As for the other clerk(s) that cashed me out the day I was there...Too many hands trying to assist gets you confusion and purchased items left behind. Then only to find out once home (In N.Y.) all the items you purchased didn't make it home with you. I honestly did not think that Island Trader would agree to send me the turtle I paid for even though it was not my fault that it didn't make it in with the rest of my purchased items. Just shopped in this store. NOT ONE CONFEDERATE FLAG. Previous reviewers were inaccurate. We have been coming to this store for years on our yearly vacations and we have not seen any racist materials, confederate flags included. Felt obligated to get on here and review after reading the previous reviews. Service was great, they leave you be to shop without bothering you. When you are ready they are pleasant to deal with. (That's not saying they didn't previously have those items for sale we have never seen them in there though.) read more

Wow! I was just about to spend money here and literally dropped my purchases next to the clerks who didn't notice. The clerk in the gray moo moo was discussing Biden & Trump. Speaking of Russian collusion etc. Can I just make purchases in peace? This is disheartening. Keep politics out of your store! read more

Went in after having dinner at "Hurricane Hanks" and my year and a half old nephew dropped his sippy cup to which this elderly woman working the store huffed and puffed about. After apologizing my family exited the store while my sister made a purchase. As my sister was walking out, the cashier turned to the elderly worker and said "she's with them so she can slip in that spill". After hearing that, my sister tried to return her purchase because of the comment the workers made and in response the worker snapped and said "nope! We don't do returns". Like, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This is how you provide customer service?! If I could give NEGATIVE five stars I would. I'd rather dig through the trash for a souvenir than buy one from here. read more

Have been going to the Island Trader for over 30 years, best prices and quality. They have cute little inexpensive gifts to bring back to the gang. You will enjoy looking around at all the different selections that have. Great bunch ladies that work there. read more
