I came here earlier this week with a gift card that I had won a few years ago. I love the decor and mob theme in the restaurant. It gave it a little something extra. Italian is not generally my first cuisine choice but everything I had was tasty. I got a Caesar salad which was flavorful and gnocchi which was fluffy and had a nice sauce. This was my first visit. We were celebrating my sister's 50th with her husband and kids. They have been here before. Service was attentive. They had some really good specials. Food was delicious. The dining space is cozy. I was there for 20 minutes before I realized the sconces were guns. Smelled amazing in there. Food was homey italian american food that you would expect a south philly grandmother to serve you. Not pretentious but delicious, well presented, and super feel good food. It is definitely food cooked with love. I am not a big meat eater. I typically don't order chicken out. I ordered the Chicken Italiano which had broccoli rabe and roasted peppers in a light sauce with a little cheese. It was the most tender chicken I have ever had. Delicious. I was impressed. Food here is very good if you like traditional east coast Italian American cuisine, which I do. I've been here a dozen times and although the menu has an excellent selection, I can only say that I've had the ravioli and sausage meatballs, both of which were excellent. Eventually I'll need to try some of the other things they offer, but the meatballs and ravioli are so good I keep ordering the same things each time. The worst dinner I've had out in a very, very long time. First , tables a way too small and crammed together. My hubby and I were celebrating our 45th anniversary and had hoped for a nice dinner but that was not to be. For starters we ordered the fried calamari which were a bit salty but even worse they were very tough and I'm sure they were freezer burnt before breaded and fried. My eggplant parm was pure mush! I couldn't eat at all! It was removed from the bill. My husband's tortellini were way overcooked! We didn't order any coffee or dessert didn't want to have more disappointment! Minus one star- We had 8pm reservations for the bar area near the window. We arrived early and were told that our table would be ready at 8pm. Imagine our surprise when the hostess took us to the dining room. I questioned her and her comment was, "we don't guarantee seating request". What did we wait a half hour for if we were not going to be seated at our requested table? We told her we would have eaten elsewhere and she could have cared less. Minus one star- our waitress cared about everyone else but us. She was nice but we certainly were not her priority. Her friends sitting at the next table seemed to take up most of her time. The food was good but we questioned whether the pasta was truly homemade as it certainly did not taste like any homemade pasta we ever had prior. We ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and linguini and clams in red sauce not hot. Both dishes were good and described on the menu as having homemade pasta. The taste and texture was more of boxed pasta. I had a Caesar salad prior to my meal which was decent. It had shaved cheese, croutons and creamy dressing. I would have preferred more of a romaine hearts Caesar. This salad had more of the bitter, outer leaves which I find off putting. For an up charge of $5, higher quality romaine hearts should be used. We were once again served cut up rolls prior to dinner with no cheese this time. Butter packs and olive oil were on the table. Overall, the place was nicely decorated for Christmas with Christmas music in the background. Our table in the dining room was close to the window and our food was okay. We expected 5 star dining and this was 3 star which is just an average night out for us. Minus one- Five years later and nothing has changed but adding a service charge for using a credit card!!! There are a lot of things I can say about this location, but nothing is negative. The food is astonishing, the location is right in town so easy access, which everyone loves. And the dining staff are so polite because they live in the same town in which they work, ergo they must treat others with the respect they desire in return. Are here Thursday night with a group of 20 fraternity brothers. We come here probably 3x a year. They take fantastic care of us and for what we pay you are not going home hungry. We started with a great cold antipasto. Cheese, meat, peppers and olive. Next we had mussels in a white sauce and calamari. Fish isn't my thing so I passed on this part. Next we had rigatoni bolognese. The meat sauce was so delicious and flavorful with some carrots in it. The plate at our table was empty because I made sure to finish it. Next a small house salad with house made vinaigrette dressing. For main course I went with the chicken Marsala. They made a good Marsala sauce that has a little bite to it. We finished with some nice tasting mini cannolis and a small dish of chocolate ice cream. This was like the ice cream that comes from the 5 gallon container. We have a neighborhood dinner in December every year. We choose Kitchen Consigliere because of the amazing food. We dined there with on Saturday 12/13 and it was outstanding! Appetizers of steam clams in a white