Really enjoyed our dinner here! Glad we stopped in to check it out. Service was great, atmosphere was really nice too. We were out with a friend of ours so we split a couple rolls for an app, had some cocktails and I enjoyed my Shrimp Hibachi! Yum yum sauce was really good too!!! Overall, Very tasty!

The Homemade Factory has had a good start since they've opened in middletown this past year. It has become a solid option for foods like ramen and sushi. They have a great selection of rolls! The restaurant itself is very neat and clean. The pros: I love their rolls. The pictures I've taken speak for themselves, they are almost too beautiful to eat! We recently got the Monster roll and it was delicious! The Hana lychee sake was so tasty as well, very light and fruity. The staff is friendly, tables clean. The cons: as you can see in some of the pictures, the dish ware has various dings and chips. I would expect a restaurant to not serve meals in dishes that have cracked not simply for aesthetic reasons but because it is unsafe. Ceramic fragments can be sharp and cause damage to intestines, mouth or esophagus if ingested. I would recommend the staff inspect their plates/bowls and remove those that are damaged before serving. The ramen was decent, but unfortunately not as good as places like Santouka/Hokkaido Ramen in Boston. The broth is just not the same and there really isn't enough meat. But for middletown, I would say it's solid. The mochi ice cream was a pass for me, you can get a six pack from trader joes in all kinds of flavors for like 4 bucks. The verdict from me: The Homemade Factory has lots of great potential for a new restaurant in middletown. I enjoy what they have to offer, and among all the food options in middletown, I think they stand out!

Great lunch deals making for some very affordable sushi! Always fresh and tasty and service is kind and efficient! Definitely would recommend for sushi lovers on aquidneck!

Came by after reading so many reviews. Food DOES NOT dissapoint. Ordered the bento steak lunch. This was a good way to sample sushi, gyoza, miso soup and their entree. OMG!!You will leave full..More than enough steak for 2 people (but then I'm not a big eater) so for memthe steak was a good portion for the money. The sauce for the strak--spot on. Place is calm (if you're on who needs a quiet atmosphere). Ample parking behind the bagel shop. Will come again. The service is attentive without being overbearing.

I am in town for the Navy Surface Warfare training at the Naval base and craving for sushi . I did an online search and stopping by for a quick to go order . I ordered a Big Eye Dinner that comes with 12 pieces of sashimi and 8 pieces of Nigrori. The 15 pieces of sashimi was very fresh and it futures yellow tails , salmon , fatty tuna and white fish . I am so happy that I found this restaurant and will be back tomorrow again .

So far so good. I've stopped in twice and the first time thought it was amazing, the second not as amazing as the first but still good. The chicken ramen with purple sweet potato noodles was great. I also really liked the sweet potato roll. The menu is big with lots to choose from and the service was good.

Was in the area visiting friends and we stopped here for lunch. We got a combination of sushi, nigiri, & ramen. Everything was delicious & the fish was fresh. Presentation was also beautiful as well as the atmosphere. Service was fast and attentive. If I didn't live 6 hours away, this would definitely be a regular spot for me.

Good Green tea. Salty miso soup but good. Ambiance clean, uses nice stoneware. Service was good but it was slow.

My new favorite sushi restaurant in Newport. Extremely fresh fish and a great variety. Tim and Jackie are outstanding. Tell them what you want and if they don't have it on the menu, they might still find a way to make it for you. The only disappointment was the "BBQ Baby Broccoli" which was deep fried instead of grilled and way too salty. All of the nigiri were fantastic.

For drinks I got a refresher ~ refresher wasn't too outstanding but it helped with my spicy ramen~ my ramen so was savory and flavorful~ tasty, wasn't fatty or too oily. It had just good flavors that weren't too heavy but definitely filling and satisfying. My partners ramen was also very flavorful and tasty without the typical fatty, oily, tastes I usually get. We asked the server for the check since we need to leave soon after to make it on time for an event, and she gave us the check, and some to-go containers in case we needed it, which was very considerate! The appetizer were solid, good, but you MUST try the ramen. Spicy ramen was worth it if you need a good hangover soup or super chilly, or just want to sweat~ the egg and corn pieces were such soothing ingredients ~ Will be back for sure, even if the drive and parking is a hassle. Street parking is the way to go, and be ready for a walk~

I've seen the place before on yelp with good reviews and wanted to try for a while but since i don't go to newport often we decided to give it a try since we were in the area. It's a ramen shop in busy newport touristic area by the port. It's located inside the plaza and has parkings as well. Its was busy time of the week so the parking was full so we ended up finding a street parking a but far and walked over. Since its was nice out they had outside patio seatings as well but it was busy so we sat inside. Inside is decent size and has multiple seatings and tables that accommodates medium size groups. They seem to also have their own ramen noodle making area where the worker is hand making noodles and you can see them through the glass. We sat down and looked at the menu. They offer variety of drinks including bubble tea, alcoholic drinks and refresher as well with some interesting flavors. There are some appetizers and ramen noodle options. We tried the gochujang chicken bao bun, and spicy chili dumplings as appetizers.i tried their hong kong bubble tea and got the tonkotsu ramen. Gochujang chicken bao bun was tasty. Nice and fluffy bun and flavorful fried chicken paired well. I was expecting more or gochujang flavor but it actually tasted more like buffalo or hot chicken. Spicy chili dumplings were okay. Hong kong tea had good tea flavor and boba was chewy and sweet. The tonkotsu ramen was quite good. Flavorful pork broth paired well with garlic oil. Noodles were firm and thin as they seemed to be hand made. Chasu was fatty and flavorful. Egg was good but could use a bit more flavor if they were be marinated and should be a bit more yolky for ramen eggs. Overall a solid ramen. Service was good and the waitress was attentive. When i mentioned that i had to leave in a timely manner as we were going to be on a sunset cruise she brought the check right away with some bag and bowls to take the leftover home which was thoughtful. Overall we had a great experience at the restaurant and i was quite impressed by their ramen especially considering the options available in RI. Service was good and was not too busy despite being touristic area. This may be one of top spot for ramen in RI currently.

