I cannot recommend the Ivy Room enough. We married at our church (where we met) and held our reception at The Ivy Room. If we chose to have our ceremony at The Ivy Room, it would have been beautiful and perfectly executed as well. We worked directly with Natalie to plan our 3/4/17 wedding. She is extremely responsive and helpful and 100% our advocate. You want her on your side when planning your special day. She even went the extra mile helping tie up my dress the day-of, and she and The Ivy Room chef and staff made sure I was well fed when arriving at the Ivy Room (I was SO hungry after taking pics all day) and even remembered my favorite drink, a specialty cocktail, to have ready for me! They also had my husband's favorite drink ready for him as well and a cheese and meat platter in the private room for us. From the beginning of our reception it was clear that we were their focus. They set aside desserts for us, had appetizers ready for us during the "room reveal" and were there to make sure everything went well. One of my relatives is gluten free and dairy free and immediately after she took a seat, a waitress/head of staff was there to ensure her dietary needs were taken care of. She has never had that special treatment before at any wedding or event and very much appreciated it. I received compliments on the food MONTHS after our wedding. My friend still talks about how amazing the butternut squash truffle soup tasted!!! The lemon tart dessert - my mom can't stop talking about that still. I loved the scallop entree. Everything was fantastic. SERIOUSLY the chef is awesome. Even though it was cold for our beginning of March wedding, we were able to use the courtyard for some awesome sparkler pictures, too. Ivy Room also accommodated a flower donation to Random Acts of Flowers the Monday after our wedding. If you're thinking of getting married at the Ivy Room, think no further and just go ahead and DO IT. You won't regret it. I can't imagine having our Chicago wedding anywhere else. Hands down the best wedding venue we could have chosen for our September wedding. It is a truly magical space that gives you a perfect blend of city and garden elements. What sets the Ivy room apart is it's incredible staff members, specifically Leslie Fuller and Brittany Pflug. Firstly, Leslie was available to talk basically 24/7 and answered everyone of mine and my mom's emails/calls within an hour. No matter the time of day. Then come day of and I felt like the MOST special bride (and I was probably one of four that weekend). Not sure how they do it but they were so incredibly attentive to our needs all night and managed our group so well. The food was incredible, the venue was stunning and they were all so easy/fun to work with!! read more

MAGICAL. There is no other way to describe the Ivy Room. After pouring over dozens and dozens of venues in Chicago and the burbs online, this was only place I was interested in getting married. Visiting and seeing the place in person, and meeting Donna and Matt sealed the deal. This venue is class, class, class all the way. From the breathtaking courtyard and ballroom with french doors overlooking the courtyard, to the their outstanding vendor list, to Matt, Donna and Christy's invaluable guidance, this place is PERFECTION for the discriminating city bride who can't bear to get married in a generic banquet hall or hotel. And it's worth every penny. People can't stop talking about our wedding, and we owe a lot of that to the Ivy Room and the fantastic vendors Matt and Donna personally recommended -- Toast and Jam DJ Laura, I Do Films, Emily Johnston Anderson Photography (albeit indirectly through David Wittig --also amazing!), Cornelia McNamara Flowers, Berghoff, BCR events and Bruce Otto. Since our wedding, I actually miss this place--and am seriously hoping someone we know gets married there so I have an excuse to go back :). P.S. -- for all you Ivy Room Brides dying to get married in the gorgeous courtyard, don't be devastated if it rains. I was so looking forward to my courtyard ceremony, but it rained and we had to go to plan B -- and I couldn't be happier. Everyone bent over backwards to make the ballroom look gorgeous and the lighting by Chicago Lighting Design really made everything look great. We opened the french doors to let a little twilight light in and provide a view of the dewy courtyard, and in the end, the indoor ceremony was very intimate and special. I was looking for a downtown venue that was unique that could provide us with both the ceremony and reception. As I was doing my research I kept coming across The Ivy Room but can honestly say I bypassed it several times because the pictures just don't do it justice. My fiancee and I wanted to get married in October - before the holidays and not have to wait until next spring so we had six months to plan a wedding! Due to its ideal location and that they had a few remaining dates open, I made an appointment for my fiancee and myself. We viewed it in the early spring of this year so the ivy, the flowers and planting had not yet bloomed. Our hostess, Christy, pointed out during our walk thru that come