There's no assigned bays, just get your buckets and find an empty bay and grab a California burrito in the way out. First driving range I've been to that had music playing, very family friendly environment. The music was also mainstream and kind of low in volume, so it doesn't impact your game too much if you're really trying to focus. It was extremely busy and had the overflow parking in use but still managed to find parking and a handful of empty bays at peak evening timing. They take contactless payment and cash and have nice kiosks to order food and drinks from, as well as QR code ordering to order from your bay - you still have to go grab it yourself. As for the food, the tacos were forgettable. I enjoyed the tortilla and the salsas but the meat flavor and quality were just fine. Not a taqueria but also not trying to be. The asada California burrito was great actually, paired well with the red salsa, decent size as well. A little pricier but concession food typically isn't this good, so I'll pay the price. Cajun fries were very good also. Food was out in like 5 minutes and very fresh. I'd like to return to try the breakfast burritos I've heard so much about. Great spot for some family friendly fun with a date or a couple friends! Food here is actually really good too, I personally love the al pastor burrito that comes with also good salsa too. As a returning customer, I am beyond disappointed with our experience today. We came here to enjoy some quality time during spring vacation, but the woman working the counter completely ruined the mood. When I approached her with my boys to get golf balls and asked about pricing, she didn't even bother to be helpful--she just snapped, "It's right there." Her attitude was incredibly rude and dismissive. If you don't like your job, you shouldn't be in customer service. I have a photo of the employee to identify her for management. I strongly suggest leadership addresses her behavior or provides proper training; if she treats regular customers this way, I can only imagine how she treats others. We hosted a private event here for my daughters seventh birthday and it was such a seamless and easy event to have! Hands down to Ivan who was there for us before the day of the event and during the event. We rented five stalls for 20 people and the stalls were roped off for the two hours we had the space. All the kids and adults had so much fun and enjoyed it. The food was brought out at a prearranged time and it was all so tasty. Highly recommend the Al pastor taco platter! A pleasant experience! The hubby and I visited on my birthday which is always on a national holiday. We parked in what appeared to be their overflow parking as it was a very busy afternoon for Islands Golf Center. The process kind of reminds of bowling alleys. You rent the golf clubs, pay for a bucket of golf balls to hit, and are to use any one of the open bays. There are plenty of them but it is super busy on weekends, evenings, and holidays. We found a spot. The golf balls are floatable and you pretty much hit them in the water. It's a nice environment with the view. Machines clean and collect the balls. I am an amateur, was observing others who appeared to be "golf people" and tried to do what they were doing. The hubby is a lot better at hitting the balls than me. With practice, I did ok for my first time. It was like I graduated from playing miniature golf. Speaking of mini golf, I believe there is a separate spot for mini golf here. The experience here was relaxing and enjoyable. It is a family friendly place. As you can see from my photos, there is a golf shop and food/beverages (no alcohol) available. We had lunch elsewhere prior to our visit. There are also opportunities for paid lessons. Our time here was very inexpensive, only $17 for maybe an hour- hour and a half visit. 4 stars! read more

Great golf & surprisingly great food! This is one of our favorite spots to come to in OC. Many bays to hit from. Some covered for those sunnier days. The best value for a driving range. They offer junior discount on buckets as well with a loyalty program. The food here was the biggest surprise. Their Al Pastor taco is actually one of the best ones I've had in the area. Wish they had some sort of hot dog on the menu, but they have lots of food options that come out pretty promptly, even on those busy days. I have been coming here since I was a kid. And now after many years, my daughter brought me here for my birthday. I like the fact that for years, they only had a few islands, but now they have added boats as targets and range to figure out your club distance. The only problem is this place is always so packed but I guess as business goes that means they're doing something good and people respect the business and enjoy their facility always clean always nice. Staff club rentals are three dollars apiece and nine dollars a bucket. Didn't really check out the food, but saw people with fries and other things looked good if you're just ending going to nothing other than a driving range and having interesting targets, this is your spot. read more

Absolutely love this place! We're regulars and have enjoyed every time we've been here and never been disappointed. It's a great place to practice but it's a great activity to do with a date, friends and family! Food is great, service is great, ambiance is great! The only challenge is parking cause this place is popping. The later into the evening, the busier it gets. They have loads of bays but this is such a fun place to be, it's worth the wait and struggle lol.There's lefty bays as well. Clubs are available for rent and their prices are relatively cheap compared to other ranges! Service was really good! We had reserved bays for a party and we were so satisfied with everything. Derek was the one in charge and taking care of our party and we thought he did a great job! He was very accommodating, always checking in on us, very kind. He did a great job. He made sure we had all our food right away. He was always working hard. The food was yummy too! I really suggest place if you're looking for a place to do something with friends for cheap. Years later and The Islands is still a driving range of joy. On one visit, a double cheeseburger combo ran $14.50 (+$0.50 for a Nesquik), with fries that had a nicely seasoned batter. The food is actually quite decent - much better and more reasonably priced than it needs to be. The same goes for the ball prices, which are actually pretty good for OC these days Sm: $9 for 45 balls Md: $13 for 75 balls Lg: $15 for 105 balls Come before 6pm Mon-Thu or before 1pm Fri-Sun to save a dollar or two on those costs. Bear in mind that the range balls here are designed to float, so a drive will probably carry at least 15, 20 yards less than what you'd get on the course. The skill level here is still very diverse, with a healthy crowd of clunkers. Perfect for introducing your newbie friends and they won't have those embarrassing moments standing out the way one might at a more 'proper' range if skulling the ball. Still, I've come to know plenty of golfers with respectable handicaps who enjoy coming here. Rental clubs for $3 and a pro shop with a decent selection of new and used clubs. The Islands is as clear-cut S-Tier as it gets when it comes to social golf. read more

After brunch in Irvine we did a pit stop here for driving range. There were tons of stalls but were 95% occupied on a Sunday. The costs were about $15 for large bucket, $13 for medium & $9 for small. Loved the lake set up with the islands set at various distance. I hit the 150 yd island few times with my 8 & 7 irons, totally made my day despite the blisters. Bathroom was clean, there were food & drinks, putting green at the entrance. Lots of parking spaces but may have to use the overflow lot which is just across the road. read more

Fun place to hit some golf balls in the morning. Got a small little lake with some small patches of land and boats to try to land your ball into. They got affordable rental equipment and a small outdoor dining. First comes first serve. The only reason why I gave it a 4 star is because I wish they had more small patches of land or boats on the left side of the lake. Most of it is on the right side so it's not as fun since you are mostly hitting into water with no goal. read more

Great relaxed golf center to practice your swing in the driving range. I usually come on the weekends before 10am when they have an early bird special at $11 for a large bucket of golf balls. Depending on your frequency of swings, a bucket lasts around an hour for me. There are so many bays available so you can have your own private area and they have many canopies to provide shade during hot summer days. It's cool that the driving range has multiple targets to hit for accuracy or just to drive far as you can. In addition, there are two putting greens for you to practice your miniature golf game- one with a flat surface, the other with some small dips and hills. There is plenty of parking and additional overflow parking so I've never had an issue finding a spot. read more

New obsession unlocked! This is our new favorite spot. Always busy when we come no matter the time or day. But there is plenty of parking and the etiquette of getting a spot is easy. As far as the food, I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of the food. We always get tater tots to snack. Tried there chicken pesto pizza and carne asada fries which all were excellent! Never expected a driving range would have such amazing food! I can't wait to try more! The vibes are chill, all ages are present. And not like a stuffy, prestigious attitude.
