This is a very comfortable establishment, ready for anything: lots of picnic tables outside, boat dock, inside pub area. Inside cozy restaurant area with beautiful views out the window, a pool hall, and a small exhibition room in the back with some very interesting local terrestrial/marine life information available. Just a wonderful old hotel in some parts and absolutely convenient in others. Re food: fish and chips are delicious, catch of the day was sea bass (delicious!). Also, love the freezer of ice creams available! I was very happy with my delicious dinner and thrilled with the experience.

Now as you can see in the photo, the crab landed in front of me with a big ole cup of mayonnaise..... hmmm ..... Now normally I don't dream of steamy crab legs covered in hellmans, but thanks to a few pints I was feeling brave. You will just have to try it yourself if you are feeling dubious, but mix in some fresh lemon juice with that white goop and dip away - that is a tasty mess! Who would have thought crab and mayo? Go figure. Oh and the beer in the pics is not some blonde mess (i don't like the loaf of bread in a glass) it is Smithwicks ale - pronounced smith-icks - which seems to taste pretty dang good with everything.

The service is just right with friendly servers only being there just as you need them. We ate our food on the back patio - which is a sun trap and filled with flowers and other pretty decor. (There is an awning in case of wet weather - but there are plenty of seats inside). We visited on a Saturday night and they moved the tables on the back patio to make room for a complimentary DJ party! Is one those places where you really feel welcome and is the pub where we spend most of evenings. The pub is not very big but it has a lot of character and in the weekends have the Indian night (didn't try it cannot comment on the food) which from the menu where few dishes but all well selected. Definitely I personally recommend.
