The staff are amazingly rude and unhelpful, and so very patronizing. Once is a bad day, twice is…read morejust rudeness. We picked up an order and the female shop assistant was very put out when we requested help to get it to the car. A trolley was pushed at us and she left, telling us to return it when we were done as she walked away. Basic manners are not that hard. As for the new store - it looks unfinished, is poorly lit and ventilated and I really question why they moved at all. Freedom furniture isn't that cheap or of such good quality that I have to put up with their attitude every time I walk in the door. Will be taking my business elsewhere.

I phoned to check on our rug 4 times, each time being told to wait and it would be processed but they were unable to track my item and that it would get here when it gets here. 6 weeks passed and still I was told they did not know when it would get in. When I asked who would know I was told there was absolutely no way of tracking it and no one I could speak with. I soon rang head office to be told that my order had been couriered to Kotara back in May and that it would be at the store. When I phoned back I was told no and who did I ring, 'Freedom Head Office' I replied, they then asked me for the phone number of their head office. The Kotara store manger phoned me back to say that 'We don't have it but never mind we have ordered another one' hurrying me off the phone with her tone. When I asked how long I would be waiting she replied, 'hmm I am not sure as we cannot track rug orders but when they had enough stock due to be sent to Newcastle I would receive it. When I asked for it to be express posted I was told 'Well this is the first I have heard of your lost order'. I informed her that of my 4 phone calls I had personally spoken with her once and that their homewares department had double checked with her every other time I had phoned. I am normally a patient person and I rarely write reviews but I am very disappointed at the lack of customer service when this has clearly been a mistake on their end and I have received no apology and treated as if they were doing me a favour ordering me a new rug but that I would have be patient and wait most likely another 6 weeks.

And, in doing so they managed to put a whole in the bottom as well. The bolts that held the desk together come out and let gaping holes. I had to buy a new desk and was thinking of going to have a look at IKEA. I came across Ideal Furniture about a week after they had opened and I though I'd have a look around but I wouldn't buy anything. Famous last words. My son was with me and he found a desk that was just right for me, he also found a lovely chair. I had been using a spare dining room chair but he said I should really get an office chair. $900 later I had got a chair, desk and small filing cabinet and the delivery was to be two days later. The delivery was on time, the two young men put the desk, which had come in two pieces together and connected the parts of my chair and showed me how to use it (the hydraulics not the sitting bit, I already new that!). They took all the packaging with them and bought in their own dustpan so they could clean up any sawdust. I nearly fainted when I saw that. I'm writing this review on my laptop which is on the desk in my comfortable chair. A very satisfactory outcome.

Suffice to say it's a little slice of home heaven that got me giddy the moment I walked past on the Queen's Birthday public holiday. I made a mental note to return and earned more motivation upon learning they had 30% off Kip&Co this week. The stock is carefully curated and there's not great quantities of everything. To me, this is part of the charm and wonder of a store that stocks such niche Australian brands. The staff are as warm as the pops of neon colours across the ranges and were only too happy to put a few towels on hold for me til I could make it back to the store. They do sell online as well but why would you when you can grab a coffee from Glee Roasters and stroll down to the physical store and play in a world of homewares heaven?