October, the ivy would be changing into fall colors. We were hooked! Christy was invaluable in helping us plan and answering questions. If I sent a question it was usually answered within hours. She also was a great guide in helping me find my other vendors as well as decorating ideas. The location is great because it is within walking distance of so many hotels. We didn't even book rooms anywhere - our guests could pick any price point as well as use their points the hotel of their choice. With that said, we did not have to worry about transportation, i.e. limos or trolleys, one less thing to have to spend money on or worry about. We got married 10/12/12 and it was magical. We were blessed with no rain and were able to have the ceremony at dusk. All of our guests from out of town and from Chicago were blown away by the venue. It was definitely worth the money! It was part miracle, part fluke that we stumbled across The Ivy Room via a promotional email just as we were shopping for wedding venues. I had this pipe dream of getting married on a crisp, fall evening in a sort of candlelit urban garden with illuminated skyscrapers towering overhead. Afterward we would retreat to a cozy yet contemporary on-site space for a lively cocktail reception and dance party. I know--ridiculous, right? Unbelievably...our wedding was exactly that, and all because The Ivy Room just happened to be available ON THE EXACT DAY we hoped to get married. Coincidence, or fate? The space set the perfect tone for our celebration, and our guests appreciated the elegant but approachable atmosphere. We had both ceremony (held outdoors in the courtyard, with the downstairs lounge as our rain plan) and reception (in the ballroom) in the same spot and reserved hotel rooms for guests nearby. Super convenient. Yep, it's pricey, and the rental fees cover the space only. You'll still have to pay for chairs, tables, linens, even coat racks. But you get what you pay for, and to us The Ivy Room was as good as it gets. Venue and location were our two biggest priorities, so we were prepared to cut back in other areas to make it work. There was some minor bookkeeping confusion in the last few weeks--probably just hiccups during the venue's earliest events--but the staff were helpful and accommodating as we sorted it all out. With a venue this classy and sought-after the staff could easily be difficult, but Donna was an absolute pleasure, maintaining her welcoming, gracious demeanor even when we barged in with our visiting parents (hours before another couple's wedding!) so we could show off the space. A fairytale setting for an authentic Chicago celebration. Forget blushing--this former bride is still beaming. read more

Hands down, the best place to have a wedding in the city. Not only is the Ivy Room a beautiful, contemporary space, but the Executive Director of the venue, Donna, made sure every aspect of our wedding was perfect. Donna has a lot of experience in the wedding industry and was able to put us in contact with whoever we needed over the course of our planning. In addition, the day of the wedding she was the equivalent of an excellent wedding planner who made sure the bridal party was organized, the vendors were all set, and assisted me with anything I needed. Yes, the place is pricey and the rental fee only includes the raw space (no chairs, tables, extra lighting etc.), but once you factor in the exceptional service and expertise of the staff -- it is worth the money. My only complaint is that I would have liked to know up front that if I wanted to have both my ceremony and reception in the ballroom (we had cocktails outside in the courtyard, which I would definitely recommend) I would also have to purchase a very expensive "Pipe and drape," to divide the room. Of course, you can have your ceremony in the courtyard and never need this expensive equipment, but it was definitely an inevitable cost that we didn't think of up front. But, I couldn't have been more excited to show off this awesome venue to my guests the day of the wedding. The courtyard is definitely the show stopper. It has a very chic urban setting with several storefronts backing into it, and at dusk it is picturesque of the perfect wedding. read more

I had my wedding here in June and I cannot say enough great things about Kiran and her team! The space is just amazing and romantic. We had the wedding outside in the courtyard, cocktails, and then moved inside for the reception. The service was impeccable and attentive. The food was EXCELLENT! We chose challenging dishes to execute - poached egg with asparagus salad for appetizers and the eggs were perfectly executed- on all 100 guests. Food was amazing and they got everything perfect! The Chef will customize anything you like - we had him make little mini pies which were lovely. Kiran was very hands on with our day of planner to help make sure everything went smoothly. My husband and I held our wedding reception at The Ivy Room, and we are so grateful that we did! We wanted a unique space, but something that was also warm and comfortable. The Ivy Room exceeded our expectations in every way. The space is