The Hotel Maison is very much a boutique hotel. Very modern and clean. We stayed here in Yakima after seeing DMB at The Gorge. The good was that it was clean and very comfortable. The only real negative for the room was that the shower didn't have great pressure, and it squirted all over the floor because of the design of the shower. The only negative for the hotel for me was the group of people without masks in the lobby in the morning. State mandate is masks required indoors for everyone regardless of vaccination status. That was really disappointing that it wasn't enforced because these people seemed to be a part of a wedding that was occurring on site. I'm safe, because I'm masked but it's disappointing to see that the hotel doesn't enforce the requirement. Which makes me wonder if it is as safe as they suggest. Just a thought y'all. Overall, I'd definitely stay again next year after The Gorge! read more

Pretty poor experience at this hotel. It was capped off by trying to use the fitness center at 5am, when it was supposed to be open. My key didn't work, so I went to the front desk. The woman at the desk chastised me, telling me it doesn't open until 5am. I informed her the sign and hotel guide says 5am, and I only have an hour to workout. She says the sign is about to be updated in a very annoyed tone. How the heck would I know that? She finally reluctantly agreed to let me enter while telling me "the sign will be changed soon." Well, future me isn't here. Present me is, and I want to use the services as advertised. I will not be staying at this hotel again. Poor experience, especially given I'm a Diamond member. We used to always use this hotel before it was bought by Hilton, when we came into town to see family. The quality has dropped by a long shot since Hilton purchased them but after several personal travel experiences with Hilton properties around the world, I am not surprised. There was a huge tear in the bottom sheet on one of the beds in our room, the coffee maker was broken and none of the shampoos/body washes or conditioners were re-stocked in our room when we checked in. While the staff did comp our $10 parking and a $2 water bottle (which they are now charging for in room) we still walked away with a bad taste in our mouths. We have stayed in the lower priced Comfort Inn in Yakima and while it's a lower star property it includes fairly good breakfast buffets, has pool and hot tub facilities and free parking on site. The breakfast at Hotel Maison is $12 per person for a really minimal and unappetizing spread. The prices of this hotel just simply do not justify the quality. read more

First off, the staff was wonderful. They were kind and responsive and I frankly hate to have to write this, but I wish it was out there for me to read ahead of time. In town for business, I decided to look for a nice place to stay and pay a little extra. Online, The Maison looked great. Check in was good and I liked that they had a garage as well as breakfast brought to the room. That's where the positive stuff ended. I got out of the elevator and was brought back to my childhood. Not the good part, it smelled like my grandpas apartment in the mid 90's when we cleaned it out after he died. The smell was impossible to ignore. Then in getting to the room, which looked really nice online, I was overcome by the feeling I was in a back office building awaiting a negative performance review from my boss. It had such a weird feel to it. Come to find out, the building used to be an office building, so this kind of made sense. Bottom line, the whole time I felt like I was being stored somewhere, which I know is technically true. Here's the bad part. I'm an asthmatic and after the first night I felt a little funny, but night two, I legitimately could not breath unless I pulled the sheets over my mouth and nose. The air quality was so bad I did not sleep at all. On top of that, the "blackout curtains" did not even close to black out the sun so it looked like there was an eclipse on my window at 5am. This hotel tries to position itself as something it isn't, a high class "treat yourself stay." It's a cash grab by some wealthy family who owns the building. Again, the staff was wonderful and deserve to be commended, or better yet, hired by a place who actually cares about the services it provides. Not a place that sells luxury and delivery garbage. I guarantee if they have not cleaned the air ducts in that place in a VERY long time. This isn't just negligent, it's dangerous. People like me can have very bad episodes. I've only had to use a rescue inhaler 4-5x in my life, just existing in that room caused me to use mine. Edit: I left a day early and felt better immediately after leaving, but it was a week and I think it was a cold made worse by the hotels environment. Just stay away. It's the most expensive hotel I found and the holiday inn was infinitely nicer. I raised a star, but I've got a big problem with how them position themselves and the service they provided. read more

