any is in stock and can even call other stores to find it. Hand you a sheet with manufactures phone numbers and tell you to call the one that made your appliance. Seriously. ZERO service after the sale. This is my favorite H D store, clean, organized and a superior staff. I arranged for a pergola through this store to be installed over my patio at the rear of my home. Until now, we could not use the patio on warm days because it caught the full afternoon sun. The in home service provider is a company called Lawn Master. The estimator was thorough and professional. The installers stuck to the plan and delivered what was promised. This project needed a building permit and even the building inspector was very impressed. Needless to say, we are looking forward to finally using our patio even on the hottest days. Thanks H D & Lawn master. read more

When I was there last week there were 4 guys I saw not wearing masks and the employees were doing nothing about it. So don't advertise that you require masks when you do not. Do not but appliances from this store. They have no idea how to run an appliance delivery service. We bought new washer & dryer with pedestals and we're told we'd get a call in two days telling us a four hour window they would deliver the following day. No one called; I had to call. Then they missed that delivery time and said they couldn't find the pedestals. Then they found them and scheduled another delivery time, which they missed by an hour without calling. One of the pedestals was damaged and missing parts. Now we're told a new pedestal is over a month out due to them being on back order. UPDATE: Home Depot refunded a small amount for the inconvenience. I am satisfied with the offer. read more

He explained everything I need to do - step by step and showed me the products I needed to complete the project. Usually I am compelled to write a review because of a of a terrible experience. But this time, it is because of the opposite. I returned some moldy birdseed. There was no problem there, it was easy. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Especially this young, tall guy ( I wish I remembered his name). He went above and beyond to help me. He saw me walking with a medicine cabinet in my hands and eagerly grabbed a cart for me. He even rolled a tall metal staircase and climbed to the top of it to help me look for another style. He also helped others in the aisles look for things. He was polite and professional. Give this man a raise! I usually only come to Home Depot to buy basic home needs such as light bulbs, fertilizers, paint, and other things for very small projects so I don't usually engage the workers on how to fix something so I can't speak to anything on that end. Normally I would probably just watch a you tube video anyways and only ask one of them if I still didn't get the video. Anyhow, my feelings towards Home Depot is a necessary evil. They are nice 1 stop shops for all home improvement needs, but I only come when something in the house needs fixing or replacing so it isn't like I'm coming joyfully. Sorry I'd rather be out trying the new hipster restaurants in town and writing Yelp reviews about them than spending my time fixing things around the house. I always recommend parking by the exit and enter through the exit to save yourself the walk of parking near the entrance and then having to hike from the exit back to the entrance. The customer service at Home Depot has always been decent. I like the fact that they can look up returns by credit card which saves you from having to hold on to paper receipts. They are also usually pretty good about taking the Lowe's 10% off coupons which come in handy when making larger purchases. read more

