I have bulging disks and after working on our house, they were flaring up. My husband's lower back seized up the following week, and we had a 23 hr drive home in the next few days. We googled chiropractors and Gateway Wellness popped up. It happened to be a few minutes from our house, so we took a chance and made appointments for both of us. From the moment we walked into the building, we could tell it was a friendly atmosphere, and upon meeting Dr. Fagen, I was immediately put at ease. He was friendly and very knowledgeable of my condition. He took x rays, which I appreciated, and showed me stretches to help so I wouldn't have to rely on a chiropractor for relief. I am definitely going to make an appointment with him each time we're in Florida just to have, hopefully, small "tweaks" done. My husband was next, and he was just as impressed as me. Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith, and we're certainly happy we did on this occasion. I would definitely recommend Dr. Fagen to anyone with back pain!

I started having severe back pain the week of Thanksgiving (2016). I thought it would clear up on…read moreits own, it always had in the past. But when the pain continued into early 2017, I decided to seek Chiropractic help. April Chiropractic & Wellness was the closest chiropractor to my home that took my insurance. They also had hours that extended beyond my workday which allowed me to set up an appointment after work and not miss a day. I was all in. During my first visit to Dr. Aprile's office, the staff took a series of x-rays, provided their initial thoughts and gave me a quick treatment (like five minutes or less). A followup appointment was set for a week later. I left this first appointment feeling somewhat better physically but with still no answers. At my followup appointment, Dr. Aprile ran through the x-rays with me and showed me exactly why I was having pain in my back. He told me that he had never seen a case this severe and needed to do some research to help me figure out my next steps (because Aprile Chiropractic & Wellness couldn't perform every task that would be needed for my recovery). Dr. Aprile really made it sound like this was a research project he couldn't wait to tackle. I received another treatment and then left after setting up an appointment for two weeks later. At this third appointment, Dr. Aprile came with a list of places I could go in order to take the next steps in my recovery. He asked if I needed him to contact any of those places right while I was in his office. I said no, I could do it on my own. Before this meeting I had ordered a product on Amazon that I thought might help. Dr. Aprile took more x-rays and gave me instantaneous feedback on the product. He said that things were better with this product but still not as good as they needed to be. He also was very upfront that insurance wasn't going to cover one of the tests he was performing and that I would get a letter in the mail from my insurance company but that his clinic would eat the cost of it. I took Dr. Aprile's advice and got a referral to one of the clinics in the area that could help me with my next step. After visiting that clinic and getting treatment, I am going on five months of no back pain and am back to be my active self (running, playing softball, lifting my daughter, etc.). I am very grateful for the interest Dr. Aprile and his staff took in me and their willingness to go above and beyond to help treat my back pain. If all doctors took this approach, the medical field would have a much better reputation.