This seems like it is probably the nicest place in town, from what little I can see. You do pay a little bit more here, but the place is nice enough that it is worth it. It has the appeal of historic construction with thoroughly modernized interior, and it's run very well. There's no one thing that makes it stand head and shoulders above all the rest, but it's really fun to stay here. It's right in the heart of town, which makes it a popular choice for people attending Fresh Hop (just down the street). There's plenty of parking underneath, accessible through the courtyard (which makes the courtyard not so scenic, but that's alright). Inside, there's a tasteful lobby in muted earth tones, with a small front desk--many of the spaces in the building are smaller than we're used to these days, since it was built in 1911. The staff are friendly, nice, and capable of answering all questions. You even get vouchers for a couple beers when you check in--they have kegs from Bale Breaker, the exceptionally good Yakima brewery. Upstairs, everything is nicely finished, but there's very little art anywhere. It seems almost undecorated, which is either kind of nice or might seem unfinished, depending on your point of view. I liked it. The suite rooms are spacious; there's a living room, great big bathroom, and roomy bedroom. Two TVs, plenty of room for luggage. Not too many rooms in downtown Yak have a view of much, but the windows let in plenty of light. The beds and bedding are super comfortable. Same goes for the couch; all the furniture is nice. The bathrooms are modern and clean and bright, with huge showers and overhead showerheads. There's no room service, and didn't seem to be any bar or restaurant. They do have a kitchen with big complimentary breakfast if you make it downstairs before 9. They also offer chocolates, pretzels, and some really nicely-chosen Yakima wines in lieu of room service, which is kinda cool, provided you've eaten. In the end, it's pretty tough to imagine staying elsewhere when you're in town. You're supporting local business, and you're getting everything you could want from a place to crash. There are doubtless places nearby with pools and room service and such, if desired. But I'm sticking with the Maison. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!! This is the worst motel I've stayed at by far. They screwed up my reservation. I paid for two nights, but only showed one night in their system. They charges me a fee for early check for a previously arranged late check in. Customer service is horrible and they refused to honor the reservation and they didn't give me my money back. read more

Tried to give them a break by simply putting my complaint on their "Contact Me" button but their drop down menu bars did not drop down far enough so I could include the city and state as the subject. So here I am on Yelp and hope they some how get a copy. Positive Feedback ONLY as there was no NEGATIVE FEEDBACK option in the drop down menu on the hotel website. I searched for "How to Complain" and again, "Zero Finds" Stayed there in Yakima at the Hilton Maison and there was nothing A-Maison-ing about the stay. A). First stop at the reception desk took waaaaay too long to check me in. As if I was the first guest to ever check in. B). No USB anywhere to be found in the entire room. C). No Shower Gel D). No Q-Tips E). No Extra anything. F). No Shoe Shine G). Bed Sheets and pillow covers get FIRST PRIZE for the LIMPEST saddest bed sheets and linen on earth. H). Shower Heads need replacing due to hard Yakima Water most all holes working at 20% of value. I). The two little water bottles in the fridge are the #1 lowest rated bottled water on the face of the earth. J). Traffic noise kept me awake most of the night, might need an extra window exterior pane to make sleeping possible. K). Carpets were dark brown and one could see that they were very very old. L). Very old lamps bedside with very poor coverage, dim as hell!!! M). Dowdy bed covers and lamp shades one would expect 50 years ago. This was a super blah experience, with the exception of a complimentary glass of wine when we checked in. For one, they charge for PARKING. There is nothing about this town that is bustling and yet you have to pay for parking? They should have paid us just for the inconvenience of getting to the remote parking situation. The rooms are not pleasant. There is one narrow prison-like window that anyone under 5'2" can't even look out. They don't open, and the shade that covers them doesn't fit the window so light is constantly streaming thru (be sure to pack an eye mask because, yes, even at night there is light streaming thru). If you are even slightly sensitive about bright lights while sleeping, you will not get a wink of sleep here. The rooms are also hot (a/c isn't allowed below 70 degrees) and the shower is awkward. In order to turn the shower on you have to walk in and get blasted with cold water. But given how hot the rooms are, a blast of cold water isn't terrible. The "breakfast" is straight up gross. The hard boiled eggs were green and barf inducing, literally. The coffee was burnt. The pastries were at least a week old. AND! They only serve "breakfast" from 7-9am. There aren't a lot of breakfast options nearby. Definitely staying at Oxford Suites or the next door Hilton when we are in town again because the only redeemable thing about this place is the one complimentary glass of wine. I always enjoy boutique hotels, which is why we chose The Hotel Maison for our stay this weekend. I am giving the experience a four out of five due to the professional setting, helpful staff, their COVID response and what I believe makes or breaks a hotel... the bed! The bed was soft, the pillows not too hard and the comforter was actually thick and wonderful! So often hotel comforters are so light and I spend the whole night shivering, but not at Hotel Maison. The two bummers were that we had to pay to park and that their boxed breakfasts were somewhat meager. But I would most definitely return, hopefully once COVID is under control and we can try their normal breakfast! read more