historic, but beautifully renovated. The wood floors and large windows give a cozy feel. You would never know that the space is constantly in use as it is so well cared for. It feels brand new with beautiful finishes. In addition, Donna, Lara and Christy are wonderful to work with and have excellent ideas. We had our wedding reception at the Ivy Room on September 9th. I can't say enough about this space and how perfect it was for us. We did not want a cookie-cutter space--the photos speak for themselves. This was the first wedding venue we saw, and even though we looked at another dozen, nothing could compare. We had cocktail hour in the courtyard, and one of my favorite memories of the day is walking out to greet our guests in that beautiful space. Christy and Donna were immensely helpful as we planned, and the day of coordination was huge. We did not have the budget for a wedding planner (the Ivy Room is a bit pricey) but the staff there worked with our very experienced vendors and I did not feel that we were missing one. It's taken me farrr too long to write this spectacular review! We got married on 5.27.17 at the Ivy Room and it was the most perfect, magical day. It was honestly the only venue we saw & we were sold. Between the beautiful outdoor space, the ivy, the pretty indoor space, and the outstanding service we were 100% in! The courtyard is even more gorgeous in person with the ivy growing & the twinkling lights. Day of, everything was taken care of and we were able to use their chairs, plates, utensils, table covers, cake stand, etc. Chrissy was our coordinator & she was/is still amazing to this day! The Ivy Room is an ideal place for a wedding. We got married here a few weeks ago and can attest that the location and staff are perfect. Our guests were floored to find such a beautiful courtyard that was immaculately maintained and covered in ivy right in the middle of the downtown Chicago. It truly is a hidden gem in a prime location. For out-of-town guests the location is great because it's surrounded by a ton of hotels, restaurants and situated right between Michigan Ave. and State St. The staff at the Ivy Room is superb. I had July wedding at the Ivy Room, and I could not have had a better experience! The space speaks for itself (hardwood, balcony doors, gorgeous courtyard filled with flowers and twinkling lights in the trees). Just two weeks after getting engaged, my then-fiance and I were looking for alternative spaces for our wedding (we just weren't into the idea of a hotel), and we came across the Ivy Room. After having seen The Peggy Noteabart, The Newberry Library, West Loop Studio, and A New Leaf, we came to the Ivy Room. As soon as I walked into the space, I knew it was exactly what we were looking for. The ballroom and courtyard are truly elegant, but it still has an urban feel with store fronts facing the courtyard and high rises highlighting the sky view and peering over the building. In addition to planning the wedding, Christy and Donna were an absolute pleasure to work with. They worked closely with my wedding planner (reviewed Katie Kozlowski of Bliss Weddings) to ensure every detail the day of the wedding was taken care of. During my walk-through, Donna and Christy provided invaluable insight as to what floor plan looks best in the space, how to best hang lanterns in the ceiling from the hidden rafters, where to put the DJ table, etc. The Ivy Room is a bit pricey as compared to some other venues, but the space and service you will receive from these ladies in unparalleled! We got married at the Ivy Room recently, and could not be happier with our experience. First of all, Donna, Lara and Christy were fantastic. I reserved the Ivy Room 1.5 years in advance, and they helped me from the day we reserved to the wedding day. They are a wealth of information and put us in contact with the best vendors in Chicago. Even after we chose our vendors, they helped coordinate the logistics of getting everyone there on time, familiarizing them with the space, and helping them set up on the day-of. The venue itself is gorgeous. It is an elegant yet simple room, and you can really make it into whatever you want it to be. There was more than enough room for our 120 guests, dance floor, bar, catering staff and DJ. We had our ceremony and cocktails in the courtyard outside. The landscaping is beautiful, and our guests mentioned that the wall of ivy looked like waves when the wind blew. Guests are seated in long rows--even though it is not traditional, it works well in the space. read more

