Absolutely Never Again - $4000 Mistake with Home Depot Appliances If I could give zero stars, I would. We ordered a full set of appliances from Home Depot - a washer/dryer set, a refrigerator, and a stove - totaling over $4,000. They confirmed everything was in stock and scheduled delivery for July 2. Only one item showed up. That's it. No call, no explanation - just one lonely appliance dumped at our door. To make things worse, the delivery crew refused to take the item back, even though we no longer wanted anything due to their failure to deliver. So we went in-store that same day, July 2, and canceled the entire order. They told us the refund would be processed. Guess what? On July 14, we were informed the cancellation wasn't even logged until July 7, and now we had to wait another seven days to see our money back. I don't know about anyone else, but we don't have thousands of dollars to just float in corporate limbo. Living paycheck to paycheck and being without a refrigerator, stove, washer, or dryer for weeks is unacceptable. We paid in full and were left with nothing but stress, inconvenience, and a whole lot of runaround. Home Depot, do better. This item was physically in store, I brought it to the cashier and it rang up as a penny. I knew that was obviously wrong but was willing to pay the correct price for it. Overall it made no sense, she said there is no way for her to adjust price, as a manager... It's right there, I showed her the picture of what I'm willing to pay for it. I can buy the product online, and still no. I try to ask for her boss and she said she is the floor manager then walked away with the product and left the cashier flustered and with no real answer I paid for my other items and left... on my way out the cashier says that she knows she can change the price because other managers have done it before. read more

So frustrated and disappointed. Service in the store was great. Paid to have a new dishwasher installed. Two times of taking off work and they forgot parts to install it. The third time they sent a guy who complained the whole time that he hates installing dishwashers. The next day my son's room on the lower floor was flooded. Ceiling fell into his bed and carpet was soaked. They couldn't send someone for several days so my husband pulled it out. The guy had not even hooked the water line to the dishwasher. It was continually running down the wall for 24+ hours. Home Depot gave me an insurance company to call and they have been giving us the run around for months. Wouldn't call back, only will email and would not send anyone out. I will be going to Lowe's for all my needs in the future. Home Depot needs to do better with their contractors and "insurance"! read more

Sue gave FANTASTIC customer service! I was returning a rental truck. Obviously, customers like me were involved with a move. Sue needed to go outside to check the mileage. Before going outside she offered me a bottle of water, I accepted. Then she asked if I wanted to sit down. Sue pulled a bar stool from behind closed door. In addition, she put the bar stool in front of a fan. I told her if I had a ring, I would ask her to marry me. Sue should be recognized for her high level of customer service! read more

Purchased washer/dryer tower. Good price. Man in appliances was nice and helpful. Now for the bad. I can't get my washer/dryer! Delivery company has cancel on me 3 time!! I even asked if I could just pick up myself. Told NO. When ever I call... I get the run around and told "all they can do is reschedule in two more weeks." It has been a month!!! read more

We are in the process of refurbishing our home. I'm at Home Depot at least once a day. They are so helpful and kind and patient.

On line order.....Had a delivery date scheduled. !2:30-4:30 time window on a Saturday. Come 4pm, still 5 deliveries ahead of me according to 'tracking'. After a few calls, find out that the truck broke down. Home Depot tried reaching the delivery service and the delivery folks would not answer the phone. Next possible delivery on the upcoming Tuesday. Never received a call or email confirming this, so I called on Monday (5/20) and was told that next possible delivery was not Tuesday (5/21), but not until the following week, (5/29). I had to chase after these people to get this confirmed (date AND time). I finally got an answer the day before, late in the day. I do not live in this house full time and this whole thing was a giant hassle. Would not do business with big ticket items because of 3rd party delivery service. Poor service/communication. Maybe buy a broom from HD, but not appliances if you need them delivered. Will stick with the mom and pop shop for appliances. They will be more reliable and actually service what they sell. read more

We bought blinds from the O'Fallon store and chose to have them installed by Home Depot. When the installer opened one of the boxes, 7 of the slats were broken. He said he would report it, and get them reordered. It's been almost 2 months and no word of what's going on, despite multiple calls to the number they supplied. As I was paying with my card and running thru the prompts I was Superceded by Raymond, who felt that it was his duty to read the prompts for me. This store has the absolute WORST customer service. I went in and picked-out some wood that I needed cut. An associate did a store wide page to get someone to come back to help me. After waiting 20 minutes, I went back to the front of the store and asked a different person to help me. He got on the phone and called a guy from the lumber department. I went back and waited an additional 10 minutes. No one showed-up. I went back up and told the associate to tell the lumber department to forget it. The man said, "No one came back there yet?" I said, "No and I'm tired of waiting. I'm going to go somewhere else." Then, this total jerk said to me and I quote, "I sell saws if you want one." The guy was a complete asshole and if I was the manager of the store, I would fire him on the spot. But, I doubt anything will happen to him. Just save yourself the aggravation and shop somewhere else. read more

