While staying in Poway for a couple of months, I came across this gem of a coffee spot. They offer seasonal drinks & good vibes. I'd describe the atmosphere as mellow, it truly is a perfect place to work or chill with friends. Do keep in mind that since it is near schools, there are hours where the place is completely OPPOSITE of mellow... so if you get easily disrupted by youth, steer clear when it's about the time they let schools out. The baristas are very friendly and helpful. SO PLEASE BE NICE TO THEM & CONSIDERATE -- only because I've witnessed some middle/high schoolers be completely ridiculous about their orders & making the sweet baristas remake whole drinks because they ordered something that they didn't even know what it meant *eye roll* & of course didn't like the flavor. Pros: The staff were very nice and welcoming. The inside of the store was very cute and cozy. Had lots of non-dairy and vegan options. Cons: The staff didn't know which of their pastries was vegan/non dairy. The matcha latte was flavorless. I did order an almond milk latte but was given an oat milk latte (they called out our drinks and stated it was oat milk). Overall I wouldn't personally go there again, but it may be someone else's cup of tea. read more

A friend and I came here to study and grab some coffee. we ordered 2 different flavored lattes, but they tasted exactly the same with a ton of foam... not really too impressed. I also ordered the breakfast bagel which I was also not really to impressed with. I really enjoy stopping by Kings Craft for a quick coffee. It's decorated very nice and has plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. They currently have a bunch of seasonal drinks. I tried the chognog and it was really good! It was perfectly sweet but not too sweet to over power the coffee. I also recently ordered an iced almond milk coffee with brown sugar maple flavoring. Personally I would not get it again as I didn't taste any flavor or sweetness. I would recommend coming here and doing some work or studying! All the employees are really nice too! read more

This is the perfect place for a pick me up after a walk/hike in the area. There is plenty of parking and outdoor seating. My friends and I started chatting with other people who were in line to order and it felt so refreshing. We walked to them for about 20 mins outside. I came in this morning before work. Finally after my boss brought coffees to our job site throughout the last 2 weeks. I got an iced coffee and avocado toast. Super blown away by both. I'm a Starbucks drive-thru guy. I relish the opportunity to find a local business to get coffee at though. I work all over San Diego and this is the only one I've felt compelled to leave a review for. The avocado toast was done perfectly. Down to every part of it. I fell in love with the location of this coffee shop. It doesn't even feel like you're in San Diego, just somewhere out in the mountains! The shop is very charming and has a unique homey feel to it. I could comfortably work here on my laptop. I got the churro latte with oatmilk, which tasted amazing to me! It was on the sweeter side (which I like), but you could still taste the coffee so it was a great mix. I also ordered the turkey swiss panini. I have to say that I was slightly disappointed because I was expecting the sandwich to be more specialized and unique tasting by the shop, but it tasted like something I could easily make at home. I love trying new coffee shops and happen to be in the area, so I decided to try it out. Ordered two different drinks from their April menu. The first one was the Rise and Shine with Oat milk, overall a good drink. Great level of sweetness and good taste. The second drink was The Legend. Unfortunately, this drink was a fail. They were out of the chaga foam but substituted for mexican mocha foam (a recommendation from the barista). The drink came out, and there was no foam, I asked the barista about the foam, and she stated that since the lid would not close, she mixed in the foam. The purpose of ordering the foam is to have the foam sit on top, not for it to be mixed in. I also expected a little more taste, but that also didn't happen. The drink was very bland for $7. I hope they get better lids for future drinks. read more

Food & Drinks: I ordered the lavender latte which is pretty good if you are into the lavender (floral note) in your coffee or are just looking something unique. And their avocado toast with balsamic glaze is amazing! By far one of the good avocado toasts I've tasted. Place: It's a great peaceful vibe. The place is so relaxing to stop by with friends and they have outdoor sitting with cute red chairs when the weather is nice. The only downside it is busy, there might be lack of sits. Stopped by before an appointment, the place is really nice and has a very clean modern feel. I got a drip coffee which was very tasty, I didn't ask which origin this coffee was or if it was a blend but it had a nice bright, fruity taste to it, probably a medium roast. They offer drip coffee, pour over as well as expresso drinks and also sell single origin beans from various locations. The people were very nice and welcoming, there were a few people lounging around and hanging out taking advantage of their free wifi. I'm not much of a hang out at coffee shop type of person unless I'm meeting someone for a first date or hanging out after dinner. If i did, this would be the type of coffee shop I'd hang out at; Low key, not fussy or pretentious, very laid back and chill. Definitely the best place for coffee in Poway! The owner is former Chargers center, Cory Withrow, how cool is that?! So this is what NFL players do after the NFL. Always love stopping here on my way to work. Glad I found this little coffee shop, right in the middle of my house and job (so I kind of have to stop for an iced latte lol). My go to's have been 16oz iced lattes. Lavender and earl grey are my favorite syrups, vanilla is pretty good too, but not the biggest fan of hazelnut. One of the baristas sometimes mixes my two favorite flavors, lavender and earl grey, when I can choose between the two, which tastes even better than just 1 syrup. I have visited here a couple times and both times have been underwhelmed. Husband and I visited for a coffee date on Wednesday and ordered cappuccinos and breakfast sandwiches. The cappuccinos were terrible- extremely bitter tasting which shows an unskilled barista pulling the espresso shot. Both mine and my hubby's were burnt and bitter tasting, unfortunately. My breakfast sandwich on the croissant was actually pretty good (I believe they use Bread & Cie so you can't lose). Hubby had his on a bagel and said it was underwhelming and dry. The service was hit or miss. The person taking our order was very nice. When we picked up our stuff from the bar area, the person was unhelpful when I clarified if that was my order (it was hard to hear them calling out orders) and basically said "I don't know, I didn't put it here." Ooooo-k. The decor is cute and bright, lots of seating inside and out. However, I don't think we will be returning as the quality of the coffee is not there. Highly recommend HOB or Mostra for delicious cappuccinos nearby. Last note, their mask policy written in passive aggressive note on the wall was weird at best. #America? Masking is not a political issue, it's a public health one and should still be encouraged for unvaccinated people inside. read more

I met a friend here for coffee. My very first visit. I think I will be back again. My first beverage was a latte that did not disappoint. It had the perfect amount of foam. I don't even like foam however, forgot how to order someplace else than that massive chain that shall-not-be-named. My second beverage was their Throat Punch. It is named Throat Punch for a reason. It was yummy and I drank it as if it was a light summer drink. I really think it should come with a disposable razor so you can remove the chest hairs that sprout up after consumption. I am NOT kidding. If you need a pick-me-up....or an orbit-up....get the Throat Punch. My next visit I will opt for something a little less leaded. I like lead in my pencil but dang. Whoa Nelly! I took one star off because it was miserably warm in the store. Also, the barista was busy brewing, I assume, and gave a glance back....however, "Be right with you"....just that little touch makes all the difference.