When I got engaged, I knew that I wanted to get married in the city but I wasn't a modern bride and a lot of venues in the city are very contemporary and modern so my search was kind of hard at first but then I found the Ivy Room. It's stunning, so clean and elegant....it's truly just a beautiful space and you can turn it in to anything that you want!! Could not say enough about the staff or the venue. We recently had our wedding here and could not have been happier with everything at the Ivy Room. Leslie helped us through the entire process and was a saint! She knew exactly what we needed, and told us exactly what we needed to hear. Almost sad to be done with the whole process - we feel like we became friends of sorts with some of the staff! The chef Chris was incredible as well. We left our food tasting totally in awe and wondered if the meal would hold up being served to the masses, and it absolutely did. I can't say enough positive things about our experience with The Ivy Room on September 1, 2013. First, it is a stunning venue. It was exactly what we wanted for our wedding - urban and elegant and warm. The ballroom is a beautiful raw space with which you can do almost anything -- hardwood floors and big french doors that open out onto the green courtyard --- and even though we had 180 guests, it felt much more intimate. And the courtyard is, in my opinion, unparalleled in the city. So beautiful! We had our ceremony inside, cocktail hour outside in the courtyard, and reception back in the ballroom. I will note that because our ceremony was inside we ended up having to spend more on a curtain that cuts the room in half and hides the tables for the dinner - just an additional cost to keep in mind when you are planning your budget. I will also echo the other reviews to say that Donna, Christy, and Lara were absolutely amazing. They are so kind and fun and were never too busy to answer my questions about the venue itself or to give recommendations and tips about different vendors. When I ran into problems with other vendors (not many, but they do arise), these three helped me iron everything out with ease. I will miss them now that the planning is over!! In sum this was our dream venue and it worked out perfectly. We had the most magical day!! read more

We had a corporate cocktail party at The Ivy Room, and we could not have been happier with the venue! The courtyard is a magical hideaway in the middle of bustling Chicago, and even though rain brought our event inside to the ballroom, we still felt as if we'd found a rustic hideaway in the midst of the city skyscrapers. Wood floors and tables, rustic cross back chairs and high open ceilings made this Chicago venue a perfect spot for our fun backyard summer theme. Chrissy helped us plan the event, and from the very beginning, she was responsive, professional and open to our ideas. During the event, the entire staff team was exceptional - not just friendly and professional but quick to go over above and beyond by making suggestions and being always aware of what was happening. For example, when the band took a break, it was less than 10 seconds before the house music was flipped back on. Amazing! Chrissy helped picked out some really fun food stations - such as a slider bar and a make-you-own-sundae station - and the guests raved about how wonderfully elegant and delicious everything tasted. The food was simply amazing. And the bartenders - great, too! We wanted to have as much hands-on experiences for our guests as possible, so one of the things the event promised was the ability to teach guests how to mix their own Mojito - such fun! Okay, so by now, anyone reading this has learned that it is difficult to find a venue that 'fits' when you are looking for a place to get married. I found it to be really frustrating, visiting places that didn't look the way we wanted, or that had food you couldn't try beforehand, or finding a great place that is booked YEARS out.... I spent weeks driving downtown to go to several places in a day, and every day but one was a huge exercise in frustration and felt like a waste of time..... Until I visited the Ivy Room at Tree Studios and met Donna. I wasn't sure we could afford to have our wedding there, but figured that for the sake of looking into everything and gauging the value of the wedding venues I had seen, it was worth a try. I fell in love as soon as I walked in the door. The space is pretty big and can hold many more people than we had for our wedding, but it doesn't feel impersonal or overly grand. It is simple and beautiful. The wood floors are extremely pretty and refined. The ceiling is really high, and there is already a great lighting scheme in the room. The French doors to the courtyard are timeless and lovely, and let in the most gorgeous natural light during the day. There are sections of mother of pearl tiles that are luminous and delicate.... And the courtyard is a dream of brick, ivy, cool light posts. It brings together a delicate garden and the beautiful city of Chicago, with the urban feel touch of cool fire escapes and building views overhead.... There's a downstairs that is elegantly appointed and even the bathrooms are a great blend of style and comfort....It was everything I wanted, but I was pretty sure that we couldn't afford it....so I was a little sad. But then I started talking with Donna, and everything turned around. She didn't shun me due to my small budget! She actually (gasp!) helped me! Although many of the weddings that take place at the Ivy Room are larger budget operations, my limitations were absolutely not a deterrent at all. As it turns out, Sundays are a little cheaper. And Donna helped me to find truly excellent vendors that made our wedding a HUGE