sauce, steamed muscles in a red sauce, grilled romaine with sautéed shrimp and scallops, whole artichokes, and friend calamari. All of it great. Made a reservation for 5 via phone as they only accept reservations on Open Table for 4 or less. The dining experience was stellar. You know it's authentic Italian when olive oil is already on the table! They also give you plenty of bread. I had the gnocchi which was out of this world. It came with a salad and I upgraded to the Caesar- huge for a side salad. The server knew the menu very well and was around when we needed something. The pace of the meal flowed very nicely as we started off with the charcuterie board appetizer - definitely enough for our party to get us started. And we finished off with a slice of the "cake of the day" which was a cannoli cake. It actually had a small cannoli on top. Large enough piece for all of us to share! Came back to take my dad out for his birthday dinner. Came on a Wednesday evening thinking it wouldn't be busy, but it was! Every Wednesday they have a live DJ playing in the outside tent. You won't be able to hear the music if you decide to dine inside. They do charge a credit fee! They didn't explain it to me until after I viewed my receipt and was explained the charge. Ordered Fried calamari, Clams and linguini (white sauce), Sunday gravy, Flounder Francaise and Carrot cake. Fried calamari was amazing! Lightly fried with balsamic and sweet marinara. Highly recommend the calamari dish. Absolutely delicious! All entrees were great and came with salad. Some entrees allowed you to choose pasta or veggie. Clams and linguine were fresh and plentiful. Good serving size of clams and had a nice light flavor. Not too bold. Sunday gravy was heavy and a dish for meat lovers. It is a lot of food and something one person shouldn't finish in one sitting. My flounder was a special of the day and was very good! Strong lemon flavor. I ordered mine with a side of veggie, but get pasta instead to help soak up some of the sauce. What a horrible experience. The minute we stepped in the door the hostess told us we had to be finished by 7pm as they had another reservation coming in. Our reservation was for 5:30p. It was a dinner for our sons birthday. Ok, so they come and take our drink order, they put the drinks down but mines didn't come? Finally the waitress comes and I ask her for my drink and she blames the busboy. We order some apps the rice balls were so dense and loaded, and I mean loaded with parm cheese. Noone ever came back to see how things were. Our meals came out luke warm at best, again noone came back to check on everything. I had ordered a dessert for my son for his bday, waitress came over and acted like she didn't know so another few minutes go by, and next thing you know the busgirl comes with the piece of cake. I cannot even begin to state the issues witha few of the meals, but I can say, 100% not worth the $250.00 it cost us for mediocre meals and service. read more

Service was terrible. Went at 4:00 pm on a Sunday and had to be out in time to catch a 5:40 train at a station only minutes away. I chose this place based on its close proximity to the station. Had to ask for a check 4 times from 4 different people and got to the train with less than 1 minute to spare. 20 minutes to get a check??? Food was good, but if I hadn't gotten up several times to find someone to request our check, we would've missed the train. There's no excuse for that. We told them when we first sat down we had a train to catch as we were going to a concert. Caused great stress and we'd never go back. read more

This lively spot is on the corner in Collingswood. THERE IS A PARKING LOT BEHIND THE BUILDING, which we found out about after searching for a spot on the street for 10 minutes. Next time, we'll pull behind the building and relax, lol. Our entrees came with a house salad, but you can upgrade to the Caesar salad, which we will do next time (as we saw our neighbor's table order it, which looked delicious). My husband had the veal parm, which was delicious and cooked perfectly, and I had their gnocchi stuffed with Ricotta. Honestly, I won't order it again. It was too gummy for me and didn't have a lot of flavor. They also had numerous specials the night we were there, from apps to desserts, so don't rely on the online menu. It's a tight spot, and people sit on top of each other, which I really dislike, hence the 4-stars. We'll definitely go back but will probably ask for a specific table that's in a bit less crowded area of the restaurant. read more