Horrible customer service. Ordered vinyl deck railings they said would take 2-3 weeks and they would call us when it comes in. Decided to call them after that time frame and they were rude in saying it came in days ago. Pick up the order and it does not come with brackets. Sales person apologized and said he should have known that...had to wait another 2 weeks for brackets. Finally start project and one of the packages had 2 bottom sections and no top railings - had to return (not our fault) but they charged us additional $35 shipping to have it replaced...and wait for delivery again. The replacement came in and it was the wrong style! Once again, not our fault and they ARGUED to want to charge us another $35 shipping fee for their error!!! Unbelievable! Glad this project is over and I never have to go in that incompetent place again. read more

Don't buy appliances from Home Depot. They will gladly take all your money but does nothing in return to assist when you have an issue. Ordered my dishwasher in April 2020 and didn't receive it until Sept. and IT DOESNT WORK. Now I am jumping through hoops trying to get someone to replace it. I'm not very satisfied with the wood flooring. The quality of the wood was fine. The finished appearance was not like the sample or any online pictures. TOTALLY different. When showing pictures to the store managers they immediately turned to an over compensated defense mode. They were stating numerous reasons why things could have gone wrong, but nothing was mentioned about a remedy. The blame caster came out and none of the problem was "Their Fault". Perhaps a description/ disclosure/ disclaimer at the point of sale would have prevented the disappointment. General Manager: Shame on you. read more

The lady at return desk was a sour puss, all so can do is give you a dirty look and ignore you. The guys in electrical & plumbing very nice and helpful. Then there the help in lumber, none! An employee came back by the saw and I asked if he could cut a board and he said he would be right back after he took something to the register for a customer. Well after waiting about 15 - 20 minutes and watching him walk in and out of the store and never returning to cut the board I did something I never did before - I left all my merchandise at the saw, walked out and then bought everything at Lowe's. At Lowe's there were 2 guys there to cut my board, didn't even need to look for someone and then all the other departments there was someone that came up to me to see if I needed any help. First off I have normally had good customer service with Home Depot but this past weekend my experience was horrible with this particular store. I ordered a whirlpool refrigerator, Maytag washer and dryer 4 weeks ago to be delivered on Aug 18. On August 17 I had gotten my confirmation call for delivery from 7:30-10am. I waited until 10:00 with no delivery or phone call and decided to call the store. They said the delivery had been cancelled after calling me back twice to figure out where it was and why it hadn't been delivered. They said that the items I had ordered had been backordered and they did not have a date on when they would be delivered. I asked, "Why hadn't anyone called me to let me know???" I just moved into a new home with no refrigerator or washer and dryer. They said they didn't know but someone should have. After spending over $3000 on essential home items, you would think someone would have called to at least let us know so we could have done something. I asked them how they were going to resolve the problem and that I needed a refrigerator today. After 4+ hours of phone calls with Home Depot and whirlpool. They said they could give me an upgraded refrigerator to be delivered on August 28!!! 10 days from my delivery date and the washer and dryer were to be delivered in mid to end of SEPTEMBER!! I said I can't wait that long for a refrigerator! Finally, my fiancé and I decided to go up to the store after waiting two hours for them to call us back and never did! We asked for the floor models because we needed a refrigerator and our food was going bad since they were supposed to be here that morning. They were reluctant to give them to us but finally gave them to us with NO DISCOUNT on ANYTHING! Not even any percentage off for taking the floor models since we had too!! We had to make TWO trips up to Home Depot that day and deliver them and unload them ourselves. I've never had such a horrible experience with customer service in my life. Needless to say I'm very disappointed in Home Depot. It used to be one of my favorite places to go to shop, look around and dream about things that I could do with my home. read more

I was so happy with all the help that my daughter and I received. We have made weekly visits and every time we go we have all the help we need. We don't have to look far for help. It is like this store just opened with all the help we received. We are remodeling my daughters house we need everything. We met one customer in the store that assured us that we could do even the plumbing!!! We will tackle that after the roof, Thank you to all the associates that waited on us. I would not even give this store one star. For random small home improvement products, they have an average selection but do NOT expect any of the retail employees in any department to know about those products or be able to help you. I would not take any advice from employees in general. They are not necessarily trained in the departments that they work in, but will still pretend they know what they are talking about. Management is immature and impersonal if you have any issue. Do not waste your time talking to a manager named James specifically, nothing will be resolved. For projects, such as flooring installation, expect major delays due to the store's inefficiency and miscommunication with their delivery company AND with subcontractors. If you have any complaints, ask for the corporate number and just file a store complaint, do not waste your time explaining your concerns at the store level. They will not help you. read more