and beautiful success. I could not have done nearly as well planning our wedding had it not been for Donna's keen insights about vendors, layout, timing.... She really was the first person who was genuinely kind to me, and who completely intended to help us make our wedding what we wanted it to be. After my now-husband saw it and liked it, too, we committed to having our wedding at the Ivy Room and were sooooo excited about it. Planning a wedding is trying and I was, to be perfectly honest, surprised that Donna continued to be available to me and helpful to me throughout the 10 or so months that I had to put the day together. Her professionalism and, I think, her genuine pleasure in helping others through her experience and resources, made her an invaluable asset both to me and to the Ivy Room--her kindness and helpfulness made me LOVE this place even more than I already did. On the day of our wedding, Donna and Matt outdid even my optimistic expectations about their ability to coordinate the vendors and take care of the details, bringing together all of the things I had worked on and making our wedding stress-free and lovely. They are so incredibly competent, helpful, and detail oriented. Everyone loved our party and our wedding and it was, in large part, due to Donna (and Matt! I can't forget him! He's super, too!). I wouldn't have found the incredible vendors that I found without her help. I wouldn't have rethought the layout I'd planned if it weren't for her. I wouldn't have had the help of two kind, caring people on the day of our wedding.... And I wouldn't have such great memories of the experience, and of the place and of working with them, if it weren't for their magnanimous attitudes and kindness of heart. Our May 2014 wedding ceremony and reception was held at the The Ivy Room at Tree Studios in Chicago. It was simply amazing, beginning with the pure beauty of this venue. We booked the Ivy Room over one year in advance, as it offered all that we desired: beautifully private, sophisticated, warm, and elegant, with flexible space to accomodate both our ceremony and reception (and NOT a traditional hotel ballroom). There is something uniquely special about the Ivy Room, that summing it up in words and viewing pretty photos online does not seem to do it justice. But you can definitely feel it once you enter the the natural light-filled lobby with its floor to ceiling windows. Adjacent to the lobby is the most charming surprise...an intimate and meticulously manicured garden courtyard that is undeniably romantic (an ideal setting for a wedding ceremony or other private event). The gorgeous ballroom looks and feels clean and refined, with a timeless decor of gleaming wood floors, high ceilings and expansive wall of french doors overlooking the courtyard. Our ceremony and cocktail hour took place in the lovely courtyard. Masses of ivy that cover the building were just beginning to fill in mid-May (...if you want to see full blooming ivy in the courtyard, then I would plan a wedding date no earlier than June) but adding to the richness of the outdoor space is the lush garden landscaping, which was already in full spring bloom. Afterwards, our guests were ushered into the ballroom for dinner. The ballroom is quite spacious and versatile; our room layout was designed for a dinner reception and dancing for just under 100 guests, however the room can also suit events twice as large. There is a perfectly sized nook area within the ballroom to accomodate a band, without sacrificing any dancefloor or dinner table space; our 8-person band had plenty of room. The Ivy Room does require that you select a caterer from among their own exclusive list...however, you can choose other vendors on your own. But since their caterers must meet their high standards of excellence, we viewed their list as a plus, not a restriction. After considering four of their preferred caterers (I believe there were a total of 7 or 8 caterers to choose from), we selected Boka Catering, who exemplifies the exceptional quality and service that Ivy Room strives to endorse for their clients. Boka (thanks to Abby Kritzler) was consistently professional and responsive in working to customize our wedding menu to our needs, and after our tasting, we felt they provided the most outstanding cuisine; on wedding day, their service and food exceeded our expectations. Ivy Room also offers other excellent vendor suggestions and this is definitely a helpful guide when starting your wedding vendor search. Amazing, beautiful, unique, elegant...I can't use enough words to describe The Ivy Room! We had our wedding here recently and it was just perfect. From the beginning, Matt made us feel so welcomed and important and although the place sold itself, he really made us want to have our wedding here! Their whole team (Donna, Matt & Christy) was amazing and very accommodating to our needs. They recommended superb vendors as well as offered their opinions on specifics. They took care of everything on the day of, and Matt was there throughout the whole reception for anything we needed (i.e. safety pins for a broken bustle). The space is so exquisite