Meh for the price it's not too accommodating. We thought housekeeping was part of someone's stay at any hotel. We came back around 5:30 pm from our day and no one had come by. When we asked they said it's because you didn't ask for it. Why then did you wait until an hour AN HOUR after we checked in the day prior and AFTER we got comfortable and settled in our room to call and say maintenance needs to come by and install a panic button in our room for the maid. If you would had said by the way for which you first have to ask for in order to get any service? we have been to better places. We will stick to much better more accommodating places next time. Now Ill have to start asking what services are included in these fees. Ya got a 2 for your parking garage because it echoed when we talked so yelling out "we are Spartans" was kind of fun. read more

I rate this a 4.5--- So, I had to "round-down." Stayed here two nights for a weekend getaway to explore Yakima valley wine country with friends. Here's why the hotel is great: A. The wine at check-in and the hospitality of the folks who work there. It appears that some of them have worked there for a while- so I sensed that there is some employee family connections or long term employee loyalty. B. This is a cute boutique hotel in downtown trying to serve as an "anchor business" for the community. C. The continental breakfast was great. The muesli was wonderfully memorable and the options for a continental breakfast were diverse. [I read about the "spacing" of the breakfast table lay-out on a prior review-- I agree that the serving area was a little compact, but that adds to the great character of place-- it reminded me of small independent European hotels AND it also kept me from over-indulging on a continental breakfast.] D. For what I expected, the new equipment in the work-out room surprised me. E. The artwork in the stairwell. Yes- the art work in the stairwell was unique, interesting, and delightful-- indicative of the former luxury level that defined the hotel many decades prior to today. F. It was clean and the bed was soft. Here's why it missed-out on a 5-star rating and advise for future guests: A. Room Lay-out: The space in the room was very generous- it's an old building with a big rooms and wide hallways. However, the room lay-out in our corner room was a little odd- kind of like an "L-shape" with the bathroom creating an odd hallway between the closet and the bed. B. The parking situation: You have to check-in first before parking and the parking garage is narrow. I wouldn't want to drive a big, wide SUV down there. It's a bit of a walk from the parking garage to the hotel elevator- so take your bags into the hotel when you're parked on the street rather than move your bags to/from the garage. C. When you stay- ask to stay away from the Yakima Ave side. There are cars that like to share their music with the street and nearby buildings at midnight on a Saturday night. I guess I'm too old now- I want to get to sleep before midnight...... We will return to the hotel next time we visit Yakima. This hotel is like the whole of Yakima- proud of its past and feeling-out how to modernize itself to best serve future customers. read more

This hotel is located on a Main Street in downtown Yakima close to several nice places to eat. The building is a renovated historic property with tons of charm. They provide off street parking in the lower level for a daily fee and the building as a whole seems quite secure. My room was typical, clean, large TV, nice bathroom. With older building you sometimes don't get the window view you would like and my one window was placed rather high and "painted shut," but the ceilings are nice and high too.The shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion smell good with modern containers. The towels and linens were white and soft. Hotel Maison's staff was very friendly and helpful. Each guest receives a complementary glass of their finest wine at check in, and is catered to nicely. The hotel provided a breakfast consisting of cold-cut meats and cheeses with hard boiled eggs. There were also multiple breads, bagels, and muffins to choose from, along with fruit. The coffee was hot and served all day. In the main lounge there were several iced water with delicious fruits and flavors. A small variety of wine is also displayed for sale at the front desk. All in all I was delighted with this hotel. read more

Stayed here with a friend on a little "girlfriends trip" where we went to a concert nearby. This hotel is very modern and chic, with clean and comfy rooms. We slept very well and enjoyed our stay. Another added bonus is the complimentary breakfast spread. We had an assortment of pastries, breads, meats and cheeses, as well as yogurt, fruit and beverages. If in this area again, I'd definitely consider staying here again. The front desk staff was also friendly and helpful when answering questions. read more

Stayed here for 2 nights while in town for a conference. It's very nice, and a welcome alternative to the big chain hotels in town. Nicely renovated historic building. Room was fairly spacious, but kind of dark, as there is only one window. Wi-Fi is spotty from the rooms. They have a continental breakfast in the mornings, and tea and coffee available in the lobby all day, which was a nice touch. Very comfy bed and pillows. Nice, big shower, but could have used a little more water pressure. Walking distance to a couple of good restaurants. Would definitely stay here again. read more

