The staff and service are outstanding. The bar is creative and it's a huge plus to have a decent wine list and well crafted cocktails. The ambiance is wonderful. I really think they could use a menu rework or something. The flat bread was very good but the pot stickers were completely overcooked. I have had the zucchini noodles with meatballs on another occasion and as someone mentioned the meatballs weee under seasoned. The thing is there is so much else going for this place that they don't need to try very hard on the food side. I love coming here and will just be more selective in ordering. read more

First, having a parking lot for customers in Summit is an obvious plus. This restaurant is part of the Harvest Group and it does not disappoint in food and drink options. I love that they have a creative mocktail menu and craft sodas made in house. Their flatbread appetizers and burger entree are must try on their menu. read more

Very friendly wait staff, which included a young waitress who seemed to be fairly new; she tried her best, and was quite pleasant. Others on staff were equally pleasant. The same can't be said for the schmuck of a manager (some jerk wearing a jacket and a sour expression) who berated that young woman for giving the wrong plate to a customer -- that was me, and I didn't mind it at all. That jerk should have concerned himself with the food: my fries were almost cold, my chicken sandwich equally so. I wasn't impressed at all, and I would not go back on the off chance I would have to deal with that idiot wearing a jacket who mistreated a waitress for a minor mistake. read more

Went here for the first time ,great place, nice environment. I like the tavern style decor. The service was excellent from when I checked in until I left. The waitress was great and gave us some good recommendations from the drinks to the food. The food was delicious, The burrata was our starter and didn't disappoint. My $29 French Dip was good but missing half the serving for the price. The chicken sandwich was dry and flavorless. Came with an equally boring salad. Dessert was good but overpriced for what they serve you. The Manhattan I was first served was just bourbon and a flavorless cherry. The second one was better. Margarita was meh. I have always loved this place and still do. Most recent visit was for a brunch with the girls. And as usual, the food, the service nothing disappointed. We sat on the porch, which is my favorite place to sit in the more months. Delicious cocktails and I had the lobster roll, which was awesome. Our Second visit to the Huntley Tavern and again it was a good experience. Seated during peak Saturday lunch time, the restaurant was packed. I mention that for perspective on the challenges of serving and feeding multible tables at the same time. The Sesame Crusted Chicken Potstickers were a little bland but the Chili crisp & yuzu ponzu sauce was very good. My Crispy Chicken Sandwich was good and my only critique would be the fries were not hot like they were the first time we eat here. The Marinated Chicken Panini was good but the Mozzarella was not melted and the Baguette was too thick and bready. A ciabatta or focaccia bread with the same ingredients would have made this a staple on future visits. Look forward to eating at the Huntley Tavern again when we are in Summit NJ read more