Never Again! Two Sicilians that grew up on authentic Italian food and this is NOT it! Bread was like ShopRite brand with hard butter packets. Next Ceasar salad dressing was gross and salad was warm and wilted. Chicken piccata was overcooked and lemon tasted like dishwater. Veal chop was thick and tasteless not to mention was dark questioned wether it was even veal. Capuccino tasted burnt or was cheap coffee. Cake came out 15 minutes later after we finished our burnt coffee. Cannoli cake was NOT cannoli filling it was inedible.Would have rather went to Olive Garden and if you're a true Italian you know what that means! Outside tent clientele was loud and obnoxious thank god there was music to get us through. Needless to say we will never return. If you say the food here is amazing you don't know real Italian food! I have to say the food was absolutely delicious. No complaints at all about the food. My complaint is about the service. My first issue is that three out of the four people in our party were there and unfortunately I did get stuck in a little traffic and had a very difficult time finding a place to park after five minutes they threatened to give away our reservation, but personally, a three out of the four people are there. I don't see any reason for that. Second, it took forever for someone to come to our table literally a good 10 minutes now they wouldn't see us when I was two minutes late, but we could sit there for 10 minutes waiting for someone to come to our table. Third, when we went to place our order we wanted to place our appetizers and then place our order in a minute or two later they would not do that again. I understand it was busy. I accepted that but my big problem was is that a man came in who had a table for six and they allowed him to sit there for 45 minutes waiting for the rest of his party But five minutes for me and my three girlfriends they were gonna give away a reservation. If you have a rule for one person, it should be for everyone. We did mention something to the hostess, and then our server who was allegedly the manager came over and supposedly the person who was waiting at the table by himself for the other five members of his party was the last reservation of the night again, I find that very hard to believe since several people came in after him. She gave us a hard time saying that you know we shouldn't be yelling at the at the hostesses which we did not all four of us have worked in the restaurant business and we understand how hard their job is. But it was extremely unfair that we were treated the way we were again. If you have one rule, it should be for everybody not for a certain few. I may go back. I may not. I haven't really decided again. The food was delicious. The service had a lot a lot to be desired read more

While I overall enjoyed my meal there are some issues that are difficult to overlook. BTW First time dining in Collingswood and noticed many Italian restaurants nearby. Ordered the special appetizer which was decent, could have used more balsamic reduction though. Paid the extra price for the Caesar salad which was tasty although came out way too fast!! Still trying to enjoy my appetizer. I decided to pull the server aside to ask her to please slow down and not to have the entrees come out too quickly. Good news she didn't bring them out for a few minutes after we finished our salad... Bad news the cooks must of had them in the window because my veal Parmesan and penne were not close to being hot. My wife who had the rigatoni bolognese said hers was hot but not a real surprise due to the nature of the dish... It is a small Italian restaurant that offers incredible food for food lovers alike. It is BYOB so make sure you bring your favorite bottle of wine to enjoy with your dinner. I recommend starting with their Mussels or Caprese salad. Both are fresh and delicious. If you are like me and are a sucker for gnocchis then you have to get their gnocchi consigliere. It is served with their incredible rose sauce. Once you start eating, you are not going to want to put your fork down. If you are in their area or looking for a nice classic Italian restaurant, then The Kitchen Consigliere is the place to be. Have been here many times over the past years. Even when it was at the original location. I've raved about this place yet last night was very disappointing. I've seen the service "waitresses" seem to get more and more to the point. The older waitress has been there for years. Yet she has no time to really entertain anything she doesn't want to do. Really to the point. Like she's been doing this far too long. We couldn't order an appetizer unless we ordered our main course! Which I found to be ridiculous. The place wasn't even busy. So after we decided on which special to have we ordered our appetizers and meals so the waitress Wouldn't have to make another trip. Now the food , I ordered the salmon scampi " a special" and my wife ordered the flounder special. My salmon was hard and seemed to be overcooked lacking flavor. Hers was not overcooked but was very bland the shrimp were overcooked and hard as well. The only thing we enjoyed were the rice ball and the calamari apps. I feel bad posting this after so many years of diners and celebrating birthdays there but you guys need to reevaluate your customer service for one and also revisit who's cooking in the back. Word of mouth goes along way. And I was very dissatisfied taking friends there last night. I shouldn't have to make excuses for the service or how the food tastes. I paid my bill and tipped 25% but left there feeling upset over the whole experience. Can only comment on the take out cannoli cake slice I got. I don't know if anyone else feels this way but cake is always better on the second day. The slice I got was on the bigger side and I ate about half of it that night. It was good but it wasn't until I ate the cake the next day for breakfast that it was fully appreciated. Room temp cake is just better ‍ staff was friendly and checked to make sure they