from the courtyard to the indoor main room. We had our cocktail hour in the courtyard and it was perfectly shaded with lights on the trees and plenty of room for our guests to mingle. You really do forget that you are in the middle of Downtown Chicago! With help from our wonderful caterer & florist, Food for Thought & GNG Designs, they set up everything from the place card table to the dinner tables perfectly! We also has FROST lighting illuminate the walls with one of their many patterns, and that really made the room pop! The main room is so beautiful with the mother of pearl above the glass windows and doors and hardwood floor throughout, and is the perfect canvas for any theme you would desire. Just look at their blog! Every wedding and party brings a new and different look to the room and that was what I loved most about the space! I was truly overwhelmed with how beautiful everything turned out and it was a dream wedding for us! This place is absolutely amazing, worth every penny, and I am really going to miss it! I cannot encourage you enough to consider this venue for a wedding or any other special event. We recently held our daughter's wedding reception at The Ivy Room. They are nothing short of amazing! Chrissy was our event planner and no detail was too small, no request too big. They've got this down. The food is amazing and the chef was so accommodating during the tasting. Even though some of the speeches went way over, they somehow managed to serve the food hot immediately after they were done. The menu choice is extensive and everything we tasted delicious. And it's beautiful. While we wanted to have the cocktail hour in the stunning brick and ivy courtyard, the weather didn't cooperate and we had it down stairs which turned out fantastic. We did rent chandeliers from Elegant Event Lighting, which if you can manage it adds an extra touch of class we loved. All the vendors love working with The Ivy Room because of their professionalism. So make your special day even better and rest easy that the Ivy Room will take great care of you. read more

My wedding at the Ivy Room was perfect! The venue is beautiful - we had our ceremony and cocktail hour in the courtyard, and the reception was inside. Both areas are awesome - very romantic. The staff were wonderful to work with too. They were so nice and professional. We planned most of the wedding out of state - but everything was so easy with the Ivy Room staff. We had our wedding at the Ivy Room this past weekend and all I can say is Wow! What a spectacular place with awesome staff. We knew we wanted an outdoor wedding but needed to be realistic about this in late October in Chicago. Since the Ivy Room has both indoor and outdoor space, we knew it would work either way. We booked it online without even looking at the space and we are so glad we did. The space is just beautiful and it has a warm, intimate feeling all while being in the heart of the city. The courtyard is a very special place with beautifully manicured gardens, twinkle lights in the trees and a beautiful wall covered in lush ivy. The large indoor space is warmed up by beautiful hardwood floors, lovely french doors and elegant restrooms. The bridal suite was also just perfect for the size of our wedding - it has an en suite restroom, a corner of full-length mirrors, a vanity and many places for the bridal party to sit while getting ready. Christy, Lara and Donna went way above and beyond to ensure that everything was just perfect for the day of the wedding - they are so helpful and nice and touched base often to make sure we had everything that we needed. They even helped me repair my dress that I tore right before I walked down the aisle. When the weather turned cold earlier in the week, we decided to put outdoor heaters on hold for the ceremony via our caterer which worked out great. Our guest were a little chilly sitting outside but we kept the ceremony very short. The guests were so stunned by the beautiful setting that they didn't really mind being a bit chilly. We ended up moving our cocktail hour inside due to the weather which also worked out well. It really was the wedding of our dreams and we are so happy that we used the Ivy Room. Our choice to have our wedding and reception at the Ivy Room was the best decision we have made other than choosing each other :) Michael and I did not want to get married at a hotel and we wanted to find a special place that was in the city of Chicago. I came across their website while researching venue's in Chicago. We both recently moved from Los Angeles and did not know too much about the city. The Ivy Room was the first and last place we visited. As soon as we saw the beautiful courtyard we knew this is where we wanted to share our special day with our friends and family. From beginning to end, Christy and Donna were with us through all details of our special day. We were planning this wedding on our own and since our family does not live in Chicago, we needed guidance and help with the do's and don't's of weddings. They were very understanding and answered all 100 million questions that I had :) Its refreshing to have