The food and service here are consistently good for business lunch meetings and meeting up with friends in the area. Great menu, attentive staff and the food is all on point. I've had several dishes here, most recently the street noodles with tempura shrimp - really good and their butternut squash soup - really good as well and satisfying on a nice Autumn day. Nice restaurant that had both a modern and historic setting and a nice bar. Recently came here with a large group and service was great. I had a bourbon smash cocktail, very tasty! They also have a lot of wine and cocktail options, as well as draft beer from their sister restaurant Trap Rock. Our table shared flatbreads, which were flavorful and a great app! I had the tavern salad which was great with a very light, but tasteful dressing with balsamic. Tasted the mushroom flatbread which was good. Others were pleased with their brunch selections (we were there on a Sunday) which included croque madam, and what looked like chicken with waffles. Ample parking around the restaurant. The service was accommodating and friendly. Great place for a holiday or special occasion, or just a nice meal out. Has an "old inn" type of atmosphere. I recently returned to The Huntley Taverne for a family birthday dinner. The restaurant was selected because of its updated, seasonal menu items that all sounded incredible. The dining hub was located in a large, free-standing home with multiple rooms including a loft, a main dining room, a bar, and an enclosed patio. Each section was cozy and festively decorated, providing a welcoming vibe. On this trip, we were seated in the upper loft, next to a fireplace. Despite neighboring a heat source, we were also next to a few windows that were extremely drafty, so I had to keep my coat on throughout the meal. Our server was patient while we got settled in our booth and weighed our order options, but aside from that, was just decent. We began our experience with some beverages from their list that encompassed seasonal cocktails, wines, and beers from Trap Rock, a brewpub in the same restaurant group. I had been intrigued by the Pumpkin Spice Mule, but found it very sweet tasting. It seemed like the ginger beer they had utilized was too sugary. In terms of food, the options were vast, so we thought it would be wise to share some starters and then focus on our own main dishes, in order to make the most of our experience. While I did not love having to pay for a bread basket, the honey-buttered, Just-Baked Parker House Rolls sounded too delicious to resist. Unfortunately, we all found them super sweet and not really Parker House Rolls, which are typically served in a skillet. In addition, the rolls were supposed to be topped with sea salt to balance out the honey butter, but I did not have any salt on mine. The Sesame-Crusted Chicken Potstickers, however, were excellent! Each dumpling had the perfect ratio of noodle to filling, and the yuzu ponzu dipping sauce was a tangy delight. The Roasted Butternut Squash, Honeycrisp Apple, and Prosciutto Flatbread was another winner. The thin crust was topped with slices of the aforementioned items, as well as apple butter and Vermont cheddar. The addition of the crispy prosciutto provided a terrific contrast to the other sweet ingredients. After tasting these decadent appetizers, I proceeded to my Soy Ginger Glazed Salmon entrée. The wild salmon was served over jasmine rice and was topped with chili crispy kale, wasabi aioli, and fried wontons. It was cooked perfectly. I heard positive things about the filet mignon as well. Lastly, we had somehow found room for dessert, and I shared the Chocolate Cream Pie, which possessed a honey wheat pretzel crust and chocolate cream filling. It was topped with a homemade vanilla whipped cream, shaved chocolate, and local berries. The dessert was delicious, but it was served as an individual tart, rather than a slice of a larger pie. I also took a bite of the Apple Cobbler, but thought it was much more crumb than fruit; the ratio was just off. Its accompanying vanilla bean gelato was great, though. Overall, there were some plates that were better than others, but the majority of our meal was excellent, as always. I would definitely recommend checking out The Huntley Taverne for its seasonal offerings and atmosphere. read more

My husband loves the filet entree. I like the Halibut but it is inconsistent. I've ordered it twice and on New Years it was completely different without the sweet potato crust. Salmon was okay, favorite part of the dish was the kale although it wasn't crispy or crunchy just sautéed. The wasabi isn't spicy if you were wondering! Dislikes: Miso glazed mushrooms - I tried them for the first time as a recommendation from our waitress. I wish I knew these were battered and fried. It says crispy but I thought it was sautéed. I did not care for them at all, couldn't finish them. I love mushrooms but would not have ordered if I knew this was fried. I wish they provided a bread roll or cornbread with dinner. Went here this past Saturday with two other couples. Ambiance is great with a beautiful bar. We all met at the bar and had a drink before sitting down for dinner. Drinks were nice but my vodka and grapefruit tasted like there was zero vodka in it , so bartender did give me an extra pour. We were seated at a nice table on the wrap around porch area. Service was hot and miss. Sometimes attentive and sometimes nowhere to be found. For starters each couple shared a salad. We had the crispy calamari salad and it was excellent. For mains my wife had the halibut and thought it was great. Me and my buddy had the lobster and shrimp fettuccine Alfredo and we both thought it was a bit of a miss. The pancetta in it was so overcooked that it sort of ruined the dish. The rest of our group thought their meals were good but not great. I'd rate this establishment a solid 3 1/2 stars. read more

I was a little early and had a beer at the bar and was chatted up by the bar staff and that kind of set the tone for the evening. When the rest of my party arrived, we were seated at a nice table for four and I was famished so I ordered a bevy of things off the starter menu. Tar-tar, lobster bites, Spicy Shrimp rolls and steamed clams to name a few. Included in our entrees, were salmon and the scallops and a chicken one as well. By all accounts, everyone enjoyed their meal and coupled with dessert, we were quite satisfied with the entire meal. The staff was really superb and attentive. The food was unexpectedly good and the ambiance was great. The only downside is that the restaurant doesn't have high chairs. Thankfully we were notified by the hosts ahead of time. If you're going there with children be aware. I enjoyed the pork chop entree very much and would consider going back for a causal date night. read more