had the cake before they confirmed I could order. You must look at the menu because although the selection is limited, it also has something you desire that will knock your taste buds off. Austin was our waiter along with a server and hostess that made us feel right comfortable for our first visit. The calamari was perfect for the appetizer, along with the fresh bread and Italian toppings, then the house or caesar salad choice was included with the entry, so I ordered the caesar with fresh anchovies. My friend ordered veal marseille with fresh vegetables while I ordered the best veal parmigiana I ever tasted. My friend had tiramisu for dessert that was something to tell grandma about. Dinner was served with a complimentary glass of wine. Are you ready for the total cost of dinner $78.50 plus a $25 tip. So go ahead and see if what I am saying isn't correct, I dare you. read more

The husband and I spent our Anniversary dinner here and it truly impressed with taste and customer service! They enforce social distancing with seating () waiter wore a mask and gloves! Every entree was delicious!!! We started off with clams in white sauce... let's just say, I didn't share the clams. Next entree salads... husband had the house salad with house made balsamic vinaigrette the dressing is so delicious we asked for some to take home! Don't judge us because you will too if you enjoy a good salad dressing, especially vinaigrette! My shrimp Caesar salad (my request to add the shrimp) with fresh croutons was delicious and large portions! Took too long to get water, there best part was the guy who brought the water, he was the only one with personality and happy. Came for dinner with my boyfriend and sister on a Monday night after rave reviews from one of my girlfriends. The menu was short and sweet which to me just screams freshly made. We started off with the mussels in white sauce and fried calamari, both were exceptional. I wish we saw our server a little more to ask for more bread because the sauce the mussels were in was amazing. I ordered the salmon mediterranean which was just okay the salmon itself was cooked perfectly medium however there was loads of burnt rosemary all over it and the artichokes were not tender. My sister got the chicken italiano which had broccoli rabe sharp provolone and roasted red peppers. I tried a bit of hers and it was delicious!! (I wish i ordered that lol) My boyfriend ordered chicken piccata which he enjoyed. We stopped by here while walking around in Collingswood. We had our dog with us so we werre seated outside we suited us just fine. Our server even brought our dog a water bowl. We got the crispy artichoke appetizer which we really enoyed, it wasnt overtly crispy as it was doused in saucw but was overall very good. I got the gnocchi, which is was definitely one of the better ones I've had in the area. Each piece is stuffed with cheese. For desseert we got the pizelles with fruit and cream which was more substantial than we expected and pretty good as well. Would definitely recommend! read more

My wife and I come here every year for our wedding anniversary and it never disappoints. The specials are always different and amazing, this year they had fried lasagna appetizers and they were amazing. For dinner my wife gets the chicken sorrento, which always looks amazing and I get the Sunday gravy(tastes amazing). The staff are always amazing, Kim wasn't our waitress this year, but she seated us and went into some funny stories and went over the specials while we waited for our waitress. We came after seeing a show on TV. Hubby got the eggplant with penne. Amazing flavor & huge portion. It was wort the $3 upcharge on the lightly dressed Caesar salads. I got the "2nd most popular dish in the restaurant: pillow soft gnocchi in vodka sauce. By far the best I ever had. Unfortunately we were too full for dessert. This authentic Italian joint is run by none other than Angelo Lutz.  Lutz once served time in a federal prison for doing the books for some Philadelphia mobsters. Then he came out of the slammer and was ready to make food as good as his nonni and mama used to make. And boy does he and his talented staff ever! Reservations are strongly recommended at this quaint BYOB. There are a number of tables for small and large dining parties. The design of the restaurant is classic Italian style with an open kitchen.  The walls are lined with cutesy photographs of gangsters and actors adored the walls with a large mural of the whose who of gangsters was on the rear wall near the restrooms with Angelo smack dab in the middle. The ambiance is dim lit, jazz club style. KC offers nightly specials that the attentive servers will share with you. The specials are usually appetizers and entrees. Expect 2-3 of each. For me though, it's always the rigatoni Bolognese. My husband always gets the Sunday gravy. Our meals are consistent every time, year round. All entrees come with bread and a salad to start. I especially love the balsamic dressing that accompanies the salad and the chickpeas in the salad. And do be sure to never leave with a big cannoli for dessert now or later. I cannot stress enough that the food and service is always top notch! We have so many favorite dishes there! They are truly the best that Collingswood has to offer!!