people really take a vested interest in you and provide top notch customer service. Our wedding was October 26th and although it was a bit chilly outside we had the wedding outside. Throughout the whole night, Donna and Christy both would come to Michael and myself asking if everything was ok. The best thing they could have done was after the wedding was over and right before we went out to see our guests for cocktail hour, they brought hors d'ourves from our wedding 2 of each. From what I know now, I didn't get a moments rest during the cocktail hour let alone be able to eat or enjoy any of the food. Alot of bride/grooms say they never eat anything at their wedding and I really thought it was thoughtful of them to think of us. The whole night we felt catered to, they made sure we were content all night. Also, they worked great with all of our vendors and were so organized throughout the whole night. We were both extremely pleased with their help and many of our family members stated how attentive they were to our needs. We have been to many weddings and we have seen it go wrong. We were so pleased our night went so well and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. The staff and the venue at the Ivy Room are classy, organized, and extremely pleasant to work with. We got married and had our reception at The Ivy Room in July, and it was one of the best decisions we've made! We toured a few other non-hotel venues because we knew we wanted something different, and as soon as we walked into the Ivy Room and saw the lush, ivy filled courtyard, we fell in love and had to have it. Luckily a date opened up for us, and we were getting married there a year+ later. We were fortunate to be able to have our wedding in their courtyard (no rain day plan for us!), and our guests were just in love as we were with the outdoor space. The five stars got it right. This venue and the wonderful people who work there are as good as it gets. I may be biased, but as the mother of the bride, I can tell you that everyone I spoke with told me it was the best wedding they've ever attended. At the end of the day, it's the couple themselves that it's all about. My daughter and son-in-law were beaming the entire night. We haven't stopped talking about how magical the evening was. I was asked if there was anything I would do differently or any regrets. There isn't anything I'd change except maybe that it not go by so quickly. When the weekend began I told my children that they should look at the big picture. It's a wedding and something will inevitably go wrong. To just go with the flow when it does. we had our wedding at the ivy room on april 12, 2014 and everything was spectacular! christy and lara were amazing to work with, both before and during the event. they were responsive to my questions and totally on top of all the details. the space itself is immaculate: so light, bright and clean. we were able to turn the space into exactly what we wanted. to be in river north in what feels like a special and secret place is so so lovely; i feel very lucky that we were able to have our wedding here (it's already fun to be running around the neighborhood and have the memories) and will recommend it to anyone! cannot say enough good things about our experience; thank you, ivy room!! read more

I just got married at The Ivy Room a couple weeks ago and cannot stop smiling. Everything about the venue exceeded my expectations!! The setting is so beautiful. We got married in the courtyard and it is like a hidden garden in the middle of the city. The brick aisle, the luscious ivy covering the buildings, the little nook to exchange vows, and the picturesque surrounding landscape is something you won't find elsewhere. I looked at a lot of Chicago venues and once I saw The Ivy Room I knew this is where I wanted to have my wedding. I wanted an urban setting, but with a twist, and that's exactly what The Ivy Room offers. After the ceremony and cocktail hour outside the reception was inside. The room is so elegant. It's classic in many ways and gives you the opportunity to make it what you want. Beautiful French doors offer guests a peek at the courtyard. We strung paper lanterns and brought in centerpieces and décor to create a vintage look. Everything about the room and lobby area is very well taken care of. But what I most want people to know about The Ivy Room is how wonderful it is to work with its staff. It's so important to really enjoy working with your vendors. Christy and Donna are so easy to work with and made planning my wedding and the wedding day so special. They really care about making your day perfect, easy and seamless. They have every single detail covered and make sure that you know this. I walked into my wedding day knowing that I didn't need to worry about anything because they gave me that confidence. They brought up suggestions, offered recommendations on vendors or décor ideas and were very responsive to any of my questions. They went the extra step to make sure I was happy on the wedding day, constantly checking in with me. But even more, they are so encouraging and excited for you about your wedding.
