I thought I would warn others. The Dr said during the session that she would give me the herbs for free because she understood how hard up people are. I asked the receptionist to check with the Dr about the price but was still asked to pay around £150. I cannot imagine that many will have this sort of money (I havent) and felt that I should let people know so that they are forewarned.

And in this blog I am going to…read moreexplain how Nick Parmar incorporates a blend of Gua sha, Cupping therapy, Acupressure, Qi Gong, Acupunture and Gold leaf into an amazing facial. Following on this blog will also be included my thoughts during and after the treatment. Gua sha is a instrument-assisted traditional Chinese medical treatment. During this treatment Nick press-stroked the skin to release unhealthy elements from any injured areas of my body and to stimulate my blood flow and healing. Gua sha is known to produce an anti-inflammatory effect and a protection for your immune system that continues for several days following just one treatment. It is often used for treating pain, stiffness, fever, chills, coughs, nausea and vomiting, and can also be very effective in treating acute and chronic internal organ disorders. Cupping therapy is an alternative medicine. During this therapy Nick placed cups on my skin to create suction, which in turn increased my blood flow. This treatment can be done to promote the healing of a broad range of medical disorders. For thousands of years the Chinese have used acupressure points as a treatment to enhance muscle tone and increase circulation. In our hectic lives we often pull and stretch our skin; the connective tissue becomes weak, and the skin becomes loose. I went straight in to see a lovely doctor who was that nice to me that she made me cry! She quickly sussed out my situation and sorted me a prescription out. Even better is that they have a Lloyds pharamacy attached to the side of the building so it's really convenient to go and pick up what ever you need.

I wasn't completely comfortable talking in great depth about my health issues, mostly since I felt they were not altogether major, and I think to some extent one needs to become accustomed to one's new doctor before you start spouting every little problem. Anyway, the doctor I saw was lovely and helpful, very calming and very informative. What more could you want?

Now I am also a bit of a hypochondriac and once got myself into a bit of a worry over something or other, and despite probably thinking I was a bit pathetic the doctor I saw (a woman who I'm afraid I can't remember the name of!) was absolutely lovely and sympathetic and managed to get the perfect balance between objective advice and gentle sympathy...so I didn't feel as stupid as I probably seemed! I also staggered there once rather under-dressed in the cold weather with a severe temperature and generally feeling hideous while I was supposed to be finishing my dissertation in time for the fast-approaching deadline! The doctor I saw then was great and instantly gave me a note stating that I had a 'very serious viral infection' or similarly strong terms which really put my mind at rest when desperately requiring an extention! Overall a generally very positive experience with all doctors I saw.

They have a wide range of magazines to flick through, not just your women's weeklies but also men's health, music magazines and local publications. All the staff here is really friendly and most importantly listen to you, they won't push you put if you have over run the regular three minutes.
