I stopped in to grab a bite because I opted for something healthier than McDonalds across the way. Greeted pretty promptly as I looked over the menu and decided between their Rotisserie Chicken, Flatiron Steak or their yummy looking pizzas. I really liked my server Jen. She was sweet, attentive and aware. You don't usually get great service at airport restaurants, or maybe that's just LAX? Anyway she made me feel really welcome and immediately asked if I was on a time crunch. Did I mention she was aware? She knows her customers! She came to check on me throughout my time there--not too much and not too little. What I hate is when I have a mouthful of food and they ask me how things are. She did no such thing. I originally went with the Rotisserie Chicken but they were sold out at 4p so that just shows you that item is popular. I ended up with the Flatiron Steak and was not disappointed (see photo). It was beautifully plated, well seasoned and medium rare just like I requested. Sure it was 2x more expensive as McDonalds but it was much healthier! I do wanna mention their pizzas look delicious. If I had more stomachs, I would opt to try that as well--they have a gluten free crust if that's what you need! Anyway, in a busy airport like DFW, if you have time or in Terminal D, stop in for a chill space you can work at with TVs if you wanna watch a game, have a glass of wine and perfectly-cooked steak with the best seasoned potatoes. The setting was nice, for an airport. The TV was small and hard to see from the dining area. The food was... disappointing. Everything was very salty. The calamari tasted good but had a sour aftertaste, as though they were using lemon pith along with lemon juice. I had the margarita pizza, and the crust was as dry as a bone. My husband had the pasta bolognese, and he said it was salty. I had a beer, and it was fine. I was not offered water. I know this wasn't a Wolfgang Puck flagship, but still. IF MEATBALLS COULD CRY I'm so sad for this meatball sandwich. Somewhere Wolfgang Puck is crying or laughing all the way to the bank. There is no way this iconic chef would proudly walk this sandwich to my table and tell me to enjoy it. The reality is he sells his name to the airport restaurant managing group and literally has no quality control. Money talks for sure! The Meatball Sandwich sounded great with aged provolone, pesto aioli, parmesan and house-made chips but for $17.00 it's not worth the value. I know it's an airport but the restaurant is so beautiful. They should stand up and make this meatball proud to be on a bun. Speaking about the bun..it was dry and close to being burned. It says aged provolone but I tasted zero age on the cheese. It was bland and boring like a mozzarella. Plus the meatballs were so tiny and then they cut them in half before putting them on the bun. I stopped in between flights. I ate here a couple of years ago and was a little disappointed. Well, they've redeemed themselves. I had the Gorgonzola Chopped salad which came with bacon, pepperoncini, cherry tomatoes, red onions, lemon vinaigrette. It was delicious. I also ordered the Meatballs Al Forno which was two big meatballs served with tomato sauce, grated parmesan cheese, and grilled crostini. I was strongly recommended this dish! The service was also very good and professionally performed. The restaurant itself is kind of standard fare but does have an open kitchen concept which was nice. What do I love about this airport restaurant? Ambiance is lovely a little bit busy but I enjoy the dark wood and low lighting. The bubble chandeliers are beautiful. They have a full bar. I love that I can charge my phone or plug in my computer while I eat. I ordered the chopped Gorgonzola salad and added salmon. The salad was absolutely delicious, a little bit spicy. The salmon was a little bit on the dry side. To add some class to my meal, the server ground fresh pepper over my salad. Well, I was waiting for my flight and I thought I would have something filling since I have a long day of flying. I had the Turkey Bolognese with whipped Ricotta cheese. Also a side Caesar salad. The food was as generic as the name of the restaurant. The Caesar dressing is not homemade and the croutons were probably out of a box. The turkey bolognese 'Meh' the pasta was terribly over cooked and there was a lot of liquid at the bottom of the bowl. For $19 there should have been fresh shaved Parmesan. Parmesan came in a ramekin but if you wanted more it came in a salt shaker. The highlight was the service. Domingo was very pleasant and handsome. This was a great find at DFW. The restaurant was nice. We sat at a high-top not far from the bar. The menu was streamlined, but with good options. I got the chicken club sandwich and my husband ordered the caprese sandwich. We both enjoyed our food. That said, the egg on my sandwich was hard and not over medium, but it still tasted good. And the chicken was incredibly thin, but again it all tasted great. The seasoning on the fries was on point! The service was good (and fast) and the prices were reasonable, for an airport. I didn't read any reviews. I figured 3 stars was because it is an airport restaurant, well I gave it 4 only because I was seated at a table with a dirty seat. Other than this the service was excellent and the food was very good. My waiter was super nice and even asked when my flight was before I ordered anything. My sangria was very tasty, the chicken Cesar salad seems odd at first as I didn't see any chicken, but then I realized the chicken was just cut up very small and it was full of it. I also ordered a berry with mascarpone cream which I got to go as I was very full. I ate the dessert on the airplane and all I can say is even at 30000 feet that was so so very good. I just have to say, I really enjoyed the service! Everyone was super friendly yesterday. An associate and I decided to celebrate landing the job of our dreams by dining in. Zoomed by here while in DFW to grab some lunch while they kept moving my gate around. I had the caprese sandwich and fries. I was quite pleased with the quality of both. The portion sizes were fine and the service was good. The space seems a bit small but that may have just been because of the split layout. There are more or less two sides of seating with a bench type row in the middle, or at least that's what it looked like. Compared to most restaurants in the airport this is definitely a good step up. The prices are not ridiculous, though they don't match the prices on the menu at the DFW kiosks. Someone should update that. It's deceptive. Still, comparatively decent prices. The server was good about making sure I would have enough time for my meal and checking on me periodically. All in all I'd go back if I have a bit of time at DFW and don't want to just grab something quick. read more
