Well it's been a long time since my last review but as things have opened back up,we are going out to lunch more often. My wife went to this restaurant a few weeks back and told me I must try their Sashimi tacos, so yesterday was the day
Honestly, I am not a huge fan of raw fish , but I was going to try wherever my wife ordered. I can tell you that this is a newer place with no Yelp reviews yet until now and I am writing this because this place is awesome!!!
We went on a Friday at 11:50 am and their was nobody else there yet for lunch besides us. I know that Mortlake is kind of off the main roads but it was obvious that the word about this place hasn't got out yet . Some tradies came in and ordered a large takeaway order but other than that, their was only one other order in the hour we were there.
The waiter was very polite and friendly . He was efficient also but with one table he should have been alright.
Okay here comes the food. Wow!! We started out with edamame with truffle salt and the before mentioned sashimi salmon tacos- both excellent. I was amazed with the edmame because the truffle salt was an ingenious addition - all edamame should be as good as these- make sure you order those .And yes the tacos were an excellent fusion of flavours that I even enjoyed. we had a local friend join us so more food was ordered. Nest was the Salt and Pepper Prawns. The Kareage Chicken also came and have a Cajun Mayo on the side it was generous and perfectly fried as well!Perfectly juicy and crispy with salt, cracked pepper and an assortment of crunchy seed sprinkled on top. My wife isn't a huge tofu fan but said the agedashi tofu was a must- she was right ! Fluffy fried pillows in a tasty broth in the bottom- yum!!!
We ended our meal with Grilled Salmon sushi rolls and Prawn Tempura sushi Rolls- pretty standard selections but very fresh and tasty
I want to go back to this place next week- we fed three people all this and it was only 85 bucks!!! Amazing food, nice place inside, and the staff did a great job! Give it a go! read more