It's rare when I travel for work that I get to stay in a boutique hotel, so when it's convenient and not too overpriced I snag the chance like I did with this property. I enjoyed not having the same ol' like ya do in the big name hotels that we all know. My bed was quite comfy. I also liked having the heater fan not coming from a wall unit like so many places have that wake you up throughout the night. And, having continental breakfast with some muesli and charcuterie was a lovely break from the waffle machine and reconstituted eggs. But there are some design flaws that are noticeably needing attention. The most annoying was the shower in my room. Better get totally naked first and be ready to be doused in cold water since you can only access the knob to turn it on by stepping fully inside. And! hello, how did this pass ADA muster without a grab bar? Other minor things...the aforementioned breakfast bar is hard to maneuver as everything is crammed on the counters and you need a third hand to keep lids open, hold your plate, and use the tongs. Last...please stop with the scented air! Fortunately it wasn't as strong in my room but I had to dash out of the lobby area and when coming and going because it was so overwhelming. read more

Quaint hotel with a "bait and switch" tactic. Lobby and public areas very enticing and inviting. Rooms, not so much. Big with nice but bare furnishings. Beware of "corner" rooms - not worth the price. Windows are odd with very little airy feel. We stayed in 301, windows were at armpit height for me. Could not see anything but sky or ugly building when sitting. Upgrade suites were roomy (viewed one after seeing our room) but 2 small creepy windows. We shortened our stay from 4 nights to 1 and stayed elsewhere for the remainder of our time in Yakima. Btw - the luggage cart had a flat tire, bring your bicycle pump. Morning arrived with the soothing sound of traffic. Our friends room at a hotel 2 blocks away was just as nice and cost significantly less. In summary the hotel appears nice, and kind of is, complimentary glass of wine is a nice touch, but the rooms are nowhere near worth the price you pay. read more

Loved the boutique style of this new hotel. It was clean with an attention to detail. The staff was so friendly and helpful as well as a nice little continental breakfast. Great coffee and pastries. The only gluten free option was rice crispies, but I made due with fruit. Then on our way out to the state basketball games at the sun dome, we had 1 more gentleman kindly ask us if our stay was nice and if we needed anything else. Very close to the dome as well. One of the nicer hotels in Yakima, which has some sketchy hotels in the downtown area. However this boutique hotel is one of the least accommodating hotels I've ever stayed at. I arrived from a very long travel day. My room was ready but they wanted $40 to check in early an hour early. The next day I asked for water at the front desk, and they wanted to charge me for it. Such a petty ask, and refusal. Dropping a lot of money for a 2 night stay and they can't give me a fifty-cent bottled water. Sad. I travel for a living and often stay at boutique hotels because they are usually accommodating. Finally, my room was dark and uninspiring. On the plus side, one of the owners greeted me at breakfast and sincerely asked about the my stay -- good and bad. She was an exceptionally nice lady. I want to recommend this hotel, but I simply cannot. read more

Seems like a fancy great hotel and only the lobby really is. We stayed in the nicest room they have and it wasn't that great. We've stayed in many hotels for comparison. It was a corner King Suite and right outside the elevator! Very small windows and could hear the traffic all morning. Our bed was the best part. If you are going to have a high end suite you should have a decent shower head in the shower and an actual door on it, or have a bathtub. It seems as though they remodeled this hotel and cut corners in certain areas and then want to charge a lot for it. And this may seem petty but they use the cheapest form of toilet paper and Kleenex they could possibly buy. Was like sandpaper. People really notice the small things! read more

DONT STAY!! It made me do a star, I wouldn't even give them a half of one. Wasn't even very nice, they should have kept the mall. My husband and I stayed here for one night and will never stay again! We got charged twice for our room. We were told every hotel charges when you get there and again when you leave and that you will get the first charge back. We were also told it was stated on the website, it was not. We got charged almost $400 from our debit card during CHRISTMAS time. $400 damn dollars. We need this money to get home and get out of this aweful town. We are a military family and have stayed in numerous hotels in the US and overseas and have NEVER been charged twice, even though she stated time and time again every hotel does this. BULL $HIT!! You have to pay for parking in the underground parking when we checked out and tried to leave, the gate got stuck for an hr. They finally pulled the metal garage door off the hindges. The emergency latch wouldn't even work, which is pretty bad. It was cold and wasn't something we wanted to do on Christmas Eve. I will never stay here again or recommend this Hotel to anyone. I would rather stay at Motel six, who does not charge twice. The funny thing is, is when I asked to speak to a manager, I was told I was. I was surprised! read more

My husband booked us a room for two nights recently. We were out exploring while our kids were away at camp and he wanted us to really enjoy ourselves and feel spoiled. Hotel Maison did not disappoint! Lovely room, friendly, helpful staff and a fantastic breakfast buffet. We were even more surprised when we were given free vouchers for a "made to order" breakfast at the hotel next door. A mani pedi at Ummelina next door helped me feel especially luxurious. All in all, a delightful if brief vacation for two over worked parents! We are looking forward to going back soon! read more
