They even have a drop off laundry service - one large-ish bag of clothes washed, dried and folded for 28 Euro - so helpful when you pack for two weeks in a carry-on! I can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. If you are staying in Killarney area, this is close to Ross Castle, Muckross House, the Abbey, and is actually on the "Ring of Kerry" drive path. Easy day trip to Dingle from here as well! Stay at the Lake Hotel, on the lake, and you won't regret it.

I got a voucher for The Castle Hotel on the back of a Dunnes Stores Reciept. A 2 night stay for 2ppl with breakfast each morning and one evening meal with a bottle of wine for 230euro. On Entering the Hotel on Friday afternoon we were greeted by a lovely lady, very jolly and chatty and couldn't give us enough information. she gave us a tourist map for cork and also a tourist map for the town of Macroom. She gave us all the information we needed about meal times, leisure centre times, the location of everything within the hotel and gave us some suggestions on where to go in the evenings or during the day in the town. The room was lovely, we had a king size bed and a single bed, tea and coffee facilities with my favourite cinnamon biscuits.....its the only reason I stay in Hotels....so yum! :) we also had an ironing board and iron, a telephone, a television with more channels than I would usually expect in a hotel. The only thing I felt was missing from the room was a hairdryer but, most people only stay here for a short time so I suppose they aren't really needed. That's just me being a typical picky woman! :P Oh and the windows were great!!!....nothing I find more irritating than tiny windows looking out at a wall or windows that hardly open an inch! the room had a big window, that opened...wide, it was great :) :) :) Overall I thought the rooms were spotless clean, the beds were very comfortable, the decor was warm and homely and of course ye....the biscuits :)

The weather is definitely cold so bring a jacket as the temperate can dip. The hotel itself has this rustic vibe to it which we really enjoy. It's a good mixture of old and new as the picture of the staircase with carpet has the old school feeling I enjoy. Keep in mind when you walk into your room the lights won't work unless you insert your room key into the slot provided by the door. After which the lights will work. The hotel restaurant is very good, I enjoyed my lamb plate and my wife enjoyed her pizza as well. Moderately priced food nothing over the top and I can recommend the lamb for sure. The people here are extremely nice and friendly so ask them any question and they'll be happy to answer. Enjoy your stay.

She was amazing, so proffesional and helpful! We were worried that we would have no place to stay. That did not happen. All the staff were great. The bed was pretty comfy and I did not love the pillows. The hotel looks like it could use some TLC and some updating. Our room smelled a bit musty and my allergies were in high gear from that. The light fixture was hanging out of the ceiling rather than it being placed inside the socket for the fixtures in the ceiling. Seems liek anx3asy enough fix to take care of. It was pretty loud there where you could hear everything inclusong people talking in the hallway or walking up the stairs. There is an elevator. They warned us there was an 80's dance night happening and it would be loud. It was quite loud. They provided ear plugs but they did not help much. We did get some sleep. The room cost about $220 which I thought was expensive for the room quality. The breakfast buffet was good and the food was yummy. It was in an excellent location. Walking distance from the bus and train stations. So close to town and all the great shops. It is right across the street from the botanical gardens. We lost our EU adapters during our travels some how for our phones. They loaned us some so we could charge our phones. I love that they had a box of them to loan out. No fridge in the room. In fact most of the hotels in Ireland do not offer that. The room had a tea kettle with tea and a chocolate bar. We would stay here again but may be more specific about the room we choose if we could do that and check to see if they are having music and dancing.

I thought the bathrooms were nice, but certain family members thought the showers were too small. The gym was pretty decent for a hotel gym with all the equipment working (a rare thing in budget-friendly hotels in America). Can easily do cardio and strength training exercises. A great budget-friendly option I would stay at again. Customer Service was great too, which is the most importance to me and determines whether I'd return. There's a gas station across the street that is very convenient with a clean store.

There's a playroom and many activities for families. The fitness center was only open during the times we weren't available--7:30 a.m.- 7:30 pm. It looked like a nice fitness center. You can't enter the pool area without foot and head coverings. They are quite strict. Our room was tiny with a shower the size of a phone booth. They don't believe in washclothes at some of these hotels, yet they only provide bath gel for washing. I suppose you need to bring your own or use your hand. The second night we needed to go to the front desk to retrieve towels since housekeeping forgot to stop by that morning. They offered the typical Irish breakfast and buffet. The pub area was very nice. They had a 2 piece duo playing and the area was quite busy. Someone in our group said the bar closed at 8:00 pm, but they were actually open until 11:00 pm. The hotel is quite large and easy to get lost in. Security is very good.

The hotel has a great location, directly on the main street in Killarney's city center, so location and access to shops, pubs and eateries was top notch. Location was probably our favorite thing about this hotel. While the hotel touts being luxury, it missed the mark for us as we would not describe any of our experience, the outlets and certainly not the rooms as "luxury". The rooms had fairly updated furnishings and a nice bathroom. We were in a room that featured a queen/full and a twin. There was alternative seating and a table, which is always nice and beats having to sit on the bed the entire time in the rooms. I appreciated the functional windows as well. Odd how many hotels do not have AC or windows that can open. The lobby and interior restaurant and bar were quite dated and did not match the overall vibe the rooms and Scotts bar created. Felt very disjointed in overall vibe and decor from public spaces to rooms. Speaking of the interior restaurant and bar, this was our least favorite meal and dining experience while in Killarney. We did breakfast and dinner, both of which were not that great. Food quality and service was lack luster for us. On the flipside, Scotts Bar was pretty solid for a pint and cocktail each night. We always made our way to the bar upon our return to the hotel each night, enjoyed each time we bellied up to the bar. Service at the front desk was also a bit disappointing. Arrival was okay, departure was quick and uneventful, but anytime we needed assistance outside of arrival/departure, it seemed like we were a bother. Situation with getting our of the garage with the provided ticket proved to be more of a hassle than need be. Instead of being assisted, the Front Desk Agent seemed accusatory and dismissive to our claim that the ticket provided was not working. Overall, we enjoyed the location, room and Scotts Bar, everything else was "meh". Biggest win for Scotts Hotel is definitely the location, which in itself makes for a good time when in Killarney. Hopeful they can address the service concerns and give the interior spaces a refresh, as those would both be definite wins.

They were kind enough to put our twin beds together so we could sleep together. Tub had jets and a soak felt lovely. Slept well but in all fairness we were very tired. Definitely spring for the breakfast. Great selection wish all our trip breakfasts were similar. Love they had a pool but didnt use it. Hotel is at Great location. We parked across the street but it was not included. Town fun to walk and explore.

I wish I could eat their breakfast sausage every day of my life - I still think about it. Our room was a great size and very clean. The location was also wonderful. It was walkable to town center and local restaurants, but far enough away to be clear of the "hustle and bustle." Having a parking lot for our rental car was also appreciated!