I was looking for a ceiling fan and this store showed seven in its system. I asked one fellow and he didn't bother to double check. I asked another person and he checked, but didn't find anything. I tried one more time to make sure. Alex, a younger fellow, coordinated with Tom. Tom appeared to be a manager and he assured me they would get to the bottom of the discrepancy. Alex was very determined and looked all over the store for the product. It was the hardest item to find that day. I found one and only needed one more. We are remodeling our home and we love to buy local. The Home Depot must be under new management or something. The store was very dirty. I was shopping for lighting and every box was covered with thick coating of dirt. Also the stock level was so low. Everything I looked at was out of stock or only one piece. So frustrating. I asked if they could transfer in from another store and they actually laughed. They said they don't do that service but I was welcome to drive and get my product. I've given this store SEVERAL chances. I've had to repeatedly go to other stores to find my needs. The knowledge of the "sales associates" is abysmal. I constantly find my needs either not stocked or just a few pieces. For instance , plug covers ,, the ones I needed were few or there was only one light fixture but no others. I'm done. I'm cutting up my Home Depot card and shopping Lowes from now on And let's not forget that I paid CASH for a clothes dryer only to be told it has to be delivered. On a Saturday morning, I had a garage full of water, a family that needed hot showers, and all the plumbers were asking for $$$ and wouldn't do anything until Monday. So I decided to try doing the work myself, but needed to drive 45-minutes to Georgetown to get the right propane water tank in stock. I called ahead to ask that they hold the parts, and when I arrived, all the parts were set aside on a cart and ready. I spoke with Stan in plumbing for about 15 minutes and I couldn't have found a better person to help me learn and prepare. Heck, I didn't even know how shark-bite fittings worked. Without a doubt the worst Home Depot I have ever been to. Paid extra for next day delivery on my online order. Chose between 10am-2pm. Get a call on Tuesday at 10:30 asking if Thursday would work. Uh. No. I paid extra to get it there on Tuesday. Thursday won't work. They tell me there is nothing they can do. Thursday is the earliest they can get it to me. Take it or leave. Ended up canceling my order and driving from San Antonio to purchase in store at Lowe's. Absolutely ridiculous. Terrible customer service. This store has gone from the one that sets the standard for customer service to one that you drive by and go an extra 15 miles to get to Lowes. No help, unresponsive staff, and seasonal items not in stock - during their season! It is unfortunate, because it's not everyone there - there are great folks that will help you, when you can find one. Stay clear of the cabinet reface and kitchen remodel group. Signed the contract and paid 2 months ago. Had to call to get a status since the contract was for completion in 6-8weeks. I knew more about the counter top delivery than they did. No project manager assigned, no material tracking and expedite, no body cares once they have your money and worst of all No forecast for completion May 29 This post got some action. First a call from customer service, then a note from the folks in Michigan trying to figure out why they were on the hook since I live in TX. Found a number in San Antonio, Finally someone reached out, verified all material availability and set today to start installation. So far today, no contact, no time for arrival. Called Home Depot Interiors to get an update, still waiting for a call back. This is the worst managed project I have ever been involved with. Get a real contractor for your project. Update, counter tops installed yesterday. Synergy Granite, Liberty Hill I think, HD subcontractor, did a great job. Reacted rapidly to an issue and resolved it quickly. Issues happen, how you react and resolve shows you care, great job. Next phase is underway, resurface cabinets. OK, job was complete yesterday. All of the trades did a great job and we are very happy with the end product. Home Depot Interiors just needs to take the lead in communicating with the customer. read more

I shop in this store monthly or so and have found it as good as any big box store and better than most. There always seems to be help around but I really suggest getting their app which will tell you what aisle and bay a product is in and if it is stock. Better yet, for stuff that is in stock, order online and just make one stop at order pickup. Most if not all big stores have apps that will tell you where to find what you are looking for. I even use H-E-B's to find oddball stuff. read more

Do not order flooring from HD in Georgetown Texas!! While I'm at it don't go to HD for anything! We ordered 120 cases of 12 mm Mesa Oak laminate flooring to do our entire house on June 8. They only have 32 in stock which we took with us. We were told it's a Home Decorators Collection by HD and we could get the other 88 cases delivered on the 15th of June. We paid the extra to have it delivered to the door.They would put in a restock order and get it. A week goes by and nothing. I call and I'm told because of "Floods" in Dallas it didn't ship. It will be on the 22nd of June. Guess what it didn't come in. I called them again. Oh, it's going to be delivered on the 28th of June. I call and go by on the 28th. It's scheduled to be delivered between 6am and 8pm. Who wants to be tied down by HD waiting? I'm told Manny will call me Saturday morning to tell me what the window for delivery will be. No call from Manny, I call Manny at10am and I'm rudely told I called and could not leave a message. He had the wrong phone number! My phone is tied to the order and he has the wrong one? Then I'm told the drive is scheduled to pick up at 11:30 and I'm scheduled about 12:32 but it could be different. But once Manny knows the stops he will call me. Hmm, what are the odds I get a call. Slim to none. I should have used Floor and Decor or Lowe's. But fell into the HD being closer trap and now I paying the frustration price! From now on I'll drive the extra to Lowe's in Leander.