We began with spring rolls (VERY good - chicken and shrimp) and sake, and the sake program deserves special mention. We selected a very enjoyable $38 bottle and noticed several other bottles at lower price points, along with a wide selection of canned sake--many around $11. Some diners may balk at paying that much for a can, but they will happily pay more for a mediocre glass of wine at half the volume. The value here is actually quite good, especially for those looking to explore sake beyond the ordinary. Our entrées--the ramen and chicken katsu--were excellent. The ramen featured a rich, deeply satisfying broth, while the chicken katsu was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within. If you want a "hotter " ramen - the have an add on for a buck. Service was warm and attentive, reflecting the pride that often comes with a family-owned business. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, allowing the quality of the food to take center stage. Bristol is fortunate to have Sakuratani. Strong Japanese dining options can be hard to find outside larger cities, and for a restaurant only a year old, they seem to be doing many things right. We look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu--and their sake offerings. Highly recommended.

Very silky, some crunch, and the dashi sauce was well balanced. We then ordered tonkotsu ramen as our entree, and let me tell you I was not disappointed. After trying numerous ramens, specifically tonkotsu, this rated 2nd under my first favorite place. The creamy, rich broth was balanced, the noodles were bouncy (maybe homemade?), and the toppings were all good! Personally I am not a fan of thick pieces of pork chashu, so just keep that in mind when ordering that meat topping. Otherwise, excellent! Service: it was pretty slow so we got in immediately. Our waiter was very nice and took care of our table promptly. Atmosphere: it's definitely darker in this place, but the atmosphere was cozy and the booths were nice! Overall for me this was a 4.7/5, I would definitely recommend going here and experiencing decent tonkotsu ramen!

I just came here a couple of days ago for a Yelp event (please check that review for my thoughts on…read morethe pork bun and Sapporo-style ramen on their menu). I liked it so much that I decided to come back and dragged my co-worker with me. The interior is sort of a long narrow-ish setup, with seating on one side, and the ordering counter on the other side. Edison-style bulbs lined the area, providing a warm, orange-ish light. Cozy. You walk up to the counter and order. They'll give you a number and bring your order to your table. I ordered the blackened tuna bun and O.G. Miso ramen (with an addition of pork and egg), with a Yuki Tora sake. The tuna bun was tasty. I believe the tuna was aburi torched, and it was topped with carrots, scallions, wakame, and sesame seeds. It also had eel sauce and wasabi, which created a great flavor combination between the piercing spice of wasabi and the sweetness of eel sauce. The O.G. Miso ramen used a miso broth, with carrots, cabbage, shiitake, topped with scallions, sesame seeds, and a piece of nori. And of course, I added pork and an egg to it. I love shiitake in my ramen broth, as it adds a bit of savoriness, and also provides a bit of meaty texture. The miso flavor in this broth is much more prominent compared to the Sapporo-style ramen, however, I found Sapporo-style broth much more complex and balanced. I think what I was missing in this would be a drizzle of sesame oil. I also got a Yuki Tora nigori sake with my meal, which I found I loved from the Yelp event a couple of days ago. One with the meal, and another one as just dessert after the meal. Also convinced my co-worker to try it, and he also liked it. This place is definitely worth the visit. In general, you won't find ramen this good unless you're willing to go into the city and pay as much for an hour's worth of parking as your meal costs.

The vibe was very laid back on a 2-3ish afternoon. Parking was street parking, but I believe there's public parking around the corner. The restaurant is pretty spacious. You order first and then sit with a number and the server comes with the food/drinks. The tablet does ask for a tip before you even get served. As my personal rule, I never tip before finishing my meal. I ordered the house ramen and a mapo mushroom omusubi. I like how the ramen uses local veggies. The pork was fine, but I didn't like its somewhat dry texture. The broth was a bit too strong and/or salty for my liking, but I don't hold that against it--it reminds me of ramen I've had in Japan, which is a positive if you're looking for something more authentic. (However, I am finding that a lot of ramen just isn't for me!) I got the mapo mushroom onigiri for takeout. I liked it! It's a little spicy and quite flavorful, pairing with the rice well. All-in-all it was a very laidback experience and I would want coming back here again if I'm in the area.

The server said there was really only one option on the menu for vegetarians which is what I ordered. The food is served luke warm and for $15 I'm pretty sure I could have made this same dish at home for much cheaper and probably better. It has a spicy chili oil on the side that you mix in along with the pickled radish which was more salty than pickled tasting. One bunch of noodles wasn't properly cooked and clumped at a section. I consider myself pretty good eating with chopsticks and the slippery noodles proved to be quite difficult to eat. Not a good option if you're on a date and maybe concerned with how you will look eating this dish. Probably the saving grace of the dish was the mushrooms which allowed me to give this place 3 stars. I will not be back to this restaurant. I only ordered a hot water with a lemon for a drink. No lemon was given, only a chipped little cup (pictured), and the restaurant was freezing. I kept my coat on the entire time. The menu is really tiny. I suggest looking at the menu before going and really making sure there is something you want to try before going. Rookie mistake made on my end!
